NY Rangers (28-33-9) vs Ottawa Senators (36-24-9)

Tonight the Rangers will first have a little celly for Mika Zibanejad who will be playing in his 1000th game tonight – congrats you Persedish DJ! 😁 And by some amazing NHL scheduling magic (one wonders what or whom was sacraficed), the Rangers will be playing Zibanejad’s former, and first, NHL team – the Ottawa Senators. Zibanejad was stolen traded for a 29 year old Derick Brassard who never crossed the 50 point threshold again.
As to current form, the Rangers enter 5-4-1 in their last ten including the S/O loss last night and three regulation losses prior. The Sens are looking good right now, 7-2-1, four of their last five including most recently wins over TOR and the NYI.
Shesterkin (22-14-6, 2.56 GAA, 0.912 SV%) is back in net tonight with Garand as backup to the slightly wounded Quick. The Sens are expected to start Ullmark (22-10-7, 2.77 GAA, 0.885 SV%). In a lineup change, Brodzinski is Prucha’d and Pärssinen will center the fourth line, Edstrom moving back to left wing.
The refs today are Carter Sandlak (242 GP) and Graham Skilliter (875 GP). Guess we didn’t see enough of Sandlak last night!
