Nils has trouble with the simplest of plays…..how many times in two games has he whiffed trying to make a simple pass? I’d guess that Goodrow will slot in for Kakko and Barron will play w Blais and Chytil.

Kravtsov situation reminds me of a story when I was 12. Family trying to win me roller blades “down the shore” on one of those wheel games on the boardwalk. My mother switches the number she’s playing (I object, you don’t change numbers) and, of course, the old one comes out. I basically throw a mini tantrum and walk half a block away. New number comes out on the next spin, and they win them. Family calls me back and have to do the walk of shame to pick out my prize.

Just spoke to Gerard Gallant, who said he’s hopeful they’ll get Kakko back sometime soon after the minimum seven days on IR. Indicated he doesn’t believe it’ll be a long-term thing, FWIW #NYR
Absolutely. This goes without saying—the entire PROcess needs to be re-evaluated:
“Drury needs to take a long, hard look at his player development personnel. Blame the players all you want, and rightfully so. But he needs to admit that there were mistakes made with both Kravtsov and Anderson. It’s either their selection process or their development program. Or both.”

they have no RW depth anymore even with a healthy kakko. Say all you want about Goodrow doing the little things (hasn’t stood out to me yet, but no rush), however he has not looked like a top 6 player thus far.
Would put Blais there over him and not sure he’s quite there yet either
Chytil has done well on faceoffs thus far, which is a positive. no need to move him to the wing just yet
E3
You can’t spell cockoh without a cock
James G
Pete that’s because Goodrow ISNT a top six player.
Why you’d try to point that out is kind of beyond me.
Do you think his contract equates to having to play and score like a top six?
If so That’s ridiculous.
Putting him on Panarins line is no different than having Fast or Blackwell or any other bottom six guy on that line the last couple of seasons. It’s to provide a pick retriever/ board battler.
Pete
no i think it means he shouldn’t play top 6 period. Be nice to put a winger across from one of the best passers in the league who you know could actually score

Solid road win. I thought Zibanejad was awful for the first period and a half, and then turned it on. He was very good in the third.
Panarin needs to get going.
I can see the Rangers having the blueprint for a very solid team.
Nice to see LaFrenchman get a goal in front of his family and homies. Maybe the kid will relax a little and get going.
I would think we see Tinordi Monday. Nils has been overwhelmed.
Underrated part of Shesterkin game is his puck handling. He was great at it last night.
Shesterkin did what he is supposed to do as a #1 goalie make big saves, it’s a winning formula.

