Good morning, boneheads!
Not a bad week going into a long hiatus for our boys. Five out of 6 possible points.
We’ll have a lot of time to discuss many things before they play again, so let’s pace ourselves. š
Just a couple of things/observations.
First, this Cuylle kid may become a very good compensation for them “losing” the medal thrower. He was asked to fight (read- challenged) by a guy whose team was down 2-0, and who wanted to give them a spark. Kolesar is in the league because of that, he is an enforcer. First, the kid did more than fine. Second, I don’t think he is going be in the NHL because his role will be to fight. He’s going to be much better than that. Think Barclay Goodrow.
They may have an excellent goalie tandem after all. Didn’t look like that for the first two months.
Drury got a very good head start going into next couple of tough seasons cap-wise. Two under the radar depth signings, both for two years. Both players, Harpur and Vesey, are having very good seasons, and if continued like that, would’ve fetched much more money in July.

Just listened to an interview with that montreal D man we were all talking about earlier this seasonā¦what a crazy story and cool guy.

The Rangers are far from an offensive juggernaut; they are 19th in goals scored.
Chytil is third on the team in goals scored with (minimal PP time) and one behind team leader Kreider in even strength goals.
With 29 points so far this year, Chytil has already surpassed 31 yr old Acciari’s career best season (27 pts).
27 year old Sturm’s best season to date is 20 points.
Both Acciari & Sturm have taken over 100 shots in a season only once each in their careers.

I hate to do this, because I really like Trocheck and it’s not meant as a knock against him, but..
This season Chytil has 2 more goals than Trocheck, while VT has 5 more total points.
However, VT has played over 223 more even strength minutes, and over 131 more PP minutes.
This year Chytil has a very good chance to match pointwise, the best of VT’s previous seasons (excluding his 2017-18 season which is an outlier at this point)

Youse guys are the best!
ā26ā years old – aināt it grand!
Why couldnāt Drury get Horvath?
I have been saying this for a while. We keep talking about needing a 3C. We have already #16. Unfortunately Drury overpaid for a 3C. but 20 16 21 is a pretty good 3rd line for the playoff run. Drury needs to fix the Mika Breadbox line, and line 4. 13 72 24 h
as been good and they love playing together. Do they have bad nights? Of course but so does Krusty and his linemates. Krusty and Mika need a good RW and it isn’t Vesey, Goodrow, or Kravtsov.
The 4th line should start with Vesey and go from there Acciari at center Motte, Goat, or Cuylle? Drury has options. Just my thoughts!
Pretty sure horvath is a fullback and Iām not even sure he knows how to skate.

I find it odd that several folks post things about Chytil on here and due to cap constraints, coach and scheme, roles of players, other needs of the team, etcā¦he quite possibly may not be here at the start of next season (need to have the mental health hotline ready to go if that happens) and yet somehow, someway, thĆ© rarest of posters show up with specific call signs and even more specifically seem to reference only certain Chytil posts instead of the plethora of them that come and goā¦
Hmmmm, almost seems deliberate and directed
Naaaahh, no one would be that petulant, infantile, or dumb.
Sneaky poster?
Not as much as they think they are
I thought I was the only Chytil supporter here..does that mean there are two?
They were saying on 31 Thoughts that Soucy (Seattle) may be available. Big nasty left Dman would be of interest but not sure why Kraken would want to move him if they are in playoff picture.
This made me lol quite heartilyā¦that slap yourself lineā¦lmao.
Different sport but probably pretty applicable to any team (and owner of said team) with prime aged vets on substantial contracts in any sport.
āFor those Raiders fans suggesting that they punt this season and wait for USCās Caleb Williams in next yearās draft, slap yourself. Wasting not one, but two years of Crosbyās and Adamsā prime would be embarrassing for a franchise that has already had so much egg on its eye-patched face the last two decades. A top rookie QB and/or Stidham gives you a chance to win now.ā
That post seems to be making an argument that Chytil should ask for what they gave Trochek. Ironically every point Chytil gets makes it less likely he will be here next year. They just can’t pay him next year unless they move other people to do it. He may be a 23 year old Mika, but, we won’t find out while he is wearing the Broadway Blue. Reality bites.
Going back to bobbyo’s LB article post yesterday:
Lucic: Please, no
Jeannot: Yes, please
Happy Groundhogs Day! š¦«
Is everyone excited about All Star Weekend? NOT!
Pack played night. That was their last game before AHL all star break. Would suspect Blais will be back when the Rangers are. Waiving him only makes sense if you think he will get claimed. Otherwise the cap savings is not with it. I believe Ilb said the Rangers would still be on the hook for $400,000 of his hit. Then you would have to replace him on the roster. That would eat up just about the rest of it. No real savings. A trade, or someone claiming him are the best options to save.
New go time post!!!
Sorry Bdl!
