The NY Rangers, 1st in the Metro division, travel to Philadelphia, PA to take on the Flyers at the Swell Fargo Center. This is the second of four games against the Filth this season; the Rangers won the first, 3-1 on 24 November. Rumors that the Ranger pre-game meal is Geno’s cheesesteaks with Wiz are false and were started by that abomination Gritty.
The Rangers are 9-1-0 in their last ten; with a win today they will match the franchise record for consecutive wins. The much improved Flyers are 5-4-1 in their last ten games with a win over Chicago the most recent but also including victories over Winnipeg and Florida.
Statisically, the Flyers are pretty much rock bottom on the power play at just 13.3%. However, they are 2nd in the league on the PK at 86.5%.
Without any word the contrary as the Rangers did not hold a skate yesterday, Shesterkin (24-12-1, 2.74 GAA, 0.907 SV%) is likely in goal again. Ersson (16-10-4, 2.58 GAA, 0.900 SV%) is expected for the Flyers.
The referees will be Chris Rooney and Francois St-Laurent with linespersons CJ Murray and Brad Kovachik.

Very tough, heavy charged and tense game. To the point, that it is hard to watch. Phila really surprise and deserve to be respected this season, thanks to Torts, obviously. Rangers defense was good so far.
I’m very impressed with the Flyers in this game. They are hanging right with the Rangers and deserve to feel good about where they’re game’s at.

Good screen and glad he got in the books for something non-penalty related. However, hus far Rempe looks like a fine guy to have as extra forward who gets regular time in regular season, but not someone who should sniff a playoff roster…..the latter you could say about Mika too at this point!

Apparently Rempe is the new gunslinger in town and everyone wants to challenge him to a duel. So far he’s piling up the bodies. Hopefully we won’t have to keep doing that and if he keeps slapping guys around like he has maybe he won’t have to. He and Edstrom are two huge machines.

Watching this game on ABC was painful. Whoever is the director of the crap needs to watch the way others have done it before. Way to many close ups of players on the bench when play was on and of course when there are any get togethers on ice they take the camera off the stuff we all want to see.
Agree with whoever said Stall looks like gritty. By the way what a crap mascot,but what can you expect from Philly. If Torts does not wear out his welcome in 3 years this team will be hard to beat.

Was out with the wife earlier, just finished watching the recorded clown show. I said this about a week ago. The Rangers do not handle a tenacious forecheck very well. The flyers were all over them. If it wasn’t for Twerkin they get run over. But hey, 10 straight baby!
somehow they keep finding ways to win. It’s strange. I like it — I like it a LOT — but it’s uncanny, consistent, and very strange.
They have yet to hit their stride, despite winning 10 straight games.
