Good morning, boneheads!
You guys are nuts! Well over 300 comments in less than a day. What do you think this is, a paid subscription venture? In case you forgot, there is a reason it’s called HAV. 🙂
Some good discussions last night, though. Solid hockey opinions without resorting to calling each other names. You have to admire that.
I couldn’t find anything worth posting a link this morning, except maybe this.
I figure we will get busy over the next couple of days.
There is another article by Katie Strang from the Athletic, but I am so disgusted by this topic in general, I can’t make myself posting it here. Read it on your own, if you want.

Foist!
Pretty cool feeling that only less than 2 years since “the Letter”, the Rangers are competing in a game with playoff implications tonight.
Despite the uncertainty of the trade deadline, Rangers appear in great hands with JD, Gorton, and Drury. Hartford is finally a competitive team and no longer a tire Fire, there is tremendous young talent at the big club whom seem to be making big strides, there is an all-world skilled player having a career season… and on and on.
What an awesome feeling to watch this team grow!
Can’t find the Strang article over there. My good fortune perhaps.
I’m predicting they extend Kreider and make one or two minor trades that barely effect the current roster. Not because they’re all-in for the playoffs, but because there will be better options leading up to the draft.
Too many questions right now. Buy out of Hank? Staal? Can they trade Skjei?
Kreider is a buffer for the young guys. Deangelo’s presence takes pressure off of Fox and Trouba. If Strome works for Panerin,(for now), why trade him? Same with Buch and Zibanijad/Kreider.
Skjej and Fast will be moved…really think Colorado or Canes would have interest in Georgie
Strang article is about a hockey coach and sexual assault by him.
I also think they extend kreider and figure out how to clear cap space in the off season. I notice since the talk was Gorton was going to start talking to Kreider’s agent his name hasn’t come up as much in trade rumors.
Also, my trade day predictions:
Kerider- keep
Skjej- trade
Fast- trade
Deangelo- keep
Georgie- keep
Buch- trade
Strome- keep
BDL may have mentioned this previously, but I suspect that if the Rangers do anything of significance it’lll go down Sunday. If not then it’s going right down to 3pm on Monday. That seems to always be the way it goes.
At this point I think they’re shopping Kreider but hoping to re-sign him and then shift to trying to move Buchnevich or Skjei.
I do think Colorado would be interested in Buchnevich. But I can see them (and Boston) working the phones hard for Palmieri and Anderson first.
The only way they move Fast is if they think that he’s looking for too much of a raise and that they just won’t be able to keep him as a result. The organization obviously loves the guy so I’m curious to see what happens there.
I suppose Georgiev could still get moved but I think at this point they’ll get a good price for him if they do. None of this 2nd or 3rd rounder stuff. Couple of teams definitely in need of a goalie. I suspect Sakic will go after Lehner though.
Norm, you’re here early today. Usually don’t hear from you until after class.
Sakic, at least publicly, is saying they are not really interested in rentals and trades would be beneficial long term. Thats why I think he would be interesested in Georgie over a Lehner/Mason etc.
Yeah I’ve read a couple of times he’d rather go the way of a hockey trade. But depending on the ask, I’d be surprised if he paid a premium for Georgie when he could try to pry someone like Lehner or even Quick or Dubnyk for much less.
I’m like a kid a few days before Christmas, the suspense is killing me. 😊
The other thing for Colorado is assessing what the plan is for the rest of this year. If the three players that are out aren’t going to be ready to go come post season then is this really the year to move valuable pieces to try to make a run?
Brian Burke was talking about this recently in an interview. GMs these days pay big prices at the deadline just to say okay we’re going to be in the playoffs. Used to be that you didn’t part with first rounders and key prospects unless you thought you had a real shot at the Cup. Now I guess the mentality is “just get in and see what happens”
Oh man. You can keep all your offensive players. I don’t envy the leafs of leaf fans. I also don’t think I’d trade the rangers roster and organizational depth for the leafs. Running out of tarmac season by season
Norm, very first article.
Today’s post article was the 1st time I saw keeping skjei and then leveraging his protection/exposure to Seattle for assets mentioned.
