Finally, last night the Rangers easily won a game they should win, spanking the Sharks all game long. It was a big night for a few of their biggest stars as well. And with the two points and the results of other games, the NYR now qualify as WC2. But still a lot of work left, probably needing to win six of their last eight, five at a minimum.
The Rangers started strong is this game unlike most others the past two weeks. The Rangers started strong is this game unlike most others the past two weeks. Fourteen shots on goal in the first period! With a jump to their skates, it wasn’t too long before Panarin (32) would get the first of his two goals on the night at 12:04. Schneider picked up a broken stick shot in the right circle, saw an open Panarin and hit him with a cross ice pass for the shot. Vaakanainen would also get an assist (for the broken stick shot). Not quite two minutes later at 13:58, Panarin (33) would get his second goal, from high in the slot past a very screened Georgiev. Borgen and Trocheck were credited with assists. 2-0 NYR after one.
The only scoring of the second period was the first of Fox’s two goals, at just 04:48. Zibanejad kept the puck in the offensive zone and passed it over to Othman at the top of the circle. Othman saw Fox open low in the other circle, got him the puck and Fox would shoot a rising shot well over the diving Georgiev. 3-0 NYR after two.
Brodzinski (10) would get one past Georgiev to start the thrid at 03:08. Georgiev definitely wants this shot back, it should have been a pretty easy save. Kreider and Vaakanainen would get the assists. 4-0 NYR. Fans did not need to wait very long before Fox (9) would get his second of the night at 05:47, though there is a chance it may eventually be credited to JT Miller. Miller whacked at a rebound of a KAM shot, bouncing the puck behind Georgiev. There was not conclusive video proof to show whether the entire puck crossed the line before Fox tapped it over for sure. Fox pointed to Miller and the referee pointed to Fox so 🤷♂️ 5-0 NYR
The final score for the Rangers would be a short handed goal by Trocheck (21) assisted by JT Miller, who hit Trocheck on the left side in front of the net as they both sped into the offensive zone. 6-0 NYR. Alas, Quick would not get the shutout as the Rangers gave up a PPG to Lund (1), his career first, at 17:46. 6-1 NYR the final score.
Though the Rangers were crisper and more engaged than the Sharks all night long, they had an unacceptably high 19 giveaways, also a trend of recent weeks. Perhaps the one difference was that some of the give aways were closer to the net and did not result in plays coming back fast the other way.
The official scoring summary is below:

The Rangers return home and will host the Wild on Wednesday night at 19:00 EDT, telecast by MSG and FDSNNO, as other teams start to catch up their games in hand.

Maybe I am missing something here. I read this somewhere that if the Rangers finish 13th or lower Drury gets to decide whether he wants to keep the pick or give it to the pens. Resulting in keeping the 2026 1st. I think someone said it is at puckpedia? Asking for a friend? By the way I still find it hard to believe they make the playoffs. They still ice 79, 93, 31 and 20.
That sharks team just beat Boston’s and Toronto the past 2 games
Fox has looked back to his old form on this trip.
The lines seem more balanced as well. Will Otter ever pot one? Getting grade A chances and is willing on wall. Needs to add 15 lbs of muscle to his frame
Kakko 3-1-4 (-4) in last 10 games, on pace for 44 points this season. Pro-rata Sea stats are 52 points and -22. On pace for 10 ES goals combined. 2OA my arse
Or do we only post his stats after he scores? I might be doing this wrong…
Kakko is a middle six NHL player. The fact that he didn’t accept that status as well as his draft position resulted in his departure from NY. He doesn’t carry that baggage in Seattle and should settle in like Ryan Strome and others have after moving on from the teams that drafted them.
I saw a post recently where the Rangers are the #1 worst team in the NHL at drafting and player development. Imagine that?
SN I don’t know that the +/- is fair. Kraken aren’t very good 3.27 GAA and Kakko played a pretty responsible game in NY. On the point production, it is trending the right way now that he is getting 17 mins a night. Still needs more, you are right. Needs to get around the net more often and pick up a few rebound goals too.
Looking at just the 2019 forwards, he’s #9 in pts/gm this season, #6 of the 1st rounders, could bump that closer to #5 with a 55-60pt season.
