Good morning, Boneheads!
Nobody predicted the score, so there is no contest winner. We’ll do it again tomorrow.
If there is a game review by Staple ( or anyone else), I’ll post it later. No wonder no one wants to write anything at the moment.

Glad I stopped watching that drek at 3-0.
They need some time off and the get back home and reset.
It’s funny you called it dreck… thats precisely the word I used to describe it to my wife toward the end of the 2nd period. I regret staying up for it
Thennnnn the bottom falls out and I change up the tempo
The bottom falls out and we change up the song
Look at Gallant ‘cause he might be a d’bag
But Jerry must prove to Twitter he’s not!
Hey Jerry why are you bringing us down man?
Why are you bringing us down?
DONT BRING US DOWN!
Music and lyrics by Stewie Griffin
Out-matched, out-played, out-hustled, and out-coached by the Flames.
Who’s Jerry?
Jake “The Mistake” Troobuh.
We definitely don’t need anyone like that!
I’ve been saying it from day one, Trouba is not a good defensemen, forget about the money part of it which is bad enough and his side partner Miller is worse. I don’t care what coach you bring in when the bottom line is this team as constructed is at best a marginal wild card spot and with some of these bloated contracts on the books with a hard cap I don’t see this team sniffing a chance to win a cup and it’s up to Drury now to fix what the Hedgehog has done. Drury your on the clock.
Take “almost” anyone of our players and place them on teams around the league and they will most likely excel. This organization is a clown show doesn’t matter change the GM, the coach, the system it’s the same result Chaos! I tell ya the curse has been reinstated?
all Krav has to do is book a ticket to hartford and in a couple weeks he could be trying to do that in the NHL (try being the key word as not gonna have tmuch space or time in the NHL)
until he does so, who cares!
I care.
The only difference in the two games was that Kostinen was awful for Edmonton. Otherwise that score would have been one sided too. This a bad team right now. Glad I don’t have to figure out what the problems are. The roster is locked in with big long term salaries and NMCs. They have to make lemonade out of these lemons somehow. You know who is looking best out of all of this? DQ. He can say he made this mess competitive and right now it isn’t.
And yet they are in 2nd place in the Metro
Who embarrasses us Monday? Oh yeah the Sunrise Supermen staring Barkov, Declair, Bennett and a supporting cast of real hockey players!
But wait… there is more!
Panthers (10-0-1) are coming to town tomorrow! They just knocked off the previously undefeated Carolina Hurricanes 5-2….
If you thought getting manhandled at home by the Flames was bad, monday night’s game at M$G against the Panthers could be the smackdown of all smackdowns.
And Larry please write this in your next article Krakko, Lafreniere, and Miller belong in Hartford until they figure out how to play Dude code hockey. They have no business being here! “The Minx has Spoken.”
I still think Dolan has sather whispering in his ear as his consigliere even though Sather is retired and why this mess has been going on since Sather has come to this organization.
BTW I have been following the Athletics’ coverage of the SF Giants and it puts their NY Ranger coverage to shame. They had two solid articles after each game this year as well as a reporter who tracked all their minor league teams on an ongoing basis. They just posted an article on who they will have to expose in the Rule 5 draft. Their coverage of Buster Posy’s retirement has been excellent. Baggarly broke the story and has written several articles since. Brisbee did a Buster’s Greatest unsung moments article that included a 6 minute clip of him framing called third strikes over the years. And yes I watched the whole thing. We got Carp and occasional heat maps. Now we have half a Staple. Brisbee did an article during MadBum’s last season with the Giants that looked at stats and actually reached a conclusion. He looked at velocity and location over time for MadBum’s cutter in particular and made the argument that he was in decline and shouldn’t be resigned. That article got me onboard with their decision to let him walk. I never know what the heat maps are trying to tell me. I honestly don’t read much of their Yankee and Met coverage but I don’t think it is that thorough.
Screww the Giants and Bobby Thompson!
Not to worry boys Phil Kessel is on the horizon and he will stabilize our defensive structure!
3CP,
Kravtsov would be great if he could find a way to sprinkle some KHL Dmen throughout the NHL.