Krapsawft needs a good parent to tell him to get his chit together.
Suddenly, after Buchnevich trade and Kravtsov debacle, their perceived depth on the R wing is being tested.
Reilly Smith inbound.
Drury needs to take a long, hard look at his player development personnel. Blame the players all you want, and rightfully so. But he needs to admit that there were mistakes made with both Kravtsov and Anderson. It’s either their selection process or their development program. Or both.
Nils has trouble with the simplest of plays…..how many times in two games has he whiffed trying to make a simple pass? Against the stars on their first goal he was spun around like a top by a rookie playing in his first game. Color me not impressed. He is in way over his head. And I’d send him down yesterday.
Cheadle is fine until someone gets physical with him. Once that happens he disappears like a fart in the wind. Plays like a girlie – man.
Kakko’s been placed on IR….
No Bueno.
Barron recalled
Kravtsov not too bright?
For that matter neither is OTBG?
Rangers 8
Leaves 0
GwG: The red Barron
No idea how reputable the source is…. But our boy is back in Mother Russia already…
Bring up Rempe
Bring up Manny Malhotra!
Kravtsov should do the walk of shame.
Gmen 4
Rams 28
Gmen 3
2nd half is the comeback
Gmen 59
Rams 28
I guess Vitali is Softendahedov. He bought a round trip ticket when he came over.
Gravy – Cockoh’s shoulder just turned up in my backyard
Is it fair to say the Giants need to send out a “letter” to the fans and blow the whole thing up? They seem to be incompetent from top to bottom.
“but man, does he (Troobuh) ever play his heart out!”
Plenty of guys around the league play their hearts out for half the paycheck.
That day to day for KK just got a lot longer. GG is no doctor. Shoulder separation?
Gmen will go 1-16 this year …..heads be rolling
If it’s a shoulder separation it usually continues throughout a players career? Shoot the puck Barry!
Doctors putting Kakko’s spleen back in. Out another 4 hours.
This just in: Kakkko had another letter “K” implanted into his last name. According to doctors procedure was successful.
Tinordi has only had 1 game
1 bad shift with 2 horrid turnovers
But a very solid preseason. And decent rest of his first game.
He was ok on Boston last year too. Pete really hates him for some reason though
Nils needs some Hartford time no doubt about it.
Bidetto or tinordi or reunenen or hajek
Take your pick. Maybe build up Hajeks value is the best thing to do with that spot at this point.
Glad Barron is gonna get a look
If strome has to miss too then:
Laffy Zika Kreider
Panerin Chytil Blais
Gautier Barron Goodrow
Hunt Rooney Reaves
You can’t spell cockoh without a cock
Pete that’s because Goodrow ISNT a top six player.
Why you’d try to point that out is kind of beyond me.
Do you think his contract equates to having to play and score like a top six?
If so That’s ridiculous.
Putting him on Panarins line is no different than having Fast or Blackwell or any other bottom six guy on that line the last couple of seasons. It’s to provide a pick retriever/ board battler.
no i think it means he shouldn’t play top 6 period. Be nice to put a winger across from one of the best passers in the league who you know could actually score
There is the way some fans want a their team to play, and there is the way teams need to play to win. Most of the time, not the same thing.
Ive decided I like Mollie Walkers writing. Shes only like 24 yo and in her infancy of writing for the post, but she is solid and enthusiastic. Carving out a spot on the beat for baseball and hockey is not an easy thing to do. She will only get better too as she gains experience and perspective. When larry hangs it up, Im glad she will be able to take the reigns it seems.
CCCP: Tiedän, että olet vitsi, mutta rehellisesti sanottuna suomen kielellä on paljon konsonantteja. He sanovat, että unkarin kielellä on yhtäläisyyksiä.
Woody Jones didn’t look at all like he had been out a week with a concussion. He was seeing the receiver clearly. Just was confused about the uniform.

Agreed. Ms. Mollie writes very simply and very direct without much coloration or hyperbole. The Rangers news is in good hands with her. Just tell it like it is, and throw in some nice scoops. I don’t need, nor want to hear about the “impatient owner” for the 29th or 30th time.
They are floating a story now about the Ranger scout in Europe getting fired because of promises he made to Andresson and Kravtsov. This seems too convenient. I am suspicious that this is a CYA move by the FO. Almost as bad as blaming it on a dead guy.
petulant
Incorrigible
Jimmy Hayes died with fentanyl, cocaine in system: ‘Completely shocked’ – NY Post
Lafrenier, Zibanejad, Kreider
Panarin, Chytil, ? My guess is Goodrow.
Blais, Barron, Gauthier?
Hunt Rooney, Reeves
Another possible option is Barron comes in on the wing, and McKegg plays.
Also suspect we see Hajek tonight.
Bdl
You’re right they don’t a chance without McKegg?
Kravtsov from Motha Russia…”Now the Ranger know what I’m missing.”