Othman is due…like him on that line…more physical than Laffy and he actually backchecks
Minx that is no shock. I’d say a lot of that is on development. Everyone wants to pretend the NHL is not a developmental league and that may have been true 20 years ago. Not any more. They are pushing the young’uns out the door very fast now. Not quite NFL/NBA fast but few early rounders are playing in the AHL for three or four years. So your NHL staff has to be able to do the things you’d want the AHL guys to do (well) but then comes that business of ‘must win games or coaches gone’ thing.
One thing I see is that the NYR never left top six openings for their high picks, instead regulating them to 10-15 shifts a game. Other teams find ways (or just accept the ups and downs) to play them 20-25 shifts or more.
St Pete I’ve read the same about the draft pick and I think the concern is that Drury may still want to make the pick as he’s the one who wanted the protection…
Does Kakko get 7×7 now that he’s “trending the right way”?
Remaining schedules. 4/8 could be a very bad Bettman day
The Canes, Devils Panthers and Bolts twice. Do the win any of those? Maybe one or two at most. Wild, Flyers and Isles. So maybe three or 4 wins and 83-85 points. If their draft spot winds up out of the top ten they should let the Pens have it. From everything I have read this draft has few top tier players outside of the first 5 or 10. This group is going to finish around NHL 500 after a strong start to the season. The performance since the start of 2025 may be indicative of what they will do next year. They look like a NHL500 team at best next year as well and a similar draft slot in a deeper draft. If the lottery goes well for them and they luck into a top ten spot take it. If not let the Pens have it.
wwpd if I were Kakko’s agent I would not do more than a one or two year deal, say 4.5 per. Last year of RFA and first of UFA.
Kakko, like Laffy, was physically more advanced for his age group. He is getting steady run on a middling team, but no sniper and has trouble getting shot off. 20-30-50 on a bad team is average output; 9 ES goals in 71 games is not 2OA worthy .
ORF: beat MIN, NYI, PHI, NJD, split TBL and one of CAR/FLA. Unless they screw up and NJD get hot, CAR will not really have much to play for that game. FLA has ten games left in short span and that division is a three way tie. They might be on fumes when we get them. Hope so.
Looking at the other WC team schedules this could even go at 85/86 pts.
I liked Othmans game… there are definitely a few others that are playing hard (50, 39,65, 17 & yes 22 to name some) there is a potential next season to be an interesting team to watch, if not a good one. Especially if Edstrum and Rempe are back as well…im not sure if id like to see them make the playoffs but im not convinced overall if they have the onions for it
Clarification on the lottery. As per Uncle Larry, Drury has to make the call on the drat pick 48 hours before the draft lottery so all he will know is where they finish-not were the spot would draft.
SN – it would be 12 ES based on SEA prorated. He’ll do better than that though.
Here are all 2OA forwards playing this season:
“The lottery will be held during the early rounds of the playoffs.
If a bottom-13, Drury has until 48 hours before the draft to notify Pittsburgh GM Kyle Dubas whether the Blueshirts are keeping the pick or sending it to the Penguins.”
ORF if Uncle Larry says it I guess I believe it. I thought the pick trades were decided mechanically.
ORF
That is correct. If they wind up 12th or 13th they’re not landing in the top 5. Give the pick to the dirty birds. But Drury is clueless he will keep it and probably gift wrap the next Crosby to pit, just our luck!
No matter who is the GM (and coach) this summer, changes will be made. At least one of the twins is gone. Brodude’s been a trooper but see them upgrading there. Defense admit, don’t know who is UFA at this point but have to think we can improve there too.
IDK, I think there is just as good a chance of NYR having a worse pick next season. Do you want, say, #10 this draft or #20 next? NJD are currently #18 by P%, STL #20. There is a lot of meh between 10 and 20.
Kakko is #227 goals per 60 for all forwards; middle six forward, no shame in that, just not a difference maker like more than half that list
Since 2/1, no NYR Dman has negative +/- except Jones (-1) and Miller (-3)
Hope Mollie gets some comment on this from our Finnish contingent!
