NY Rangers (33-39-9) vs Tampa Bay Lightning (50-25-6)
•15 April 2026 19:00 EDT
• Benchmark Arena, Tampa
• TV: MSG, TVAS2, The Spot •
Game #82 Tampa Bay, you have reached your final destination. Please check the overhead compartment for your personal belongings before leaving. And thank you for not using the emergency exit mid-flight!
In a very anti-climatic end to the 2025/6 season for the NY Rangers, they will play a meaningless game tonight against the TBL who have now locked up the #2 spot in the Atlantic division and #3 in the Eastern conference. The NYR have secured tee times across the tri-state area for Friday morning.
Garand (1-0-0, 1.44 GAA, 0.954 SV%) gets the nod in net tonight against Vasilevskiy (39-15-4, 2.31 GAA, 0.912 SV%) per sources who claim to know. Raddysh in for Brodzinski and Chmelař moves up to the third line with Cuylle and Trocheck.
The refs tonight are still considering whether it is necessary to officiate this game.
On this date in history: In 2024, the NYR won the NHL President’s Trophy, since returned.

The last time – FIRST!
Our last go time of the season and what a long strange trip it’s been.
Halvorsen will make this one tough to lose.
It’s go home time.
Kenny bailed?
We need some raddish on raddish action
I’m liking Garand more & more.
Last go time! Go get em!
woot woot
Halvorseive again. Beat short side twice.
A 2-0 lead means nothing.
And a child shall lead them
They’ll need some help from the Flames.
Woot woot woot
The dreaded e goal lead. Ty Kartye – you can only hope to contain him.
3 goal lead
What. The Fluck. With These Guys.
Pretty Wien-eee.
Garand not great on rebound control, but no Ranger anywhere near the net to help him.
If Garand’s not gonna get a shutout, then it’s time to start losing.
Mikachu!
They’ll get by with a little help from the Flames sing it now
Maloney lost voice but finishing season strong
And there it is…. Lafreniere’s career-best tying point.
A bad pass but an excellent giveaway.
Good period?
Goo period?
Number 49 is looking real good plows right through traffic he’s big strong and gets a shot off
Calgary has to win against the Kings tomorrow night to help the Rangers. Let’s get Kartye a Hattie.
Only 3 more to go
Maybe Garand is in on the tank. Big kill- or not- coming up.
#Blackhawks Chairman and CEO Danny Wirtz announced that the team has extended GM Kyle Davidson:
What for? moving the team one place off the bottom?
From when boxing still was kinda cool. Igor should watch for pointers
More entertaining than the game.
I went to a fight once and a hockey game broke out.
Isn’t he Garand?
It’s finally over. Good riddance #100
Kucherov pointless tonight 🙂🙂🙂
Instead of flying back to NY they should make them take the bus.
Hitchhike
Yes, “The Song Is Over”, but “The Song Remains The Same”.
Valley said Garand has superb rebound control in the games he’s played. During first intermission he had said he hadn’t seen one bad rebound in the 7 periods he’s played
the goal against today was the first time he lost a rebound goal.
But it was also a blown coverage in front of net
That was Round 1? It looked 2 guys who thought they needed a KO to win..The two most famous people from Brockton, MA, Rocky Marciano and Marvin Hagler. The high school teams are known as the boxers.
Go time for the lottery on May 7th? It’s the only excitement until October.
No Ranger within a stick length of the crease on the second goal and some beer league backchecking tonight leading to 2 on 1s. Garand was pretty solid. Rangers had an edge between the pipes.
Sheary had the best view of the Boot stuffing the rebound home
I’m happy this miserable season is over. I, for one, have little faith the current GM can fix the mess he created. Thank you to all of you for keeping this blog together.
Was just wondering what everyone’s opinion is concerning how long it will be before they can make a legitimate Stanley Cup run(i.e. conference finals or better). For us “older fans” from late 60s, early 70s, do you think we will see another Ranger Stanley Cup in our lifetimes?
2-3 years
3-5 years
5-7 years
7-10 years
