I really do not like the ‘move up 10 spots’ thing. But if you want to add a random element to reduce the tank for the sake of it risk, my choice would be groupings with equal weights within each.
Ex – four groups of four, 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, 13-16. Four mini draws, four balls in each, whatever order they come out, that is how draft goes. And Bettman is prohibited from ever touching any of the balls!

It seems likely that the best players on the board will be Ds when they pick. Malhotra, Lawrence and Bjorck seem to be the highest rated centers but their ratings vary greatly among the scouts. There is way too much deja vu for me in picking Malholtra with a high first rounder. Reid, Carels and Verhoeff seem to be highly rated by almost everyone. They seem to be the safer picks. Maybe they trade up to get Shilov or Roobroeck with their 2nd first rounder. I could also see Lawrence tumbling down the rankings based on his numbers at BU. He be a good pick in the second half of the first round.
I have wanted Smits since seeing him play in the Olympics. Drury will most likely take one of the 3 remaining D, Verheoff, Reid, or Carels. Then again he just might select Malhotra or Lawrence. Is there anyone in the draft related to Sullivan?
I do think Schneider could possibly bring back a center like McTavish.

JB. in the last number of year with sports gambling going through the roof; a lot more mental problems are on display with Sports. Also with fans knowing how much money some of their hero’s are making the amount of stupidity has greatly increased.
I do not care what they make,because the numbers are crazy. As for betting on sports. I stopped that over 30 years ago. Did not make the winning any better and the losing really sucked.