Sunday mornin’ sidewalks…
Alex pleading for Murder by Cop. 🙂
Finns ranked happiest people on earth. Lots of Vodka in Finland…has to be.
Munster: ‘I thought K’Andre played that late goal perfectly…just got a bit unlucky.’ 🙂
coos
Miller 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dare I say it? The Huggy Team?
McDonuts just played his 1,000th game. Can it be so? Man is it ever easy to get old fast!
Co-ed sophomore on Spring Break, ‘Did they name Pittsburgh after Brad Pitt?’
May have traded 2 HoFers with McD and Miller in the same deal for NOTHING!! JT by no means a lock but McDonut looks like he will make it in
Coos – Fins are happy because they are not New York sports fans. They should send us all their vodka, we need it more than they do.
Hard to get excited about last nights game. Since they have been unable to beat playoff teams all season, it’s hard to expect them to start doing it now and 1-3 wins isn’t going to get it done.
It’s good to hear Rangers have a choice of giving Pens this years pick even if they finish in bottom 13. I would save the pick for what’s expected to be a much deeper draft next season. With that said, we all know Rangers will screw up the pick no matter where and when it is.
Habs win Habs win. Panthers ugh!
Rangers playoff spot, easy come, easy go.
I for one really enjoyed our soft serve squad occupying WC2 for less than 24 hours. Kept the spot nice and warm for Les Habitants. 🤷♂️
Problem is some of the teams playing the team’s we have to beat out don’t have to win ie Fla but they have re another shot up in the Forum
How did EV let this happen?
Canes just coughed up a 2-0 lead to the Asshats
Can’t make this stuff up.
And just like that we’re out of the playoffs.
The New York Slack Exchange
We sold our tickets to the game. All the Frenchies and their pompous attitudes are something we try to avoid most years. Lol
Hold up. Did SN say he thinks McDonut will make it in the hall of fame? The American one, maybe.
We’re not making yhe playoffs boys. Well, unless Twerkin becomes supernatural the last 8 games. I’m pretty sure that ain’t happening either. But I’ve been wrong once or twice before.
MTL beat FLA
pens beat the sens
BUF beat WAS
So anything can happen
Kid from BC was just an idiot.. Denver going for empty net, puck misses hits the wall and yet he continues to charge down the ice looking to prevent Denver player from getting a rebound shot of a *dead puck* and crashes hard into the boards 🤦♂️
Perreault is now available. Let’s see if Drury bites.
Keep him away from this years clown show.
Perreault will be a ranger shortly.
Perrault needs to hit the weight room
I tend to agree with both Minx and SN on Perrault.
He’s not bringing Perrault into this mess
Why would the GM burn a year for nada? Maketh no scents.
What ever happened to that promising big, rugged DMan we had in our system a few seasons back? Name escapes me. I think his brother was in prison.
Reading Uncle Larry’s quote again, the lottery is during the playoffs and Drury can wait until 2 days before the draft in late June to make the call. He will know where the pick falls before he decides whether to keep it or not.
All the 2WC contenders are bad and run hot and cold. There’s no telling who will wind up being served up to the Caps as an hors d’oeuvre. None are likely to reach 90 points.
Not about bringing him to this mess. It’s about getting him signed. For Perreault to sign, they will have to burn a year. It’s just how it works with the big college prospects. Chicago just did it with two guys (Moore, and Rinzel), the Blues did it with Snuggerud. Caps will do it with Leonard.
Perreault lists himself at 5’11 and 3/4. Size neurosis.
If the Rangers convince Perreault to start his ELC next season, it would be a big win for the Rangers. Obviously I have my doubts that will be the result.
Caps have lost games to PIT, SJS, BUF (2x), CHI, DET, UTE, BOS, VAN, MTL. Now on their second three game losing streak in the past two months. Will have pressure of 1st in the East and potentially el Presidente’s trophy too. Ovi will be expected to perform like he’s 10 years younger. History of folding after big regular seasons.
Not sure why people are so afraid of them. Not a cake walk but not the toughest out in the playoffs.
Oy veh kubel should be benched for parsnip after that late penalty which led to lost shutout for quickie
Lavy likes him from flyer days I bet
He skates and checks for an undersized grinder but he has very poor puck skills
Zach Jones is better than Soucy and urrho and probably even miller
There. I said it.