It’s risky business bc if Seattle doesn’t want to play, you have to either protect him and expose another D, expose him outright and risk losing him for nothing, or making a last minute deal with another team to avoid it.
But if it were to work out, we’d be getting assets for the guy we’re losing to Seattle.
Sounds like sakics recent ‘impromptu’ press conference. Meaning, it’s meant for the teams he’s trying to negotiate via media comments with the teams he’s trying to complete deals with before the trade deadline
At this point, I am interested in keeping Buchnevich if they retain Kreider. You already have their first line ready to start in October. It works, we know that much. You can do much worse than someone at $3.25M on your first line R wing than Buchnevich, with all his inconsistencies. Do not fix it if it ain’t broken.
Gorts is basically saying. Teams are trying to lowball me saying I have to move skjei or protect him a year from now. And Gorton is putting out there, Seattle will give me assets to expose him so they can take him. I’ll just hold on to him another season, see if he takes another step, and then in the end, I can probably get something from Seattle for allowing them to claim him
What I think they are going to do is stay true to the last three deadlines. Trade the UFAs. Kreider and Fast are gone.
Agreed BDL.
More and more I’m thinking the returns won’t outweigh the production and mins Kreider and buch will give us.
Both are 50-70 pt players playing on a line together with Mika. Why blow that up?
Why trade 3 pieces for nylander when Buch can provide similar production if he’s playing with the right guys. Rangers can keep buchnevich for another 2-3 seasons i think without breaking the bank for him
What I would like them to do is,
Sign Kreider.
Trade Fast.
Trade Skjei. Replace with Hajek.
Keep Buchnevich. Dark horse to be traded if they sign Kreider.
Keep DeAngelo. Trading Keane made this clear.
Keep Strome.
ILB*
I have a feeling though that a team like Calgary would pay a pretty penny for a deal consisting of skjei, buch, and Georgiev. 3 players in key spots for them who have term or RFA years.
Teams in certain markets have to start valuing term.
Oh BDL is here. Tell the hostess..
“doom and gloom party of one…..Doom and Gloom…party of one?”
Kreider decision= domino effect either way. That’s why keeping him is a faster path to finishing this re-stew. If he stays, you keep all your essential pieces in place and cut non-essentials to get you through next season salary cap-wise. If he’s gone, you are still looking at many gaps in your top 6.
We should be looking for a boesner type to play alongside strome and panarin. A guy who can score and brings some hardnose impact.
Have to say JT Miller would be a great fit next to those two.
Never deal with Sakic unless you want the short end of the stick! He doesn’t deal unless he wins. He would rather miss the playoffs than get fleeced in a hockey trade!
ILB, I’m only basing my guess off of positions of strength that they could shed salary from. No preferences involved.
RW and LHD are the spots to look. If the moved Skjei thats 5.25 million. If something gets worked out with Hank over the summer then that should be more than enough if his absence potentially opens up at least another 3, no?
Prediction from the Minx
Skjei…traded to pantha’s
Smith…traded to wilting leafs
Fast…traded to his father
Everybody else stays until the summer!
Smith is an interesting name not many are talking about.
It’s not doom and gloom James, it’s reality. The last three deadlines tell you that trading the UFAs is what they are going to do.
I don’t want to go back and look at my numbers. But there are different ways to get them through next year without giving up essential pieces. I’m pretty sure Gorton is much better at Salary Cap numbers than all of us combined. The approach should be how we keep essential pieces within the framework of what’s available next year.
As to nickname contributions my best Two were Salmon Joe and for Miami Pimp, I named THE given his favorite player was Kreider….
Smith is one of them. He and a defensive prospect going elsewhere gives you $4.35M to work with. He doesn’t need to be replaced.
Icelanders hit a iceberg and are sinking like the titanic.
TommyG- I am heartbroken 🙂
BDL the last three deadline have absolutely nothing to do with where they are at. . They’re in contention for the post season they’ve been winning at almost a .750 % since the ASB. You have to try to stop living in the past and start looking ahead with this team.