3CP,
I also must say that, I think it was very shortsighted of the Rangers to send Kravtsov down. I’m a Kravtsov believer. I think he has the makings of being a very good two way player. I just wish he didn’t pull the spoiled child routine.
Got home after midnight from Bridgeport so I haven’t seen the game yet. Darryl Sutter didn’t fix the Flames in 12 games. They subtracted their former Norris Trophy winning captain and Sam Bennet and somehow they look like they will contend this year. Obviously, the Flames were a different team from the Rangers. They were already built to try to win now.
The Kravtsov thing is really disappointing. I wasn’t a fan of the pick and wrote him off after he ran home to Russia the first time, but when he came back over and played for those handful of games last season you could see that the kid has a lot of talent. He should have been in the top 9 or a good good trade chip. Now, he won’t play for us and he probably won’t be traded any sooner than Lias was. Sure Drury could reward him and trade him now for a low return, but that would send the wrong message to the guys that are still here and make Kravtsov s complete waste of a pick.
The top 6 needs help. In addition to having to adjust to GG’s system, young guys need to continue to develop, but IMO Drury will also need to make trade at some point this year.
Miller looked like a deer in the headlights in his MSG network interview in Edmonton,(especially when Gianone asked him what part of his game he needs to work on right after he lost his man and they had given up a goal). Gorton and Quinn should have given him some time in Hartford last year and I still think he could use some time there to find his game. As others have said, he’s not playing sheltered minutes. Some time on the 3rd pair might be a place to start.
So last night we had Igor the Colander. NHL takes weekends off so haven’t posted full game stats/analytics yet but just from eye Georgie had a lot more danger from the Edmonton stars than Igor did from Calgary, though shots on goal (and score) the same.
Last 3 games shined a bright light on the fact that rebuild 2 needs to start. As constructed, this team is not even a playoff team, no less a potential Cup winner. Keep Fox and Shesterkin, everyone else can go. If not for Shesterkin and Fox carrying them, their record would be 2-8-2. The Ranger tradition of draft picks and players not playing anywhere close to their expected level of play continues and with salary cap hell coming in the next couple of seasons, things will only get worse. Their only good move this year, was not trading for Eichel. Time to tear it down again, but first move has to be getting rid of Sather completely.
As for the contest against Florida:
Rangers 2, Flames 5
GWG: Barkov
Rangers shots: 24
Flames shots: 29
Have been wondering if GG did not get too cute by half with the goalie schedule this weekend. Why are you not starting your #1 goalie against the #1 team in the west?
My guess is that, knowing Edmonton to be the tougher of the two games on the goalies, GG tossed Georgie to the wolves rather than hurt Igor’s confidence again (he lost 10 days prior to western #2 Calgary with 5 GA). This also set Igor up to redeem himself against the Calgary blowout and give him a real boost if he played well.
Or maybe he just rolled the dice, wtf knows 😉
A significant part of the roster will not be going any where. The rest are movable or expiring. Unless you view Strome the major problem, the top six is mostly set unless you swallow some pride and keep Laffy and Kakko on 3rd line for two or three years. That might be the better way to go. Put Rooney between them if Barron not ready.
NMC: Panarin, Kreider, Zika, Trouba, Fox.
NMC by virtue of draft: Kakko, Laffy
M-NTC: Goodrow, Nemeth
Interstingly, Igor is still movable until start of 23 season.
Mike
On your post the 1st and most important move is to send Krakko, Lafreniere, and Miller to Harford. Cleaning up the the veteran mess with bad contracts is going to take more than a couple of years and these yoots need top line minutes to learn the man’s game. Keeping them here is foolishness and confirms just how clueless this organization is handling young draft picks! “The Minx has Spoken. “
Minx I agree and disagree.
KK I think has made a lot of progress and is just not scoring. Laffy has flashes and generally plays an honest game. What they need is stability and maybe a little less pressure. Making them the wings on a 3rd line for a couple seaons probably works well. Just not sure that they gain much playing against AHL competition every night.
