LA comes in 3-3-4 of their last ten though a bit snake bitten – OT losses to VGK, ANA and SJS while splitting shootouts with ANA (L) and MIN (W). They also have regulation wins against MIN and EDM in that span. So perhaps they are better than 3-3-4 suggest. The Rangers are 2-6-2 in their last ten with wins over PHI and FLA and two OT/L against UTA and CAR. Both the wins came in “big” games – FLA outdoors and PHI after the letter.
Quick (3-6-10, 3.13 GAA, 0.887) will try to regroup after a few days off. Quick played well in relief of Shesterkin earlier in the season but has shown his age since coming back from injury and being asked to carry a regular load. Clearly, he needs more than a night off to be at his best. Kuemper (12-9-9, 2.48 GAA, 0.905 SV%) will probably get the nod for the Kings tonight, though Forsberg (7-6-4, 2.60 GAA, 0.903 SV%) had a good start in the losing effort against the Ducks on 17 Jan. Soucy is expected back in the lineup for the Rangers tonight which should mean Vaakanainen comes out.

Well a top 3 goalie and top 10 dman are out….didn’t watch game but 27 shots against still isn’t horrible from a defensive perspective. Looked like 2 of 3 goals were on Quickie and the other forwards not backchecking.