BDL- I think Gorton may surprise us all this year. He also has JD to back him up now. Dolan doesn’t give a carcillo. Dolan wouldn’t know the difference between salary cap and celery soup anyway.
Wick,
I think Smith has a playoff edge that most are aware of. They’d have to retain salary in almost any situation where he’s traded though. Could he go to Anaheim with a sweetener?
I count my blessings everyday that Dolan doesn’t care about the rangers, keep on focusing on the knicks. Who cares about basketball.
I think there is a link to the Katie Strang article on the widget.
As alluded to previously, if I’m Kreider the Trouba contract really sticks in my craw if they want me to take less. No way anyone thinks Trouba is more valuable to the Rangers than CK. It’s not the money so much as the respect the organization has for him. He is a better man than me if he takes less than Trouba is getting to stay here. The Trouba contract makes it impossible for him to get paid more than about $6.5 maybe 7 MM. I don’t see him here after July 1. I think he will be moved by Monday and it will be a setback for them. I suspect they didn’t expect to sign both Trouba and Panarin over the Summer and this is the fallout from it. Cap management is critical and they missed the boat on this one. $8MM for a mediocre Dman just can’t happen.
Ilb
Re your 9:34. That’s exactly it regarding Kreider and the whole situation. Gorton knows what’s going on, if he can make it work with Kreider he will, if Kreider isn’t interested he’ll do what’s best for the organization.
He knows more than all of us for sure.
In Gorton We Trust!!!😊
Ilb,
I am in a prove it to me mode. Until then, I will believe the re-whatever this is, is continuing.
That’s called the safety of disbelief.
Boneheads were busy last night! Hopefully last words on Pig Oink for a while: many didn’t like him, others thought he had an upside. But his great year in Peg illustrates the risks of a- heat maps, b- giving up on a kid too soon and c- not putting him in the right situation to excel. Partnering him with SkjeL would have held him back for sure, so not saying the trade was wrong per se, though perhaps unfortunate in the long run.
Wicky is right on Panarin having given up money on contracts, read a short article on how he was so disappointed that Chicago traded him not long after he had signed a team friendly deal because he wanted them to be able to retain players and sign others. Perhaps he speaks to THE and suggests take a little less but get a NMC.
James is a little bit of a head banger, I like it!
If we lose Kreider should they make a move for Andreas Athanasiou?
The Katie Strang article is very disturbing. All these guys have the same MO. That this guy would get hired when the rumors about him were common knowledge is really disgusting. The hockey community sounds a little like the Catholic church. They just letting him move around and didn’t do much to stop him. Parents need to be educated about these predators so that they err on the side of caution when giving people access to their children.
Beezle what that also tells me about Panarin is that he’s not interested in being part of an organization that wants to tread water. Don’t think it’d sit too well with him if they “traded the vets” as BDL proclaimed before.
It’s under NHL, Norm, not under Carp.
Not for nuttin’, but some of yiz are delusional. ‘SalmonJoe’ and ‘The Gerund’ are coos originals.
I don’t remember salmonjoe origins, but I do remember gerund and coos.
everyone wants to sign Kreids but no one wants to pay him what he’s worth… all the love will evaporate when he’s traded because he wanted 8M per
Bdl
The re whatever ended with the mass email after the draft lottery.
Just because a team trades a vet player, doesn’t mean its re anything…sometimes a player wants a change of scenery or just wants to get overpaid, it happens.
Some folks that are wanting to give Kreider the blank check need to go back about a year or so in posts and look what the same folks here were saying what they should do with Kreider aka enigma and how much his aav should be.
Lol, it’s amazing what a hot streak in a contract year will do to some folks opinion.
Logic and rational thinking just fades away.
I want to keep Kreider so I hope his camp and the rangers are more logical than a lot of the fans.