Miller could use time to better develop his defensive talents, even against lesser competition and a less structured opponent. IIRC he is a converted dman so this really is a big jump and you can tell that from his breakdowns. Repetition in an environment where winning is important but not the only thing would do him well.
Rebuild 2 …you guys are hilarious
Currently only two guys in the top six that can buy themselves a goal and one of them is only good for goal scoring.
They need a lot more than Kravtzov right now.
So send Miller to AHL. Then Hajek will play and you guys can moan about how much HE sucks. Oh but they can trade Hajek..maybe bring up Ruenanen. And you can watch him play. And talk about how much HE sucks too. Lol
The problem is this:
They have “grit” and they have “talent.” What they lack are those who possess BOTH….
So, their ability to track down pucks and hold onto them (puck possession) is lacking.
If you don’t control the pace of a game for the bulk of said game, you can’t expect to consistently come away with 2 points.
So, what I’m trying to say is this- Until we have players that fit the mold of say… a Mark Scheifele, etc…. we’ll get our chances… HOPE we cash in… but ultimately NOT have the puck as much as the opposition unless we’re playing a crap team.
Tommy,
What mess did Sather create ? He had a hand in hiring Gallant who gets praise from everyone?
He made them trade Buchnevich Howden from last years roster?
Didn’t want Brendan Smith re-signed?
Or convinced them to bring in the guys who have shown up so far this season not named Chris Kreider?
Failing to see what Sather did and what is so very bad.
This team’s problems (as usual) stem from some well paid vets not getting it done.
Instead of Miller learning, he infects the other D with the shuffleboard routine. When he does throw a body check, it’s when he’s running around out of position.
Bdl
I’m a Kravtsov believer too… If only Rangers managed their **valuable assets** better. They are the professional multi-billion dollar 💸 💵 corporation after all.
Craig I’m seeing your point but I’m thinking it’s more about capable two-way centers. Exactly what I thought would be the Achilles heel for this team this season.
I mean how many teams have a Mark Schiefle -let alone more than one?
Blais crashes into Chytil California at center ice and Sam blurts: ‘I don’t think he meant it…’ No clue as to who hit him until replay. And no word on Chytil injury, all game. Who needs him and the other guy with the painted hair? What game are they watching?
C3,
If Kravtsov were here he’d be playing against NHL players and within Gallant’s system. I don’t think you’d have a savior on your hands.
With that said he probably would be getting first line minutes right now.
He should have been a man about the demotion. Management shouldn’t have had to kiss his butt to make sure he didn’t decide to leave again
Right, Coos. Chytil out yet again injured. I guess this means that next season we’ll continue hearing about how we need to see him play a full season to see how truly wonderful he is and how he should be a Ranger for life.
Grit and talent …like Deangelo…Fast?
Bread’s disconnected on more passes after 12 games than he had all total the previous 2 years.
Beezle
I don’t necessarily disagree with you. But I still think they still need time in Hartford. With LOAF, The, DJ, Stomeo, and Fox they are never going to get the PP time the need. I actually like the Idea of Laffy, Chytil and Krakko, but they are just over matched playing together on the 3rd line.
Cheadle did have a good game vs the earlers. Separated shoulder?
12 games ago, Krusty got wind of his Greenwich school and property taxes.
“Torts just doesn’t have the right players to play his system!”
Torts fired.
“AV just doesn’t have the right players to play his system!”
AV fired
“Quinn just doesn’t have the right players to play his system!”
Quinn fired.
“Gallant just doesn’t have the right players to play his system!”
To be continued….
The sclerosis of systems.
James
It’s not about Hajek sucking it’s about Miller getting better.
I sure hope that the issue is a team acclimating to a new coach and a new system. Because if it is not, the Rangers are not very good and look worse than last year. Their D zone is mostly chaos, unlike the system that was employed by Jacques Martin last year. The dopey play on the first goal against last night was just the start of Rangers being out of position.
Fast, to an extent, yes…. He was a prototypical 3rd line player… very much in the ilk of a Ruslan Fedotenko.
DeAngelo….while talented….was a liability in his own end, so I’m not sold on him. He was best used as a PP specialist.
