The probably work that Panarin bad luck play is that there was no one supporting behind him. Even the defensemen were higher than him.

Missed most of 1st. What I have seen is kittens that are tougher and rougher than this team. Night and day what devs do to us in their end vs the welcome mat we put out in our end for them.

They were playing a team that was averaging 5 goals against per game before tonight. The power play units literally had to just show up to make it work. It takes a pathetic display to make it look tough to score against that team.
Oh but the Panthers’ ex backup goalie was on the Devils’ bench so you know- it was their game 7, Sam…

Great comment on the radio by Dave Maloney. He said that in the last few years we have not had anyone play hard vs the Devils or Islanders. How sad and embarrassing. There are so many players that need to go for us to get better; but 2 who I will not miss are Kreider and Skeji . Move them before the trade deadline and PLEASE JD add some snarl and testicles to this bunch of mopes.
Alex I have a better understanding of what you meant by them being slow. And it’s because their puck management /possession game is atrocious. They aren’t thinking the game fast enough. Their passing isn’t crisp, their decision making ing crisp in ANY zone and it’s interrupting the flow of their game.
Unless they’re finding chances off the rush they can’t seem to make anything click.
I know they are both young but Andersson and Howden are not even close to ready for the big show.

That team in 2011-2012 used to just wear teams down. That was the definition of a heavy forechecking team. Man could they cycle the puck down low…. I know the game is different now and you rarely see a cycle game…. but they would keep teams pinned in their own end for shifts at a time. This team? Pffft…. Lucky if they get a shot on net off the rush and then it’s out…..

Not having a viable option at center beyond Mika is going to persist as a problem. And leaving Andersson surrounded by garbage will just be the exclamation point.

Let’s see what happens when they get in a rhythm of playing regularly, but, they looked to really be out of it tonight. Allowed 38 SOGs because (again) they didn’t possess the puck at all in the attacking zone.

They were not slow in the first period, Well except for Staal. I was impressed with how fast they looked and their ability to move the puck out of their own end. Until Georgie gave up that horrid goal to Coleman. Then the whole thing unraveled. the last 2 periods they rarely had the puck. The rebuild has accelerated but it is not over. The bottom 6 is still very weak and the #2 Center spot is a black hole right now.

The only thing that irritates me about this game is another head shot on a Ranger player with zero retribution. The fact that the Hulk Hogan elbow by Hall only garnered a 2 minute penalty is just icing on that cake. What is Haley dressing for, exactly?
