The Rangers played their first game since early February but the result was in line with the prior two months. At times they looked good enough to win but in the end, found way to lose.
The game started well with a Carrick (4) goal at 09:56 of the first period, Raddysh (6) and Borgen (4) with assists and a 1-0 NYR lead after one period of play. Just 01:23 into the second, Lafreniere (13) put himself in the right place at the right time (net front) to chip in a Cuylle (15) pass. Trocheck (25) would get the secondary. Midway through the period the Filth would get one back when Michkov (14) would get his first of the night on the PPG. 2-1 NYR after two.
As has been common for some time, the Rangers gave up a goal in the first or last 90 seconds of a period, starting the third with a Zegras (21) goal at 00:39. Game tied at two and where it would end regulation. The Flyers made short work of the NYR in the OT with Michkov (15) getting his second of the night, making JT Miller look like a traffic cone on zone entry. A good Ranger push net front moments before was for naught as was the PP they brought into the start of the OT. The final, 3-2 PHI.
Game summary below:

Next game is Saturday, 28 February at 12:30 PM EST against the Penguins. Telecast by ABC

I believe I am spared watching the game tomorrow. It is my 6 year old grandsons birthday (special needs child). I have no idea what my wife has planned I do know it doesn’t involve me watching a circus.
Minx you may have to watch a circus but it won’t be the one on skates!
LaCoast didn’t look too bad last night. On the Perreault look somewhat bewildered.
Looks like Bread has the Kings playing defense
Carrick punching Hathaway was the best thing aboot da game
Hope they don’t trade Sammy –he’s a gamer. someone will overpay though
Carrick should get the C and also the Steven Mcdonald extra effort award. Only problems is they will probably trade him and keep Johnny B almost good.
They don’t start the vote until after the deadline to make sure he is still on the team.
Missed the game, how did Fox look? And Mika??
we don’t need Carrick. We have Sheary
🙄
Carrick is a mensch and Sheary is a son-in-law. How many times has Carrick fought guys who are much better fighters. Sheary is another in a very long line of players who will never be remembered.
Foxy looked rusty but ok. Meeka had a decent first 10 minutes but not much rest of game –25 shots not much quality after first period …against a goalie who sucked
The ship is sinking, but the leadership refuses to go down with the ship.
If you go to MSG games now, do you cheer when NYR score, or when their opponents do? Asking for a friend.
7 more days for Meeka to waive!
You steal cheer on the team and root for the win! Don’t worry, the losses will take care of themselves
I was never big on Mika but i feel like he has shown something good this year. He is scoring, showing effect and even got in between the flyer and 94 during a scrum.
Fox is what he is. Which to me is average/ below average defensively and above average offensively.
I agree Carrick should be captain. He is one of the few that i enjoy watching play.He plays the way its supposed be played
The games are a tough watch and i find myself recording it and fast forwarding through it 30 seconds at a time.
Otter we barely knew ya
Is the retool over? Asking for the wolfpack.
Let’s find another vet to plug in. My how much dumber can this franchise get?
Gotta let otter play through it
They let Laffy and kakko coast along
One thing about otter is the effort is there.
Rangers claim Tye Kartye off waivers from Kraken..hope he at lease has some speed
At 5-foot-11 and 202 pounds, Kartye plays with a noticeable physical edge; he ranked third on the Kraken with 98 hits. Kartye is a responsible defensive forward with encouraging short-handed metrics, per Evolving Hockey. He’s struggled to produce offensively in the NHL, although he enjoyed success at lower levels.
We want the cup!
Kartye? Sounds fancy.
“We want the cup!”
…and two girls.
Hmm, “encouraging short-handed metrics”? Well, I’ll definitely pay high ticket prices to go watch that.
JBytes
Dont you love watching encouraging short-handed metrics while eating your $40 corned beef sandwich?
while also enjoying 2nd rebuild in 8 years?
I personally think it’s great! The future is as bright as never 🙂
“Where are all the white women at?”
The sheriff is near!
🤣🤣
Greentree got (3) goals with a 6-1 victory tonight. (32) so far. Lets bring him up as soon as their season’s over.
Greentree has five goals and three assists over his last five games. The Rangers prospect is up to 29 tallies, 27 assists, 145 shots on net and a plus-9 rating over 42 appearances. His 1.33 points-per-game pace is actually his worst in the last three years, but he’s still playing at a pretty high level.
And how are his shorthanded metrics?
Through the roof!
Tonight Mr. Greenjeans with a hattie in Windsor’s 6-1 win over London
Malcolm Spence a goal and 2 assists in Michigan’s 4-2 win over Minnesota. JJ Emery had an assist in NDU’s 5-3 win over Western Michigan.
That’s encouraging. And he’s enjoying success at lower levels! 😁
20, for 20.
Gotta start somewhere, I guess.
Is Foxy whining now too?
Superstar!
Good Friedman stuff on podcast. Said this is buyers market with alot of inventory and teams are waiting things out for lower returns. Not sure how that impacts Trocheck trade if there is a lot of interest but would definitely impact Schneider/Carrack etc. If Drury is not getting proper price on any here he should be holding.
New post will appear as if by magic at 12:20.
Kreider’s 20th was the GWG in OT last night and Trouba scored his 10th.
Kartye sounds like a 4th liner who plays responsible D. Deckchair shuffle no. 4678