James, think Panarin will be ok either way given the $ he is getting and he clearly could see how far along/away the rangers were when signing (or he and his agent did no team diligence)
Moment they acquired Fox, it was either Pionk or Tony D being moved at some point because no way those three could be your righty D. Trouba has shown less than you’d like, but don’t think he has been bad as some of yous suggest, he isn’t going anywhere and it’s incumbent upon Gorton to pair him with a good player sooner rather than later. otherwise it will be worse than the Mac situation, because Mac was/is a better pure defender than Trouba to begin with
Finally still don’t see how all three of Kreider, strome and tony are kept around long term at all, let alone without crippling the cap, unless two of them take discounts (and if i’m kreider i’m not volunteering to be the one to do so)
I also wonder if the keane deal is more about the organizations view and aspirations for nils and less to do with deangelo?
Kooz – sorry mate, salmon Joe is all mine. Go back and read the tape. Care to wager?
Wicky – you enjoy the research….type in salmon Joe into carp’s old blog and note the first time it appears .
A new poll for you. Hopefully it works OK but I’m going snowboarding now so don’t blame me!
What is the most money and term you would pay Kreider?
Last Sunday the Rangers were faced with a statement game against Boston, they came up short. Tonight is another, the Canes are good but not the Bee’s. They need to make a statement. We’re back and we ain’t going away anytime soon! Question, do they have what it takes?
Who voted for 8M on the poll…James?
I voted 8 years at 6.5 per.
JPP
if he’s still here a year from now, Seattle would be doing us a favor cap wise if they picked Skjei. I don’t think they’d also give us an asset to do so (yes I know the idea was from a post article)
7×7 is my max.
same lineup
shesty in net
no bubble wrap
Bobby- wasn’t me. I think maybe it was just you trying to increase your chances for that steak dinner.
I feel as though 7×7 is realistic. I’d prefer to sign him for slightly under.
Wicky,
For me this 50% Kreider, and 50% state of the team. I am a Kreider fan, and biased about wanting to keep him, but more importantly I’m a Rangers fan, and that part of me also wants to keep him. I feel like re-signing him sends a message to the team, to the league, and least important, to the fans that we now mean business. We may not be there this year, but we are coming. I feel trading him sends the opposite message. Were not there yet, we are not going to be there next year either, not sure when we are going to be there.
Wicky we’re vibin’ re: Nils. In fact I began writing a comment about it and lost the desire to post it. I don’t think Tony D is guaranteed an extension by any means until they get Nils here to see what he can do. If he can put up roughly the same numbers while vastly improving the defensive side of things then it’s his spot. At least I’d think it was.
‘atta boy, BDL!
Keep in mind too that if Buch or Skjei are dealt you’re not talking about some spare part being sold off. They could probably get a decent prospect for either of them. Maybe more.
Skjei might surprise everyone, but I don’t bet on surprises. Deal him, Hank, Staal, Smit, etc. wherever possible.
Not saying it’s realistic (or that it’s not) but you’d have to think that Sakic has got to do his due diligence and ask about Hank’s availability, no? Especially if they’re already having conversations about other pieces.
If I leave work Monday and Skjei is a Canuck that would be one of the better surprises I’ve had the privilege of experiencing
One more thing on Kreider from me. I don’t think he is going to turn into a 35/40 goal scorer, though he may get close this year. I think he going to be what he has always been. Every year he will score in the 20s. He will be the puck retriever that he has always been, and he will be a net front presence. I’m willing to pay for this.
Anders Lee 7 x 7
Kreidsdale 7.5 x 6
Fair, honest and accurate, sir. Not out of the ordinary for a player to hit that 30 goal mark in a contract year. But he’s put up 28 on two other occasions including last year so it’s not like he’s just hitting the 20 goal mark by the skin of his teeth the way Strome or Buchnevich seem to do.
The other thing is that I don’t believe he will fade out the way others have. Especially when it comes to his speed. He’s a great skater with above average speed. Guys like that don’t turn into Steve Rucchin all of a sudden. Even if he loses a step in his 30s he’s still not going to be lacking in any way.
If they do trade Kreider, there are players available via trade or free agency (mostly trade imo) that can be had with the return gained in a Kreider trade that will (and have) put up similar numbers to Kreider at less of an aav.
Not to mention Kreider’s exploding speed getting to the net and scoring more than he used to in past years.
Bdl
Excellent point about what Kreider will more than likely be moving forward past this hot streak and this season.
I say keep him, but don’t give him a blank check. You still have to ice a team.
