no cup yet for Pasta wick, also didn’t realize he is only 25. Bs have him on a good deal for 2 more years, then imagine he will be in line for a healthy raise (same could be said for Bergeron next offseason even tho he will be 36)

Wow Toronto only like 14 shots?

And if they only have 4 shots from up close that means they are getting no second chances or rebounds.

Pasta gets the nod for pile driving goalies head 15 mins ago and much lower cap hit but much better line mates, Blackwell notwithstanding

These guys don’t know what the heck they are doing, they try to precision pass pucks into the net. Just get those pucks into the goalies space and then find it and bury it

Why are there no fans in Toronto?

So analytics are based on regular season data, yet the game isn’t played the same way in the post season and it’s not bc the refs suddenly let everything go. It’s bc some teams will fully commit to just dumping pucks in and chasing them down and cycling in the offensive zone. And a team like Toronto is not built to handle that, and in the playoffs some teams are more than willing to full commit shift after shift to play that way. And suddenly you can’t ply your game bc it’s super easy to dump and chase, it’s not hard to do it, and dump/chase and hard forecheck/cycle puts a roster like Toronto in danger.

It’s like building a team where the weakness happens to be what the bread and butter of playoff hockey is.

You can say dubas and the maple leafs have been trying to get this roster to be more conscious defensively in the regular season, but that also doesn’t mean that come the playoffs when the intensity shifts and teams start playing a heavy dump/chase cycle game, that those guys you’ve been schooling during the regular season, will be able to handle it in the playoffs.

Instead of having guys who know and own their roles, they are banking on guys filling roles that they haven’t really been in or achieved in bc they are guys that meet all the analytics criteria, that they pinpointed and have bet on.

Love seeing the Bruins get dominated, hate seeing the Islanders do it.

I, for one, want the Isles to make a deep run.
    Why? Simple.
Drury needs to see what this team is lacking, ESPECIALLY looking at how our biggest division rival is getting it done.

This off-season is going to determine the fate of this team for the next several years. I firmly believe that.

Anyone who tries to tell you that the NHL is just a “speed” game now is clueless.

About the only team arguably getting it done that way is Colorado.

Look at the fate of the Oilers, the Pens, and now the high flying Leafs….. Gone after the 1st round.

I can’t wait till we are a more complete balanced team to play them in a playoff series. I hope it comes soon so they can’t use the Bergeron/Marchand was getting up there excuse

I know they haven’t won’t any cups. But I’m watching Andy green celebrating and I start wondering to myself, does he think to himself or has he said outloud, I feel like I’m on the devils teams I broke in on

Not dumping/piling on dubas. But unless shanahan was instructed by his bosses to elevate Dubas. He totally screwed up not letting Lou build a balanced team with the wealth of assets they had 4-5 seasons ago

So based on regular season standings

The winner of Colorado/Vegas series will play the winner of the Winnipeg/Montreal series.

And the winner of the Tampa/Carolina series will play the winner of the isles/bs series

The 3rd and 4th place teams in the East and the North moved on. 10th OA Boston, 12th OA Isles, 14th OA Winnipeg, and 18th OA Montreal

    (The rangers: 16 OA)

In the Central and pacific divisions it’s the 1st OA Colorado, 2nd OA Vegas, 3rd OA Carolina, and 8th OA Tampa

    Colorado/Winnipeg
    Isles/bolts

    Colorado/Tampa

NBA fans have always been crazy. I mean the league let’s people in the front row literally have their feet in bounds or mingle and talk on the court during breaks

The rest of the leagues have a barricade or glass that separates the playing field from the spectators.

There’s a dynamical issue in that. Something about the no separation.

Yeah the angry drunk fan may not be in the front row with all the elites, but ‘I sure think I’m close enough to get this bottle over there’

    So it’s all unacceptable.

But man, I cannot stand Kyrie Irving at all. That kid’s brain and the way he sees the world. He’s an ego-maniac. Not a crusader. Just like always.

Guy doesn’t get that it’s the everyday people of the world that look at his F the NBA, F the dynamics of it all.

Listen KiD, you talk about people who do ‘great things’ and meanwhile the only reason your basketball skills put you in that so-called ‘great things’ is bc the dynamic of your sport and the moneybags involved In it, make basketball players so.

So get a reality check, your blessed and lucky as heck, that basketball is something that pays 100s of millions of dollars, otherwise they all would be living like the rest of us.

So recognize the fact, you should ultimately be happy and grateful that you can make this kind of money and have this kind of platform bc of basketball, you ought a show the majority of the paying fans that make you guys millionaires that you give a 💩 about the game. And yeah you should speak up and have a voice about things.

People don’t dislike Irving bc of what he has to say, they dislike him bc of air of smugness and better than people when he’s just a guy who plays basketball and is lucky this twisted society, pays so well for it, otherwise it wouldn’t matter how great at basketball you were. It would be like being great at doing puzzles. It’s cool and all, and fun
Maybe. But it wouldn’t put bread on your table, or setup your kids, grandkids, great-grand kids.

So why don’t you stop walking around like your so miserable being taken advantage of and used as cattle as ball players. And see it for the truth, yeah there are a💩 selfish, racist owners in pro sports, in ownership in general. But if not for the fans and the fact that so many fans care, you wouldn’t have salaries like you do.

So maybe in fact you do owe it to the fans to act like your grateful and happy or for people to look at you like what the heck is this guys deal. Life ain’t fair, yet he’s ended up with the long straw bc in this manifestation of human society, people who are tall enough and good enough to play basketballs are paid like they are royalty

  62. Jpp2.0 Avatar
    Jpp2.0

Meanwhile he always looks miserable? And like he’d rather be anywhere else

  63. Jpp2.0 Avatar
    Jpp2.0

I’ve never seen a more entitled athlete than kyrie Irving

    Yeah I mean that.

He really believes he was born entitled to live like this bc of of basketball. Like god wrote into the Ten Commandments ‘thou shall pay basketball players millions’

No, do you realize HOW LUCKY you are that you live in a world where

I know in rich circles and athletes and entertainers circles, they all try to spin and validate their own success as something pre-ordained or meant for them. And not how lucky they are that this world is the way it is. I think throughout history entertainers and the such were traveling Nomads, they got exchanged room and board and meals for doin their show or act. Yet in the modern world, bc ‘they’ pay to keep people preoccupied and not dedicating their lives to world or societial issues, entainters and athletes get paid crazy loot. And everyone around then tries to reinforce this idea that they are special or god chosen, as opposed to hey we are just lucky people pay so well for this stuff

  64. Jpp2.0 Avatar
    Jpp2.0

And don’t kid yourselves anywhere actors and athletes.

The origin of high paid or well taken care of entainters is based on the fact that they were pretty much paid to be circus monkeys for the rich and elite of said times. Jesters, the like.

So in fact you guys are all in a field that throughout history was paid for by the rich to amuse them.

Not saying entertainers today should identify that way. I’m more just speaking to the ‘chance’ aspect and really dynamics and reasons behind ‘WHY’ you folks get PAID in the 1st place and how/where it all originated. And the true fact that if that weren’t the dynamics, y’all would be super paid and super glorified and thinking your special to begin with. More special than anyone else.
