That is how many shots on goal the Rangers had last night in a losing effort against an Ottawa team striving for a playoff spot, all while in theory celebrating Zibanejad’s 1,000th NHL game. Well, they did make the record books – their effort tied the lowest total shots on goal in regulation in a regular season in their franchise history (here’s looking at you 12/11/55 2-0 loss to DET before official records were even kept).
The Rangers were slow of skate and mind from the puck drop and it is (lack of) efforts like these that seriously call into question the entire NYR off and in season conditioning program. The lone NYR goal was a tap-in by Sheary (4), being at the right place at right moment, Kartye (11) and Robertson (11) credited with assists.
Game summary below:

The Rangers are on the road for a tilt Wednesday night, 25 March at 19:30. Telecast by MSG.