I’m HOPING that when Schneider, Cullye and Othman are ready…. Possibly Berard… We might have something to work with. But, it shouldn’t have been that way…. We SHOULD be pulling out of the rebuild, and as currently constructed….it’s become apparent (ESPECIALLY when Bread/Mika aren’t dominating shifts) that we’re far from a finished product with games like yesterday providing all the evidence you need.
Look, I know the season is young… but you have to ask yourself… WTF is up with Panarin? He’s supposed to be the straw that stirs the drink, and right now he’s a broken plastic straw that when you take a sip… basically nothing comes up.
I think if we had named SEVEN instead of just SIX alt. captains, we woulda won these last two games easily! 🙂
I got that, Minx. But look at the salary cap and look at the roster. Where is additional help/upgrades coming from?
Not a defense of Miller or Kakko/LaF.
But these are the most NHL competent young guys in the organization right now for better or for worse.
Six worked out, C3.
They could have a different alt captain give him thoughts on each goal against from last night 😳
Years of frustration translates to more years of frustration.
Jeffie must be laughing his assen off watch this circus act.
“How’s the grit treating ya, Mr. little league champ?”
“I’m not going to let this loss ruin my National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day.”
LOL, James.
James Hajek has for all intents been written off by most fans and perhaps the organization. So nobody expecting better play than Miller, though personally I think he would be an upgrade – he was never god awful, just never really wowwed either.
But as Minx said, it is more about trying to get Miller the teaching that he needs in the proper environment for that.
Minx – the reason they don’t get the PP time they perhaps should is that PP unit #1 takes 1:45 of each 2:00. That is on GG and DQ before him and I may be mistaken but thought GG said that was not going to be a thing anymore.
Craig agreed on Bread, really not sure what it is but something is just not right. Sometimes it is better to think of players as ponies. Some days they just don’t have it or want to run, regardless of the betting line.
Miller’s ‘learning’ belongs at Wisconsin.
Honestly James I get it. I am just saying what I see as obvious Laffy, Krakko, Miller, and for that that matter Lundkvist need time in Hartford. And yes that leaves a lot of holes to fill with nothing to fill them. My point, years of continued player mismanagement, mismanagement, mismanagement!
NYR play an anti-puck possession game.
At least half, maybe 2/3 of their offensive efforts are quick fly-bys leading to puck in other end or another neutral zone battle. Am I overstating?
On the defensive end we often get bogged down and a lot of that is because we seem unable to know how to properly get the puck out of the zone. At times it seems like they are telepathically encouraged to toss the puck back to the other team on the wrong side of the blue line 😉
Fact is an athlete improves by playing against his betters, not his inferiors. Having stated that truism, I’m not making any recommendations or advising anything.
Beezle
Agreed it’s on the coach, but if the enabled don’t listen then what? I’m just a fan, but I am tired of the “We need to be better.” “We had some good looks.’ and round and round it goes!
Wahlstrom spent plenty of time in the AHL and he looks pretty darn good against better competition?
Panarin still at a point per game pace…don’t understand the hate
OK my venting is over there is nothing I can do about it anyway. I’ve just gotten too used to disappointment!
Some special talents are going to make it no matter where or what.
Bobby,
His 1st year here, he could take over games and was BARELY ever rubbed out against the boards.
Now, he’s become a non goal scoring Petr Prucha that can dish a nice pass here and there.
He used to be a driver of play which is equally important to the winning of games.
Peter Prucha…hilarious
McCartney…”Stones are simply a good cover band…” What an egomaniacal, solipsistic old wet fart.
I said last season one way to stymie the Rangers is to slam people like Fox all game long.
Monday will be a good indicator of just how good this team really is?
BobbyO,
So far, he’s playing “small”, east-west, and is easily knocked off the puck along the boards.
Any of what I just said inaccurate?
Sooooo my comparison isn’t far off.
That’s not what he IS, but it’s how he’s playing at the moment…. and you’d better hope it doesn’t become a permanent thing.