CC,
He’s too small/too easily pushed off the puck. They need size on the backend. See- Florida. Plus, he was awful on the PP. They need to move on from him and get whatever they can back.
Agree to disagree
The whole PP was awful and continues to be awful with Fox back
Pushed off puck is nebulous. The 3 I mentioned don’t push anyone off pucks or clear creases either and they have size. Their turnovers way worse than the net positive zone exits of jones
A team can have at most one of the Jones/Fox type mini-defenders. It is simple physics – inertia – that they are unable to move opponents of significantly greater mass away from the netfront (or really, anywhere else).
I think the value proposition on Fox has declined and now we are upon the dreaded NMC with a big cap hit. For comparision, at ES, Jones puts up assists at just under 60% of Fox’s rate but has shown little ability to score goals.
I’d probably move on from both and be fine with a bigger defender who is 50% of Fox offensively but at a 5-6M cap hit. Less GA and get the forwards to step up their production to make up the difference.
Soucy has played ok w Fox; has a decent shot and is game on the wall, in 9 games; 1-2-3 +1; Jones 1-10-12 -1 in 41 games. Kid just doesn’t make enough plays to make up for D liability.
Me thinks de Haan needs to play for Miller if they really want to make the POs, but maybe Dreary doesn’t want to hurt KAM’s value.
While I usually agree with a lot of SN takes I would say that soucy probably has the worst shot on the team or close to it
I’m not an advanced metric person
Does anyone with knowledge of defensive metrics beyond plus minus know what they say about jones’ defensive liabilities?
Quite curious
My eye test says jones is a better defender than several other slouches we are running out there and his size is the biggest gripe against him
But I see him using the tools he has to do pretty good overcoming that detractor
Size doesn’t seem to matter to a great team like Avs
Lindgren is their biggest defender some nights
Forwards control the game; when the forwards are not controlling the game, it puts a lot of strain on the D which is NYR main issue of not possessing the puck enough to alleviate pressure on D.
Leonard signed today. According to Brooks, Perreault will be in NY tomorrow. Not signed as of yet.
Do dmen physically move opposing forwards anymore? Isn’t it interference? Been a while since I saw a dman in a ranger jersey do it. Usually they like to watch opponents stand near the crease, typically from some safe distance away like an ornothologist trying not to startle a rare kakapo
Lindgren is 6’0″ 195. Jones has been recently upgraded to 190 from I believe 175 and is claimed 5’11”. Fox listed 5’11, 180. From NHL bio info, 24/25 defenders who have played at least 20 games:
Shortest: 5’9″ Tallest: 6’8″
Lightest: 162lb Heaviest: 252lb
Mean and median height are both 74.0″ (6’2″)
Mean and median weight are 204.5 and 204.0
Ricola…remember him being pretty good as a rental that Drury didn’t want to re-up for a whopping 2.5 per
wwpd I never thought Kaapo Kakko startled that easily 🤣
Emily Kaplan saying Perreault is signing.
Wish we still had mikola
But yes. That was Busch League !
Is 5’11 190 really that mush different than an inch taller and 10 lbs heavier? Me thinks not
The game is different now, from when you needed 5 beukabooms
Kappo kakapo of the Seattle krakapos
Lindy never looked 6’0 to me. Phil Simms never looked 6’3 either.
You should see what I look like.
Lafreniere will get the hat against the Wild Wednesday. “Pour me another.”
NHL GMs more and more note and emphasize size into their mathematics, especially on D. To say they don’t and that it’s a diminished consideration and a new age is plain hooey.
Frenchie possesses the latent talent to perform that feat on any given night. That he doesn’t and won’t is his shamefaced indictment.
Let me just state my great disappointment in not having to stay up to 1am (or later) again tonight to watch the NYR on the west coast. 🤣
Ah Drury…. Way to show your dumbassery knows no bounds. Let’s burn that year off the ELC because this is sooooo the year we win the cup, and Gabe is the final piece to the puzzle.
