Good afternoon Boneheads! Better late than never, eh? As most know by now the Rangers made an uncharacteristically early trade last night sending Ryan Spooner to Edmonton in exchange for center/winger Ryan Strome.
Strome, 25 was the fifth overall pick by the Islanders in the 2011 draft and hasn’t done much since scoring 50 points in 2014-15.
Spooner, who impressed after coming over at the deadline in the Nash deal had signed a 2 year deal this summer. It took all of 16 games this season for the Rangers to decide he wasn’t a good fit for Dave Quinn’s system.
This is one of those change of scenery/ your mistake for our mistake deals that could benefit the Rangers’ bottom six since Strome is a possession guy who should be an effective PK’er and jump in front of Lettieri on the fourth line.

If it wasn’t for lundqvist, rangers lose the game, Panthers out played them for most of the night.
I did not mind Strome at all last night. Started slow, but once he found his legs, he was pretty good. Made a lot of subtle plays in his own zone, and was very good with puck support along the boards.
