Absolutely terrible performance. Mindless and weak. Borderline non-competitive.
They can’t even get the puck over the redline with no one challenging. Jesus H Christ
If they get Igor out it ends 4-1 with an empty netter
EV its the nicely pressed hotel linens. Just lulls them to sleep.
Behind by 2 with less than 3 minutes left and the Reaves line is on the ice. Maybe you can put some blame on gallant
Shesty pulled. The white flag goes up…
If I’m correct, their away record against playoff teams in the regular season was pretty bad too
It’s like watching a car crash. You can’t turn away for whatever reason
They are pathetic even 6 on 5
The old Chris Kreider is back. Absolutely non-existent. I guess his work ended at the end of the regular season. Tough to win when Strome, Panarin and Kreider produce next to nothing and barely make an effort. Does Kreider realize this is the playoffs, when you are supposed to give it your all and play physical. Playing like Claude Raines again.
Panarin didn’t give it away for the empty netter. That’s progress, right?
See you in Game 7
Beyond weak… outclassed. Just fugging sad.
Another 3 hours we’ll never get back
Even while on the 6 on 5 they weakly turn the puck over along the boards. They played this game like they were satisfied with their accomplishments and want to get to Aruba. They will probably get that wish on Saturday.
Boy was that a disgusting putrid piss poor performance. What is wrong with these guys? If you can’t get up for this kind of game there must be something wrong with you. I feel humiliated and all I did was waste 3 hours watching. Utterly abominable…..totally unacceptable. But then we are Ranger fans and the history of this team is loaded with performances like this. I don’t understand it. If Gallant says they played well tonight they he should be made to commit seppuku on national tv.
Ok, so I missed the first 2.5 periods of Game 1. Give up late goal and los in OT.
I miss first period of Game 2. Smith scores and done.
Miss first two periods of Game 3 and NYR hold on to win.
Miss all of Game 4, and they play their best game maybe of the postseason.
See all of Game 5, and they play one of their worst.
So it’s me. Sorry.
The best freaking defense is a great offense. No way you could win the way the Rangers played tonight. Absolutely the worst performance in the playoffs. Their blowing a great opportunity. How many teams get this close of an opportunity to win it all. Where were the big guys tonite ??? Shot on goal ; give me break. Partial choke hate to say
Woof. Looked spent. Physically. Mentally? Gonna need that No Quit NY stuff on Saturday.
Neither strome nor Panarin have been good enough (strome has at least been physical for the most part).
To mkh’s point, career year big Jesper is gone and post 2014 enigma in full effect, no physicality to his game whatsoever and no leadership.
Meeka is the only forward of the “big 4” that is playing not only as expected but above expectations imho.
Being a Ranger fan is akin to flogging yourself everyday like a deranged medieval monk. At the end of the day all you have is the pain.
Gravy
Thank you for your accountability and admitting your part in this debacle.
😉
So the Gravy wasn’t good tonight?
Fox… how badly is he injured? It’s just sad watching him play. He barely moves or skates.
Speaking of fox, did you guys see how many blocks he’s had in the post season?
Lots of pucks hitting a little guy
I’d be remiss if I didn’t say…
Go flames go!!!
You’ve got to give Edmonton some credit on the personnel side of things. They finally figured it out and added hard nosed players in their top 9, not just on the 4th line (looking at you Toronto).
Gravy’s premature woot woot and attempt to cancel out the woot woot with toow toow was responsible for the outcome tonight.
Just finished the recording not a great effort by our boys in blue. Still I’m no giving up they can still do this. Panarin is useless 5 on 5 if he’s not playing hurt he isn’t worth 11 million he looks panicked under pressure. Tonight The Enigma has returned. All I can say is it’s painful being a Ranger fan. Put Chytil on the wing with Loaf and Stromeless and put Copp between Laffo-Busto and Krakko. They have nothing to lose. Well at least it ain’t the pens!
I knew we were in for a big stinker.
I said it before the game on the previous thread.
That said, it’s on to NY and let’s win there.
Booooooooooooo
I’m 4 bottles of mead deep, at this point I may not even care if both the rangers and flames lose tonight.
😉
But rightfully scourging the Rangers, we have to give Canes credit – it is well organizing team machine with perfectly relentless forecheck for all 60 min. ,
Bag skate in the A.M.?
Was at the game tonight in Carolina. Not sure how the linesman missed the offsides call on the goal, it looked offside live from where we were way up in the rafters. The crowd was down when that goal was scored, but really came to life when it was waived off. It felt like a turning point in the game.
Rangers didn’t seem that quick at all, I noticed that Mika seemed to have his legs, he was beating people to pucks. Just too many wish passes being made upon zone entry. Liveyou can really see how good Panarin is at possessing the puck and trying to slow down play, but the Canes just don’t give him much room 5 on 5.
Also, don’t think Igor could be really faulted on any of those goals. The 2 on 1 was a great saucer pass with an immediate shot, the power play goal was another great cross ice pass and an even better shot, and the last was the breakaway goal. Would have been nice for him to pick up the team on that one but it didn’t happen.
Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll lose on Saturday night but play a whole game and get beaten the old fashioned way: by the other team and not by themselves.
That’ll save us from a repeat of this one one Monday.
Standing by my statement earlier today…. Whoever took this game takes the series. There ain’t no way we’re moving on to the ECF. My guess is we’re eliminated at MSG, but even if we win, do you really think we’re winning in Raleigh? It was fun while it lasted. This was the game they HAD to have and they didn’t even look competitive. Pathetic effort all around.
At least Gallant thought it was the worst game they’ve played in this series. Even though he said they weren’t physical enough, he forgot to call them soft.