Craig you have been hating on him all season..he is still the best player in the team
St Pete – I agree that Miller, Laf and Kakko could use time at Hartford. They need to learn the pro game more, Galants system (that should also be followed in Hartford) and gain some confidence. Working on PP and PK down their wouldn’t hurt either. You live with Hajek and Tinordi in the interim. They aren’t going far this season anyway, so build to the future. As for those with NMC, if you tell them they are no longer wanted and you start limiting their minutes, they may be willing to waive their NMC, especially at the trade deadline. Sitting in the press box can change a players perspective. Rangers also need to revamp their entire scouting system. Something is wrong when you consistently miss on 1st and second round picks.
Hating?
No.
I’m observing.
As he goes, the team goes.
I have no reason to “hate.”
I hate. I hate this team.
I’m really not looking forward to Monday night. Chances are we’re going to get slaughtered. The Panthers beat Carolina yesterday without Barkov and without Bobrovsky, who’s been playing out of his mind this season. That team is deep. Waaaaaay deep.
Anthony Duclair who drafted him anyway? I heard the guy would never amount to much and would be passed around from one team to another. Probably mismanaged from the beginning, it’s possible?
If they send guys down it looks like they are throwing in the towel on the season. I don’t see them doing that. If Kravtsov hadn’t flown the coop calling him up would be an easy call. Now it looks like you are giving into his BS. Not a good situation.
You really gotta wonder about Drury and all his decisions. I honestly believe it became personal with Lias Anderson and Kratsov. Also D’Angelo who’s going bonkers with the Canes. Now we add Duclair and trading Buchevich. HE HAS NOT MADE THIS TEAM BETTER. Misusing a lot of Gorton’s draft picks.
Kravtsov was ready to play and got that impression from the Rangers. Sometimes swallow pride and go with the talented diva. We could use him right now on right wing. This management makes me sick. Gallant has not impressed me so far. Somebody needs to kick this team in the freeken. ass.
3CP…..regarding last post vis a vis Kratsov and Rangers handling of their prospects….I could not agree with you more. It is a complete clown show.
Kravtsov is not ready but Kakko and Laffy are! lol

CCCP I hope that’s sarcasm
Maybe the Rangers should just forfeit tomorrow
Sure…they might as well stay home. Igor does everything for them anyway.

I know I just had a rough night watching a hockey game.
Moving Laf and Miller to hartford wouldn’t really affect the outcome on the ice that much, especially in Laf’s case if he is gonna be 3rd or 4th liner for awhile. He in particular needs to get his confidence back and Miller needs to learn more of the basics of being a defenseman in the pros. I also wouldn’t assume Lat would instantly dominate in the AHL either (nor would Miller, Nils or Kakko, tho think he’d do the best) as that is still a much better league than the Q.
Happy for the Duke and hope he can stay in Florida for awhile, but he is the perfect example of development not being linear and needing a lot of patience with some players (more than most fans have)
My hope is Drury is scouring the trade market for both an up and coming center and more veteran C can win faceoffs better than any of our pivots. Sure he is still dealing with covid after effects, but more and more i think it would be a mistake to lock up strome as they will essential have no flexibility if they do so and don’t think Mika and Strome are the top 2 centers to lead us to glory
At least someone is happy for Jack.
Unleash the Kravtsov!
What are any of these guys gonna learn in the minors unless talented coaches spend endless time with each of them?
This is about as gloom and doom as any other time in the “rebuild”
With so much money and term tied in to Loaf, Troubadour, and Mika, any chance of correcting a mistake is gone.
Was really excited for this season.
Let Lafreniere figure it out here. He will.
Hopefully sooner rather than later
I think they need some home games in a row and to get into a regular season groove. Let’s see how they are in mid December.
AzzDancers, for instance, are an older experienced team that’s been playing together for a good while and can easily withstand a long road trip.
Rangers are not very experienced, have many new players, and a new coach. They need an extended home stand to kind of get their routine together.
Admiral – voice of reason in wine country

Sometimes I just have to vent. That’s why I love this place.
I’m not clear, if we’re sending half the team to Hartford, aren’t we replacing them with players who aren’t ready from Hartford?
Good morning….
Who’s ready to watch our boys in blue be sent to slaughter tonight?!
Maybe Blais can take out Mika!
Woohoo!!