Man, this organization is one wrong move after another……
When ‘speed’ is mentioned re: Perreault, the word is invariably accompanied by ‘of mind.’ His BC coach, understandingly eager to promote the kid, sez he’s ‘shown improvement’ on defensive responsibilities, which tells us he’s woefully lacking. We need him here, now?
If you want him next season, you have to have him here now. It’s that simple. This is what ALL teams do with their top college prospects. This is not a Chris Drury invention.
Size is a factor i agree. And should be consideration
Performance should too.
To me jones has performed better than half the other D we currently have. Specific to this team.
Doesn’t mean he isn’t traded or if I mind trading him at all. Just what we are running out there currently
I’m still waiting for someone to compare advanced metrics and tell me how wrong I am
ditto, Corp
Bobby Orr. – case in point – 6’0, 195.
BC kid will be in Hartford next season, not MSG.
so this Gabo kid is signed. now what?
Ross Perot, come get the Stanley Cup!
Perreault is in their plans for next. Starting the season in Hartford, is inconsequential.
Only rangers fans can be upset about the team signing one of the best prospects in hockey. Unbelievable.
It’s not really a question of when they sign Perrault, it’s more of a question of when they screw up his development and turn him into another first round bust. One of the few things we can count on as Ranger fans.
His BC coach should have prepared him better for NHL minutes with the New York Rangers by playing him 5:00 minutes a game on the fourth line with unskilled players.
Once Perrault proves he won’t shoot the puck, he will be pass happy, he won’t throw a check or compete on the boards and refuses to play any type of defense, then maybe he can move up to the top 6.
I think we’re all being a bit hard on Laviolette.
Laviolettem’coast
Laviolette came with a reputation of relying too much on vets, and I haven’t seen anything he’s done in his time here to change that perception.
19:04
Sarcasm!
Gaby baby will hoist the chalice!
I can see Laviollette giving the new kid 3 minutes of ice time….or even worse putting him with the Huggy Twins
Eli said hard on
If the kid’s offensive talent is exceptional but he is mistake prone (defensively irresponsible), then you adjust and put players around him that can react and defuse some of his miscues, at least until he improves the rest of his game.
…and where you gonna find some of those…? 🙂
6’3″ 198 lbs… plays goalie but maybe can be converted to defense 😉
Any athlete at UCONN is a serious dude ’cause (if you’ve ever visited you know) there sure ain’t nuttin’ happenin’ in Storrs, Ct.
NYR PR on Perreault says he’s reporting to NY, not Hartford.
Wilson was right. The agent obviously demanded and got, but it’s senseless to me and just another example of Dreary’s inane largesse.
Wilson Phillips was right. Things’ll go your way if you hold on for one more day.
Callum Tung will lead them
Love that Ranger promo with the little laughing girl wearing a face cage and ‘sick’ customized Ranger skates. The rest of their promos are lame to the max.
Tung is not dung!
Did not know who Tung was until the hockey east playoffs. I find the signing interesting in that Quick is back next year, and there is not NHL availability for Garand. Wonder if this means Garand has a new home next season.
Dreary should hold his Tung.
Tung at times can be a depressor.
If the tallest guy in the NHL is listed as 6’8, how is Rempe 6’9? Look closely at his elevator skates. He’s really 5’10 and a quarter.
The big question now is – where will Perreault play on Wednesday? If it is not top six wtf is the point?
He’s also another LW that seemingly will be forced to play the opposite side. Have to assume that he’ll replace Brodude in the lineup but will they put LaCoast back on the right to spare the newbie not just the change to NHL speed but change of side too?
Coos – read more closely. Those were defensemen.
Tung and groove in net, a perfect fit.
Ridiculous bringing the BC kid here now and for more than one reason.
Call me petty but I’d hardly be interested in helping or sharing any knowledge with some undersized acned teenaged kid they’re bringing in to replace me.
They are gonna put him with Huggy twins
and bump Johnny to 4th line with Andre Kubel out
It would add some drama to the final couple weeks if Perreault challenged Kreider to be the last one off the ice.
UCONN roundball girls are awesome.
Most of you guys do a great job of boring me to death.
coos
“Thank you, thank you very much.”
He’s with Miller and Lafrenière.
Why is Drury signing goalies when Twerkin is signed for the next 8 years?