If you move Kreider and fast you replace them the rest of this season with Lemieux and Gauthier respectively in the line up.
Legs are the first thing to go for an athlete
Excited we got ourselves a 6’4, 230 lb. speedy wing who has hands and will go to the net. Excited, not giddy. We’ll see.
Goalies seeing Kreider flying down the LW headlong on his way to the net don’t know whether they will need to make a save or save their life! Resign Kreider Jeffy!
What I’ve been a proponent of for months now–trading Kreider for equal or better value and re-trading that for what’s playable next season. What middle-of-the-pack teams are in position to do, rent to a contender, trade the incoming picks to a cellar-dweller.
Wick- a guy like Corey Perry who wasn’t that great of a skater or possessed much foot speed in his prime is the kind of athlete whose legs go.
Guys like Jagr, Bure, Grabner (bunch of your favorites) and Kreider don’t slow down to the point that it screws with their game. At least not at 33 or 34.
Right, Wick. And especially needed in Boxing and Hockey. You never know when – one day it happens – like true love. 🙂
Kase to bruins apparently
Does that take them out of Kreider derby…if there is one
The problem I have trading kreider is the rangers are not going to get much back. It appears there are two teams left who are interested, bruins and Avalanche. I don’t see those GM’s giving up much more than a 1st and a so,so prospect for a rental, don’t see it. Why would they, they know the rangers are in a bind. I hope I’m wrong.
E3
While I truly enjoy going back and seeing past comments of current posters and the flip flopping, I’m busy as hell so apologies but I can’t get to it.
Bruins just traded their 20/20 first.
well, there you go, nobody is going to give the rangers what Gorton is asking for Kreider, down to the avalanche and I know Sakic is stingy.
No Kreider to Boston then if part of the return was a 1st rounder since that’s going in the Backes deal. So… let’s hope Kreidsdale is close to being resigned.
Wicky – no worries. Kooz is smoking the chronic this morning and his memory is hazy it seems…..but for a fact, I coined Salmon Joe…..
Bdl
Yep for kase
Why would the rangers wait until the last minute to try and resign kreider. I would think if Kreider was in there long term plans the rangers organization would have reached out to him this past off season and now there is only one team left Kreider could possibly go.
Did you guys see Ryan Graves taking on any lightning player after the McKinnon hit?
It was cool…mans league!
Kase is a highly skilled winger that cannot seem to stay healthy. I would assume that this eliminates Boston from the Kreider sweepstakes. The Ducks took Backes simply to get his salary off Boston’s books. They had told the league that they were willing to take salary back in a deal.
Brooks is now saying the Rangers priority is to sign Kreider.
wicky, funny you bring up Graves. Earlier I looked him up to see who the rangers traded for him, the player isn’t even in the rangers organization anymore. What the hell was Gorton doing, dude is huge, got a great shot and is a plus 42, are you freaking kidding me. That’s the type of guys the rangers need on the back end and he is still in his entry level deal, my goodness what a mistake. Sakic fleeced Gorton big time and the avalanche are the only team left to trade Kreider to, for get about it.
Of course brooks is saying that, there isn’t a team willing to pay what the rangers are asking and the rangers left themselves no other choice but to reisgn him.
I went with the longer term (8years)on Kreider to give him some inducement to stay other than the AAV. NMC is another issue. The NMC is good for the first 4 or 5 years, but, switch to a list of teams he can’t be trade for the last 3 years. The full NMC really makes it difficult to manage the cap. They need some flexibility if/when his performance drops off. Of course if they gave Trouba a full NMC it’s another bad precedent they set. B’s off the board now since their 1st is gone to Anaheim. Is Kase that good? AVs, Isles -who else is left?
I don’t know if that takes the Bruins out. It allows them to trade a roster player for Kreider.
They wanted a RW. Kase is a RW. Do the Bruins have someone else’s R1 this year?
Graves was mismanaged. He got caught behind Staal and Smith and Maybe Tony D because of the waiver situation. Then they filled the pipeline up with D prospects and devalued him further. He would have eventually claimed by someone on waivers. Stuff happens. Nothing to do but move on.
