They build down middle at 5..Center or D ..as they should …if they go D it’s more likely Schneids goes for Top 6 help
Schneider is under control for 2 more years, rather give up Borgen but neither is bringing top 6 high end talent
I don’t think there is a dominant 1C available to them at 5. I favor them drafting someone who can be a true 1D in all situations. Smits may be that guy. I’m not sold on Verhoef.
I have wanted Smits since seeing him play in the Olympics. Drury will most likely take one of the 3 remaining D, Verheoff, Reid, or Carels. Then again he just might select Malhotra or Lawrence. Is there anyone in the draft related to Sullivan?
I do think Schneider could possibly bring back a center like McTavish.
I’d take verhoeff purely based on his placement in the projections combined with coming from the WHL