Gravy -They could play guys like Hajek, Gauthier, Tinordi, McKegg,(would have to recall Kegger). Then it sends a clear signal to a guy like Miller that he’s not being replaced and this is temporary to help him improve his game and regain his confidence. Now, if they sent down Nils and Miller and brought up Jones and Schneider, that would be a different scenario.
Personally, I think they’re proabably grooming Lundkvist to be a great trade chip before Schneider eventually replaces him. Asset management.
Who knows? Might not send anyone down, but McDonough, Kreider, JT Miller, Fast, Lindgren, Shestyerkin, Chytil all spent time in Hartford. Lias and Kravtsov are the outliers and shouldn’t become the reason to believe young guys can’t go to Hartford for awhile. Caufield just got sent down from Montreal.
Every time Chytil seems to hit his stride an injury details him. Poor kid. Sheesh
That Edmonton game looked to be something he could build off.
Blais is a bull. His linemates need to know where he’s at in their crisscross’
*derails
Gravy – lmfao!
Tom – the Gorts regime era of draft pick entitlement developed a culture of the yutes seeing the AHL as failure, not just a necessary step in development.
The issue is not one or two young players learning the pro game but 7 or 8 at the same time. The other day I outlined the relative inexperience of NYR compared to division playoff contenders.
Gravy
I wasn’t suggesting sending half the team to Hartford. Just Lafreniere, possibly Krakko, Miller, Lundkvist.
LOAF Stromeo Goodrow
Kreider Mika Krakko
Blais Chytil Gauthier
Hunt Rooney Reaves
Fox Lindgren
Joe Willie Trouba
Hajek Tinordi
Problem solved are the any worse?
Bring Lafreniere and Miller back when they’re ready.
Good morning, boneheads!
Have you ever taken Uber or Lyft during peak hours in NYC? The app tells you prices are higher than usual because of high demand. Well, I’m increasing our rent prices on the ledge. Same reason. Rebuild number 2? Madone…
Does anyone remember their record after 12 games last season? 4-6-2. Then they lost two in a row.
Anyway, ticket contest at noon, Go Time post at 6:30.
They have to right the ship tonight. Not so much a win but they need to compete with good teams. Last year’s group feasted on the bottom dwellers. This group can’t even do that. They need to establish an identity. Right now they are pretty much dependent on Shesty to bail them out. They can’t clear the zone or maintain any O zone pressure.
BTW Miller looked a little better on Saturday except for the time he was the only one back on an odd man rush and followed the puck behind the net and left one of the Flames alone in front. Shesty covered for him but how does he not have the awareness to know you can’t leave the front of the net in that situation?
ILB ….no one is gonna want tix to REBUILD #2 …LOL
Tonight’s game holds no weight if they do bad.
When I looked at the schedule last week I mentioned this will be 3rd game in 4 nights and they got back to NYC on a red eye yesterday
If they play well it’s a godsend
If they play poorly against the best team in the East it’s expected.
In the big picture, if they play .500 on road and .600 at home that can compete for playoffs.
Tonite’s game means nothing in the big picture.
You need to ask yourself what is the overall goal for a franchise with 1 Cup in 81 seasons?
Dreary took over 5 months ago, GG is coaching his 12th game. Folks who thought they were ready to take the next step were counting on huge contributions from two 20 year olds, a miscast 22 yo ‘center’ and 2 D in their 3rd seasons, 1 in his second and 1 in his first.
Sorry but the league doesn’t work that way. Never has and never will.
Gorton left a roster with a big hole in the middle. Dreary is starting to plug those holes. My impatience is with lack of player movement out of org but think they are giving GG some room to assess these kids.
Hang in there, it could be a bumpy ride.
Grubbe https://twitter.com/thewhl/status/1457445936200704002?s=21
Choosing goat boy or Hajek to make the team over Kravy seems to be huge miscalculation
Or Drury knew he’d pull this crap and he chose to do it anyway
Maybe it was a “test” to see if he learned his lesson from last time
Maybe it was as simple as a conditioning assignment due to the recent injury.
