Good Morning Boneheads. I wanted to give you guys a clean page to kill time before the game tonight. As you all probably know by now, Shesterkin will make his return tonight against the Flyers. The Rangers also have Vitali Kravtsov cleared from covid protocol and practicing with the team. I’d assume Quinn will wait until he’s back on the bench before Kravtsov plays a game.

Tommy, I’d stake it around 18 games. I give him a lot of grief but I’m glad he’s back. Kinkaid has done a nice job aside from that OT debacle against Philly. But with that said, they’ll need Igor playing and playing well if they want to fight it out for that last playoff spot.
Minx, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Georgiev elsewhere after the deadline. I think his issue is his compete level. No coincidence that he upped his game once Kinkaid came in and competed hard. He has the tools he just doesn’t seem to have the mental strength. It’s a shame.

Anyone see Logan Couture drop like a sack of potatoes after that Jeff Carter hit last night? Clean hit unless Carter had the butt end there when he made contact. Looked more like Couture wasn’t expecting to get hit going for the empty net though.

Maybe Georgiev ends up in Seattle. I would be OK with Kinkaid for the back up for a year or 2. So I watched a couple games last night and I did not notice anything different from the referees. Personally, I hate this game management garbage. Call the rules in the rule book and be done with it. The players will adjust. A penalty is a penalty. Evening out PP opportunities is nonsense.
I’ll just go ahead and say it. If they managed to make the playoffs I want Kinkaid as back up.
TYM, It’ll be interesting to see if it stays that way once the refs are tested. Once the playoff races tighten in the next couple of weeks and as the playoffs begin, the scrutiny is going to intensify.
Georgie has little value now; downside of having the goalie whisperer in your corner is when you do not improve, the league may have a higher raised eyebrow than with other teams. Still young so we shall see. Maybe drafting goalies so high wasn’t a bad thing.

I don’t think US teams will deal with Canadian teams for run of the mill deals.. and I highly doubt anyone pays a big price for guys like Eckholm unless its a Cup or die season for someone..

I think it’s either going to be a deterrent or you’ll see any deals between US/Canada team getting done 10+ days prior to the deadline. No one wants to pull a trade and have a player on Covid Protocol quarrantine for 14 days afterwards. Players need to get up to familiarize themselves with a new team/coach/system obviously. If there’s an alternative player of interest within the respected borders, I would think GMs will opt to go for those deals.
Really this weekend and this upcoming Monday is when I’d expect things to happen if they’re going to happen.