The answer to that question is this. The Rangers need, at minimum, 6 goalies in the system for the 3 teams. NHL, AHL, ECHL. Plus you probably need two more for injury call up purposes. It is never a bad thing to sign goalies.
He’s with Miller and Laffy …for 4 minutes
Hooters Restaurants just filed for bankruptcy due to lack of support.
First reports:
Praccy lines. Personally I think Cuylle with Bread/Tro and Othmann with Kreider/Mika is better but 🤷♂️
Poor Cullye
Why is Kandre anywhere near a Powerplay
He can’t handle the puck or get a shot through
Traffic
Rempe is on the ice in green.
Perreault:
“Obviously, wasn’t an easy decision at all. Leaving those guys, a lot of my best friends, brothers for life. Wasn’t easy. I just thought it was the time to take the next step. I thought my brain was definitely ready.”
Hopefully no zombies on the ice…
Nothing to do with the 3 million $ guarantee, of course.
Anybody hear who Gaby Baby is playing with?
That new top 6 has one guy over 200lbs
Shaky back end to say the very least.
The entire forward group has 4/12 over 200; mighty mites!! The mid-80s smurfs return
Busto is not a smurf, although he does play like one.
Othman with Kreider and Mika I agree I think would be better
I like cuylle up with bread and tro
Leave Othman where he is ..he’s getting some traction and ice time
The better move would be to have Perrault play in Laf’s spot and let Laf watch from the stands. It serves two purposes, it tells the new kid right away, if you don’t try. you don’t play. Mistakes are OK, lack of effort is a fatal offense. That message needs to be sent to this entire team, not just Laf and Perrault. That message has not been sent, so that is why they are in the position they are in.
Having KAM on the PP should be a fireable offense. Laviolette is just asking for another short handed goal against. Lav needs to be shown the way to the taxi stand and should meet Drury there, so they can share a cab out of town.
Mkh I think that horse has left the barn already this season. Up to the next coach to do those kind of things. If they don’t get WC2 he shouldn’t be too tainted by 7 games.
So the whole Smurf thing got me to thinking.. what is the typical size of a forward today? Below are the stats. I broke into two groups. Initially I was going to use 15m TOI but then decided to go with shifts. The median number of shifts is 19 so I split it there. The data set was all forwards who have played in at least 20 games this season.
What we see is 6’1″ is typical, regardless. However, the forwards getting more shifts tend to be 2.5 lbs lighter 196.5 vs 199 for the median weights.
…but…you can’t take for gospel athletes’ listed height/weight. The numbers we fans see are often player or agent machinations. Kids start lying about this stuff in High School, looking 4 scholarships. Teams do measure and weigh, but rarely issue any bona fide info.
I think I know the answer but why must Kreider be the last one off the ice. Proposed lines according to Mollie I like a lot. #16 in my mind is the surrogate Captain.
Coos I do the best with what I have. You need to bring your concerns to Bettmann 🤣
Serious question- Do we really think certain players are lazy (Laffy for instance) or they just “appear” to be bc of poor hockey IQ and/or aren’t wired to play the game the way we’d like them to?
The right thing to do
So a good night would be wins by Craps, Panthers, Sabres, Preds, Lightning and Blues.
16:51. – My ‘concerns?’
Tell us who smiley-faces and sour-faces to prevent misunderstandings. If I have a concern, that’s it.
Someone check the can for E3
Coos. You can always count on me for many of your smileys’
You should be at least a Sergeant. 🙂
Steve Vickers wore an old Army coat with chevrons, so they called him ‘Sarge.’
Not a good start to the night if your scoreboard watching….
‘He had a cane and derby hat…
They called him Bat, Bat Masterson.’
Figure BJs win that one but need Habs and Ott to lose along with, of course, the Azzdancers
SN,
I don’t even know why I/we care so much. We all know this team doesn’t have the goods. Win a round against the Caps? Maybe, but doubtful. After that? They’re not winning 4 rounds.
Please, someone who cares about Fillip Chtil tell him to STOP. How many concussions does he need before it sinks in that this game is not for him. He most likely will have long term health problems as it is.
No NHL team should ever let him play again.