Unreal move by Foxy in defensive zone to get the play started on the winning goal by Laffy
Here’s another gift from China that keeps on giving. Fentanyl.
If you take 3 apples from 10 apples, how many apples do you have?
Carp retiring?!
C3
He’s only 26?
C3
That’s easy a bag of S’s!
November 1st he’s done.
Wtf?
Visit The Athletic
Let’s see he shows up on RR2 11/1/21?
Well that sucks. Happy for him but that’s upsetting. I mean I’m 40 and I’ve been reading his articles since I was 12.
I wonder if Carp moves to St Pete lol!
Sad day today. Our blog father retires at the end of the month!
Do we all pass the hat and send him something 🤔🤔🤔
Miss Sioux graduates from Columbia this year, and I’ve read his work longer than I’ve known my daughter. So when I took her NY the first time, I took her to a game and Carp took time to say hi. Great guy.
I feel a deep sadness for Jimmy and Kevin’s father. I’ve walked that “mile” it’s not easy.
Good for Carp. Bad for Rangers fans who read the athletic. You know who will replace him, everybody’s favorite chart maker. Good luck with that.
Good for Carp.
Best wishes on retirement, and thank you for job superbly well done!
Thank you Carp.
Your articles were always welcome company at my breakfast table along with a cup of coffee after every game. I’ve also read one of your books, and your brilliant witty and warm personality always shines through on whatever media you choose to write on. Thank you so much, and if there were such a thing as raising the numbers of “regular folks” like you and I to the rafters, your number 26 would hang for longer than a lifetime! God bless.
Shania Twain replacing Carp? My heat map just go hard
I know a perfect place for a newly retired journalist who still wants to ‘stay in the game’ but not have to write the articles…
While no longer an ‘Athletic Supporter’, I am hoping they do better than posting stats for the brunch crowd as an excuse for insight.
I really hope carp comes home to share what’s on his mind here. Whenever he wants and I hope that is frequently.
Maybe some guest posts? Some campfire stories over the summer ?
so happy I cancelled by Athletic Sub; perfect timing.
Had a feeling something was up with Carp and that internet rag. Long live the King.
Best of luck to Carp…enjoy Del Boca Vista!
Carp was the only reason I paid for LoHud and the Athletic. I can start canceling subscriptions.
Well, looks like I can let my Athletic subscription lapse now. That will mean that I am no longer an Athletic supporter. Happy for Carp, sad we will no longer benefit from his reporting.
Oof….I didn’t have a great morning to begin with….and now this.
Best of luck, Rick. Saying we will miss you is an understatement.
Loooks like Jimmy Hayes got a bad batch… autopsy results: fentanyl and cocaine
Happy for Carp. Will miss his musings. Like others here, he was the only reason I subscribed to The Athletic. We’ll see who replaces him before I cancel.
I guess there’s a new blogfather to be appointed.
Won’t be Luszczyszyn.
Luszczyszyn’s a pimp. He never could have out fought Carpiniello.
But I didn’t know until this day that it was Mercogliano all along….
Mercogliano would be good. So would Mollie Walker.
Hopefully it doesn’t go all heat maps. I like someone who occasionally watches a game. I have to look when my subscription ends. They had really good SF Giants coverage that I followed this year.
Would like to see Barron tonight
The Jorma injury seems tailor made for Goat Boy to show something to the brass and fans. Use that big body on the wall and finish!
Mike Hunt – The Red Baron – Reavo could be fun to watch.
Congratulations Carp Hit em straight……
43 years of a press pass coverage at the Garden, all crammed into a 26 year old body. Sounds like a dream job, if not for the 1 hour deadline for the Ranger Report. That’s a dream job for most of us.
Barron gets the call up, I hope we get to see him play tonight. Another player that I liked more than KRAPsov.
Carp will always be welcome here
Congrats, Carp! A well deserved break! But please, don’t be a stranger.
Perhaps a review or two, to feed the Boneheads 👍👍
Congratulations, Carp! Be happy. Be healthy.
Carp the Minx says retirement is great!
Minx is right. I’ve been retired 4 years now. I love it!
SN said mike Hunt
Ricardo – stop by and I’ll regale you with stories about Torts and his tiny car seat while sitting on the can.
Mike Hunt – Red Barron – Reavo is a solid 4th line for tonight but given that Kegger didn’t have a bad game vs the Hab nots……
Lmao Mike hunt
Best wishes in your future endeavors, Carp. Your writing & my reading your writing go way back. Be well!
Shay Hey it isn’t so!
When I was a little kid, Willie Mays lived in a mansion in my neighborhood. For some reason, he had no grass , just dirt for years. Still haven’t figured that out.
Drury better not give up Whinesoft for nothing. He has the upper hand here if Whinesoft ever wants to play in the NHL correct?
