It’s been raining in NY for a week and Debby has even arrived yet. We spent billions since Sandy to deal with storm surge, but not on how to deal with high intensity rain events. Subways and highways still flood when it rains and is seems to be happening more frequently. We always refight the last war. It has cooled off though.
Have the Rangers announced if they are going to do those rookie games with Philly again?
ORF we had devestation from tropical storm leftovers in central and northern VT on the *exact same day* as the major flooding last year. Three weeks later we were hit with from 5-8″ of rain in under 12 hours in the same areas. It is ground hog day every week for the road guys – replacing culverts, bridges, roadbeds. A friend who does drainage/ecavation type work is unable to reliably get gravel as so many trucks have been called in by the state in emergency service. When you see semi’s driving on dirt back roads to bypass road closures you know it is bad.

We’re coming up on 8/15. Is Drury chasing an college UFAs? It’s a good way to backfill for some of those picks he gave away at the deadlines.
orf, the Rangers currently have used 46 of there 50 allotted contracts. More than likely they will sign Perreault and Laba after their college seasons. They can do ATOs, and that is more likely with Laba than Perreault, so that puts them at 47/48. Have to leave some room for trade deadline acquisitions. This is a long winded way of saying, maybe one CFA, maybe. I’m guessing none.
There haven’t been any rumors but Drury keeps things buttoned up pretty well.