Damn shame.
Wow…Nashville getting pounded
I turned on the panther game just now and Montreal tied it with 20 seconds left in the third🤦🏼♂️
Back out of the playoffs. Not that Columbus was going to keep us in it.
Aaaand that’s it
Unreal. That was like watching the rangers.
Montreal takes 4 points from the Panthers in 2 games.
That should give us hope in two weeks. Panthers suck right now.
At least we lasted almost a minute against Anaheim. Lol
Ev – they tied it with 8 seconds left. This after not having a SOG the last 8 minutes.
Is Rempster concussed? That fight with the King didn’t look so bad for him. What is the deal?
Tragic number is down to 15
Yeah…. Our boys ain’t sniffing the post-season.
What a shame the Habs have a far easier schedule than we do. That freeken Anaheim games gonna come back to haunt us
Loneranger,
Oh- that’s the one? I’m fairly certain they met their quota and then some for games that would come back to haunt them. Half the season should be haunting them.
For rempe I’m wondering if it’s shoulder or something from the awkward dance he had with Jeannot
When he tripped down and then back up. Some awkward twist he wasn’t ready for
Very sorry for Chytil. Good kid. He probably should have retired last year.
Thx Corporal – he did twist awkwardly…..

Got something for you not appropriate for the blog 😉
Game 7s from here on in. Let’s see if they bring the requisite level of desperation tonight. I assume we get to see their new toy tonight. They didn’t sign him to be pruch’d.
Nice of Mollie to raise expectations for the kid on his first night 🤔
Ryan Leoanard played 2nd line with Caps
Last night and got 14 minutes ..and that’s
A good team
A Mollie summary:
Rempe will not play tonight but sounds like back soon
on the ice for optional: Jones, Lafrenière, Rempe, Perreault, de Haan, Quick, Berard, Aube-Kubel, Vaakanainen, Othmann and Pärssinen
Eyegor in net tonight
Lavi confirms Gabo-Miller-LaCoast line tonight for the pro debut.
NHL and Rogers to agree on new Canuck broadcast contract. Per Rogers: The financial terms are comprised of escalating annual payments that will total $11 billion paid to the NHL over the 12-year term.
Thats in Canadien seeing they are in Oh Canada.
Seems like both ‘optional and ‘mandatory’ skate and/or 20 minute ‘practice’ useless in that few show up for #1 and what kind of ‘practice’ has any relevance for 20 minutes?
I can’t imagine driving all the way out to the practice facility and putting on all the gear for 20 minutes than taking all the gear off
Isles’ Duclair showing in spades why he’s so oft-traded.
Despite all that has been said and done, I think there is little room for argument that Kreider and Tro are the leaders of this group
JT and Kreids were tight in their yutes; rumors of the two of them hitting the town a little too hard were whispered when JT was thrown in to TB trade. JT is also buds w Tro from the Burg Yute hockey days.
Bread seems to be less than engaged from a leadership standpoint. Let’s his play do the talking.
Guess Foxy is the D Capt/Leader
Meeka is in limbo w JT arrival and drop off in play.
Net-net; this will be JT’s team, a leader with an attitude, something missing since Cally.
Also believe the role of Captain has been diluted in the Era of 4th line millionaires
Duclair fan in the audience. ID yourself and state your reasoning or shoot your nasty anonymous self.
Anthony Duclair has only been on 9 different teams. What does that say about the GM’s who gave him a contract. Maybe our GM is not the worst of the bunch.
If he is still here next year( which I believe he will be) then who he trades and what players he keeps will tell us if we are heading in the right direction.
For me the biggest “tell” will be what he does with Miller, Zib,Kreide and Bread. Make or break for his job at MSG.
What’s wrong with Bread ..someone needs to score
Great to see this news. JD and Sam were my 2nd favorite tv voices after Bill Chadwick and Jim Gordon.
Welcome home JD.
JD presents Sam with 750 mll. bottle of 2025 Ohio Beaujolais Nouveau rot gut.
That is amazing news !!! Better not be an April fools joke
At very least Sam doesn’t lose out to national broadcasters on his last hurrah
I am sooooo happy to hear JD one more time in the booth. Wow
