The Rangers greet some old friends while hoping to book another win at MSG tonight when they face the Anaheim Ducks. Kreider, Trouba, Strome and Vatrano lead the cast of former NY Rangers coming to town with a slightly cooled off Ducks team, 5-5-0 their last ten (recent losses to NJD and NYI) while the NYR are 6-2-2 and coming off the O/T win against MTL.
The Rangers will be without Mika Zibanejad tonight – a health scratch as a result of a missed team meeting. Given this, we expect Brodzinski to be active and center at least one of the top three lines – at this time we don’t have any additional info. In other news, Rempe has been removed from the LTIR but remains a game time decision.

They have held the Duck young guns in check, but they don’t have anyone who stands out. Por Laba is stuck with Johnny B and Berard. Another shutout is always a possibility. They did get the puck to the net more than usual.

Could you hear everyone booing when they couldn’t get the puck out of their end against a passive 1-3-1? That was pitiful. It’s a bad team with very little skill. The only goal they got was on a lucky bounce. No on this team would be on the top pair or top line of a good team.

This is a terrible offensive team. They work very hard to shoot the puck into the logo. Too many AHL players getting big minutes and all their top players on the wrong side of 30. If/when they contend again none of these players will be on the roster. We’re rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

They attempted shots, but mostly from outside and impossible angles. I’d be interesting in seeing Valley’s scoring chance chart for the game. I didn’t see Dostal tested much.
I have said this before. Dark ages ahead boys. Drury is incapable of fixing this, and Dolan doesn’t really care as long as the seats are filled. We are stuck with an 11.5 million dollar average goalie for years to come.
Schneider or Robertson or Morrow would all be better options for PP1 than a 5fwd group
PP2 is an embarrassment in personnel with both Cuylle and Laffy on pp1

Dostal made some tough saves in first, they could have potted two. Sheary could have had a hat trick…
Robertson continues to impress; did not know he could skate so well. The shot was a bit of a fluke but he is able to get his shots from the point through more than others.
Lava is another one who is noticeable every game in a good way.
