If Miller ever could add what Chara did tonight to Martin he would a fan favorite foe a decade. I just don;t see it. Truba and Miller are this teams version of Beck and Huber. It is what it is. Yes THAT game. Failure to win that game resulted in a 3 point swing that could’ve (shouldve, would’ve) had the Rangers 2 points out going into Thursday.
Also — think about how many points the Islanders have gained by going to overtimes; winning shootouts compared to Rangers.
And consider the Islanders are 11-9-1 in past 21 games, and have only won 4 of those games in regulation.

Smitty has won me over. He is physical and chips in with a goal now and then. They need some of that with Trouba out. He may get a better offer elsewhere.
Now it’s totally do-or-die with the Islanders. Must play a highly passionate game moving their feet using their speed but hitting and controlling neutral ice; that’s the key in winning these two games. Could end up only one point behind the Islanders would that be great.

Brooksie has an article about whether Georgie should play against the Isles. After his performance last night I think Shesty gets the nod. It’s a shame they had that lousy PK at the end of the second. He deserved the shutout. He stole the game. They easily could have given up 5 or 6. They need to be much better to beat the Isles and have to be ready to play when the puck drops.