Really stinks no matter how we look at it
Organizational mismanagement, mismanagement, mismanagement for how long now?
This Organization is an embarrassment all around, Dolan on down. Speak up or question anything, you’re vilified, blackballed and either waived or traded or you just wander in limbo. Happpens too often to be mere coincidence.
Happens with the President and GM, too, not just the players.
ATOWLAL?
Its a dark day here in Rangerland….should be a fun Go Time tonight
Feels like a full bodied Cabernet type game with Camembert cheese on the side
NYR opponent records excluding games against NYR. Math errors are mine and mine alone 😉
teams NYR beat: 30-31-3 (excl TOR and CBJ: 16-25-0)
teams NYR lost to: 29-16-9 (excl EDM and CAL: 16-14-6)
Still early in the season but when looked at it still feels a lot like last year – beat the lower ranked teams, punch up a little but lose to the very good teams.
More interested in seeing positive progression in play (more possession, more driving play, fewer brain cramp breakdowns) than wins at this point of the season. Problem is, not seeing all that much of it (yet).
In football tonight is the kind of game you look to see a big upset. Will require playing 60 minutes of hockey, not the usual 18.
The Cats will loose sooner or later just not convinced it will be tonight. But stranger things have happened so I’m predicting a Ranger win. After all the mud slinging I did yesterday this is a complete turn around for the Minx!
Ahhh the Ranger follies (most of which were under the helm of The Hedghog):
Giving away Ryan Graves for NOTHING
Drafting Lias Anderson
Drafting Kravtsov over Wahlstrom
Losing Anderson
Losing Kravtsov
Giving away DeAngelo in favor of an overpaid backup who bleeds goals… DeAngelo now stars in an offensive role for one of the best teams in the NHL.
Giving away Mcdonagh, and because the market was so weak for McDonagh including JT Miller to finalize a deal which brings back Namestikov, Howden, Hajek… 2 of which are off the team, and one of which whom has no apparent roster spot…. McDonagh then wins 2 Stanley Cups and Miller is a star with skill and snarl.
(Note I did not include the signings of Panarin, Mika, or trade and sign of Trouba. Also not included is the loss of Fast, for nothin.)
Admiral
Could this possibly be mismanagement?
Kreider is such a meanie!
The Rangers announced Sunday that they will host a Military Appreciation Night on Monday. Military personnel will assist in the singing of the national anthem and take part in a ceremonial puck drop.
Hopefully none of you guys try to get on the above ice monitor via Zoom… 😉
I will watch tonight’s game and I will know by the second half of the 1st period if the rangers have a shot of winning the game and if not like I always do I will find something else on TV to entertain me for the night.
Anyone read Andrew Marchand’s column in the NY Post this morning? MSG is making the radio crews of both the Rangers and Knicks call the games from a monitor in NYC. They also are not sending TV production people to the road games, which might be the issue with pictures and audio not being synchronized. All of this to save what equates to a pittance in James Dolan’s bank account.
Next step – let a lotto machine pick the winners, then have the players follow the script.
Mets, too. This could be the future. Big money saver, fans be damned.
Any word on Cheetlejuice?
TYM one could understand why that was done last season but with arenas now open broadcast should revert back too.
Might also explain at least some of Sam’s difficulties as he can only call what is visible on the monitor rather than having a press/tv level view of the ice. Or course, the same would apply to bonehead play calls too 😉
Heartbreak Chytil. You’ll be so lonely you could die.
If Sam sees the same feed that I do, he misses a ton.
Nice guy, though. I give hm a six because I can dance to him.
NEW POST
The Manning brothers have exposed the joke that is in-game production along with the studio. Talking heads wearing suits to look serious to call and discuss a hockey game. Do we need live ‘analysts’ like Joe M pontificating on game play? Should Gianone ever have a job in media, let alone be on camera talent.

MSG not on Comcast leaves a big hole in Ad Rev as well.
I would pay to listen to Leetch and Mess call the game from their basements like the Mannings.
Salmon Joe really are an insult to NYR fan base.
Product Sponsors of Eli made a big mistake promoting him as a braggart. Humbleness was always his endearing asset, sometimes to a fault.
