NY Rangers (12-9-2) vs Vancouver Canucks (11-9-3) (MSG)
The Rangers will try to win their eighth straight game at MSG.
Ryan McDonagh is still out. Boo Nieves is also out with the iliac crest contusion (also known as hip pointer. Sorry, couldn’t help it 😃 ). Hank in net. Nobody is officially prucha’d.

Ah the Iliac Crest! Essential for every X-ray Tech lol. Didn’t see the game. Heard it was ugly but they still managed the win in the skills competition after the game ended.
I’ll take it on a trashy NY sports Sunday
Big statement by the Rams today, Coos.

What time does the game start?
Just watched the game on the DVR. The tornovers that lead to grade A chances may be a feature of AVs system. They focus on moving up the ice quickly and make a lot of dangerous passes. They result in a lot of grade A chances. If Hank isn’t on top of his game it can get ugly. When is the next back to back? We won’t see Pavelec until then-maybe.
Might see Pavelec as soon as the winning streak ends. He needs a game. Corsica, as of Sunday, had Lundqvist leading the league in high-danger shots faces (7.1 per 60 minutes, I think it was) among all No. 1 goalies.
I don’t think AV’s doing it on purpose, though for the life of me I don’t know why coaches don’t–if you have the better goalie, especially on rushes (not saying Lundqvist is that particular guy), why on earth wouldn’t you try to force the other team into an up-and-down game? You often hear it said when teams play wide-open hockey, “Ooh, the coaches aren’t going to like this.” Both? Why both?
3 game winning streak gets NYR to 5th in Metro…
I never thought Henrik was done or “washed” as the cool kids on twitter say. But I did think the days of him putting together long stretches of sustained dominance was over. A couple great games here and there.
I figured he’d put up a couple great games here and there.
I remember the old line from John Wooden that he wanted his players to be quick, but, not to hurry. It’s a fine line, but, when they hurry too much the bad turnovers happen. Holden, JT an VC are some of main culprits. Although JT has gotten better.
Not that Pav shouldn’t get in but Hank is playing possibly his best regular season hockey in about a year and a half. Over the last month: 9 wins 2.23 GAA .932 save % and 1 SO.
Big reason they’re 10-2 in the last 12.
And, on a totally different note, sol.
Hank these days, is almost girlie giddy after a win.
“Girlie giddy…” 🙄
Nice to see how the defensemen have stepped up in McD’s absence.
Although I’m a huge fan of the Captain, this makes a trade of him a bit easier to swallow.
Admiral, I don’t think any of the defensemen stepped up today. They were a mess in front of Hank all game long. They need a healthy Mac back asap to provide some steadiness in their own end. I for one would hate to see him traded…
we missed the captain in the ot especially
very long 1st shift and nash did get to change in and even he was tired by the time we had a change near 2 minutes in.
we’re playing with house money in 3 wins in mcdonagh’s absence. i’d give him at least another game or even 2 to heal.
Gmen still the toast of the city. At 2-9, a SB win is within reach.
Hank needs to learn, Sittoo, to celebrate like a manly man, a man’s man who fights manful battles with other men.
Said like a real man Norm! Dilly, dilly….
