Good evening Ranger fans! We have a tilt tonight between the NYR and the Edmonton Oilers and only one team will be on a two game winning streak when it is over. Was the win over Vancouver just a one time, lucky game? Or the start of an upward climb through the conference standings?
The NYR come in with a win over the Canucks on Monday after dropping the previous three (including an OTL). The Oilers enter after beating the first place Mammoths but having dropped the prior two to VAN (OTL) and SEA. Safe to say neither coach has their team playing the way they want.
Lineup wise, rinse and repeat for the NYR with the only change being Shesterkin (2-4-2, 2.25 GAA, 0.916 SV%) in net tonight against Skinner (3-3-1, 2.41 GAA, 0.898 SV%). Trocheck has resumed skating with the team but is not expected back for a bit longer. Rempe also remains out and Othmann and Robertson are Prucha’d again. Edmonton will be without a few names of note including Hyman (wrist), Kapanen (knee) and Janmark (undisclosed). Former briefly NYR Roslovic is on the right of Draisaitl. Sportsbooks have Mika +1700 to score two goals tonight but most fans will settle for two beers and a burger 😉
The zebras tonight are relatively young, Chris Schlenker (480GP) and Peter MacDougall (459 GP). Both favor the home team, especially Schlenker.

Based on the below, guess EV is right. If the own goal team wins the face off clean without the opposing center touching, it goes to the previous goal scorer, I guess whether on ice or not.

I’m sorry, but if you don’t think this team needs to be gutted down to the studs, we’re watching a different team. I’m willing to accept some pain for 3-4 years if it means we build back the right way. This team is cooked.
