The Rangers play their last home game of the 2025/26 season this evening, taking on the Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo is tied for first place in the Atlantic division and is expected to at a minimum rattle some sabres at the Rangers. The Rangers haven’t a care in the world, though most fans would prefer if they could lock up a better draft position than beat up on fellow NYers.
Shesterkin (25-17-6, 2.50 GAA, 0.912 SV%) in net tonight against Luukkonen (20-9-3, 2.55 GAA, 0.911 SV%) for BUF. Skaters should be the same as the last game for the Rangers. Buffalo has a number of injuries: Sam Carrick (upper body), Noah Ostlund (upper body), Jiri Kulich (blood clot), Justin Danforth (lower body), Alex Lyon (lower body). Returning to the lineup for Buffalo are Kozak, Kesselring (missed last 14) and Timmins (replacing Schenn).
The refs tonight are not yet know and it is already pretty late (5:50 PM EDT). How on earth will they get to the rink in time?

in the first 2 periods and expect to win. They stopped checking & made a lot of dumb moves on defense. You gotta play a defensive tight game. They’ll will give you more scoring opportunities
