The Rangers have struggled at home so far this season but have done better on the road so perhaps a trip to the wild west of Canada can cure what ills?

Calgary has started off this season in alarmingly poor form for a team that finished last season with 96 points, missing the playoffs over a ROW tie breaker to St. Louis. The Flames have dropped seven in a row after opening the season with a win over Edmonton – the most recent being losses to WPG, MTL (OTL), WPG and VGK. The NYR enter the game having dropped games to SJS (OTL) and MIN at home after a nice road win over MTL.

Othmann was recalled from Hartford to take Rempe’s spot in the lineup. There have been no updates (yet) on Rempe beyond UBI so for now expect it to be day to day. We recommend that Othmann take advantage of his latest opportunity to show that he does belong at the NHL level.

The recent play combined with the Rempe injury gives coach Sullivan a chance to re-jigger the lineup. Perhaps Raddysh moves up, Othmann goes in his spot and Sheary drops down? Or something like that? Expect the the lineup to be fluid until game time so if time permits the card below will be updated. [UPDATED]

Refs tonight are Graham Skilliter (885 GP) and Brandon Schrader (338 GP). Schrader definitely is a home team fan.

I think I just answered my own question. Not a DAMN THING is next. 1998-2004 all over again. I hate being a NYR fan. This one WILL last a lifetime. Appreciate that, Sam. Thanks for that.

    Although I went to a few even at old garden, my baptism re pain from rangers losing was 1968 when they won games 1 and 2 as 2 seed

    Then lost next 4

    For some reason 2 played 4 and 1 played 3

    Game 5 via late game long shot against Eddie

    So 26 years from then until 94

    Now it’s 32 years since then

    So longer lasting pain. The gift that keeps on giving

    Yup- I truly believe this team is bottom 3. Panarin needs to go at the deadline for a haul. I don’t care what it takes to get rid of Zibanejad…. I don’t care if they bury him in Hartford. He cannot be near this team anymore with his lax energy and attitude. Same goes for that loser, Fox. Honestly- see what you can get for JT Miller as well. This should be a complete fire-sale. Gut it right down to the studs. They need to get the stink off this team and that’s the only way at this point. The problem is, I don’t want Drury to be the one to assemble the rebuild.

    The dam has broken in the last two games. They gave up on playing team D that would keep them in games. Pond hockey is back and they don’t have the skill to make it work. Time to blow it up. They could have 4 or 5 firsts in a deep draft. They might be watchable again in a few years.

    Sully presser is horrible. Rather than get hot and maybe call a few people out by name or imply action will be taken, he just gives the same bs and pretends the handful of good defensive games are the “real” team. Didn’t he watch tape from last season? Or even the one before?

    We better get used to this garbage hockey and lack of effort, as Drury is GM for life. This team has no heart or compete level, but they have plenty of excuses.

    When does the clock start ticking on Sully? Drury is going to have to hold someone accountable soon, otherwise the owner may actually start looking at him.
