I think the Gold Plan that the PWHL uses is interesting. In theory, the worst team would be eliminated first and have the most chances to accumulate points. It would encourage all teams to try to win and takes the feeling that teams are tanking out of the equation.
A tournament could be interesting, but probably should be limited to the worst 4-6 teams. The bubble teams that need less help would have more of an advantage.
The lottery is probably the worst option, especially the number system. I mean, just put 100 balls with the team logos and have one be the winner.

Torts seems to have mellowed out a bit which certainly can help. Even so, he’s kind of the poster child for the term ‘shelf life’ when it comes to coaches.
Marner did say in the postgame that Torts has helped bring back their swagger which had gone missing late in the season.
