NY Rangers (9-7-2) at Columbus Blue Jackets (9-7-1)

The resurgent NYR continue their brief road trip with a stop in the most exciting city in Ohio, Columbus! This tilt between the Rangers and Blue Jackets pits two division rivals with equal records and both are 6-3-1 in their last ten and both have won their last two. Can our boys in blue continue their winning ways?
Shesterkin (6-6-2, 2.56 GAA, 0.907 SV%) expected in net against Greaves (5-4-1, 3.00 GAA, 0.897 SV%) though maybe Quick (3-1-0, 1.26 GAA, 0.950 SV%)? Borgen (UBI) expected to play after skipping Friday praccy. CBJ have placed Jenner (UBI) on the IR and have a number of banged up players that will be game time decisions – but all took part in the morning skate. Ranger offensive lines look the same with Robertson, Brodzinski and Pärssinen Prucha’d again.
The refs tonight are TJ Luxmore (744 GP) and Justin Kea (158 GP). Look for the Blue Jackets to get the edge in calls.
Keys to a Ranger victory: Scoring more than three goals is good but giving up three or more each game is not. A return to keeping shots to the outside and avoiding pond hockey should go a long way to getting another win.
On this date in history: In 1954, the Rangers acquired future Hall of Famer Andy Bathgate and Vic Howe from the Cleveland Barons of the American Hockey League in exchange for Glen Sonmor and Eric Pogue. Perhaps the steal of the century.
