I remember when Roger Clemens blatantly lied during his Congressional hearings, and then our brain-dread legislators lined up for his autograph. Pathetic.
Never really considered Carp “The Press.” The Press, especially today, are generally a bunch of Yahoos and loudmouthed clowns. I always read Carp (and Reisman) to get the unvarnished truth until they were let go. Journal News sucks, but they’re not the only one.

Something tells me this Castro guy largely overestimates their D prospects. Because if he is right, trading McDonagh for elite center should be a no-brainer.
I’m not sure I would trade two defense prospects for a center. Maybe one of them and either DeAngelo or Holden and then feel free to add other things like minor league wingers or draft picks.
Tom Castro (whoever he is) doesn’t watch too many Ranger games. Our Defense other than #27, is all Offensive in both senses of the word.

I joined your football league. I can’t stand football but I’ll try my best to figure out what I need to do to stay as involved as I can.
Some here have mentioned numerous times that the rangers need to deal from an area of strength (d men, lefty in particular) to fill an area of need (centre).
There are certainly differences of opinion as to which D to deal, but I certainly think Brady “beat wide” SkjeL should be a prime candidate being a good young D with potential (expiring contract) and where I would start.
In light of the information about the Rangers not being willing to go 7×7 + for McD, I wouldn’t move any of the top 4 unless it was in fact McDonagh. Unless of course eliminating Staal would create a willingness to lock the captain up…

I would trade any defenseman not named McDonagh for Duchene. In fact, I’d trade a couple of them.
5’10, gotta pay him 6 mil per AND give up top talent. Maybe he’s worth it, maybe not. With his last year’s stats, I’d be cautious.
Coos – That’s why I wouldn’t give up McDonagh and the article states that last year’s stats are probably the reason he hasn’t been traded.
Yes, Cross Check, I, too, see Mac as our only untouchable at the moment. He’s our Captain, plays gritty EVERY night, and he gave us a sweetheart contract.
I like Shay. Who knows with him? I don’t think he’s really proven anything yet and to get a serious Center, I would certainly include. him in the deal. Problem is that although a lot of talking heads and dildo blogmasters say we’re mucho deep on D, I don’t see deepness, I see numbers.
If Colorado takes Skjei it’s based on potential, but I would think they would need something else whether it’s a high draft choice or maybe a veteran d-man. Maybe if the Rangers give them Staal and pay half of his contract. Or, maybe they would want to take a chance on one of the up-and-coming young d-men. I don’t know.
In any case, I would be shocked to see Duchene traded to the Rangers. If Slats was still GM, I’m sure he would be traded for quickly because you know Slats liked his shiny new toys.