Tommy, if no one is willing to pay what they’re asking then Gorton is doing his job.
Oh fugg – Colorado rumors are close to Kreider trade
ORF
I still say Graves got caught behind AV and Arniel. Gross mismanagement of a prospect.
E3, they’ve been saying that for days.
Are we complaining about the Kreider return before the actual trade?
James – lets hope it stays as rumor
Haven’t read that, bobby. But I can tell you that if Kreider and Georgiev are both being asked for then Newhook should be the price.
If the rangers were working on trading Kreider, I would think they would sit him down in fear of injury.
I’ll take a younger Kreider if one can be had. But I want some FIRE and team camaraderie.
Boston may not be done. Between acquiring Kase and dumping 75% of Backes’ salary, they cleared around $2M of cap space.
If Kreider’s agent wants 8, and the Rangers can’t or won’t do it, don’t they have to take whatever they can get in trade? It would be fun, sort of, to see the leverage move around. It seems to me the agent is in the catbird seat, but who knows what his client has told him. Or his mom.
It’s quite obvious at this point. If Kreider isn’t being bubble-wrapped, they’re either trading him before tonight’s game, or they’re close to an agreement to sign him. Otherwise it’s just poor asset management, no?
The Kreider Situation is a fluid one.
Could be traded at any time today, or be signed if not.
THExit or not?? That is the question!
Give Kreider 7.5 over 7 or 7 over 8.
Prevent THExit!!!
ILB I get the feeling that the B’s are going to acquire Palmieri or maybe Anderson. Also think Dumba will be playing in the Eastern Conf next week.
The B’s are now at $3,946,667. $678,333 to go for Kreider? Is that right, ilb?
Wait, Thexit! Another one of my fabulous creations 🙂
There is some really silly puddy on this site lately
If the Rangers are truly trying to sign Kreider, he is not likely to be traded until Monday like the Callahan deal went down. I am hoping that they sign him, unless his demand are really off the reservation. I have to imagine he likes his current situation and his teammates. And I don’t blame him a bit if he wants to cash in. He has earned that right.
Extend TNT. Another 5 years on top of the 8 he signed for ….$120,000,000
We need more dynamite….
Norm, the Rangers will most likely retain some of his salary to maximize the return
Please, all who ARE NOT CONCERNED with paying TNT Trouba $8M plus for the next 7 years as his NTC kicks in on July 1st SHOULD STATE SO NOW. . .
I’m very very concerned.
I hope Miami Pimp is holding up ok through all of this..
Talk about silly puddy 🙂
If Ranger management is unwilling to pay Kreider market value, who do the get to replace him?
Asking for my deaf, dumb and blind neighbor, Tommy.
We Need More dye know might.
I’m loving this silly putty!
Wait—David Putty!!
“DEVILS!! DEVILS!!!”
ILB, I take that as you are NOT CONCERNED?
I’m with TYM. Think this will go down to the wire and I still say he stays.
Trouba
Trouba
Trouba
Troubadour
Extend TNT:
Kreider to Boston thought just weakened my lower esophageal sphincter, reminding me of the spicy chicken biryani I had for lunch 2 hours ago…. Ah gastroesophageal reflux… like the reminder of past trade deadlines gone wrong….
Trouble with Trouba :
The lost Star Trek episode!
Sakic could fleece Trump!
That’s not what I meant, Papa.
But no, I am not concerned. Yet. Though some doubts have crossed my mind here and there. I think he is a $1M our year overpaid, but that won’t be that significant when cap continues to go up.
JEFF GORTON: “I’m very concerned, Peanut Butter”
JOHN DAVIDSON: “so am I, more so than, Jeff”
TNT’s WIFE: “I’m not”
TNT’s AGENT: “NOT ME, keep the dough flowing, Dolan!”
TNT’s Banker: “Ka’chiiiing”
TNT’s GOALTENDER: “Get this Dense Cabbage out of here, ASAP!”
Always looking for good Indian restaurants, AA.
Gorton will stare down Sakic, Kreider’s agent, Bloomberg, and Trump without even looking.
CABBAGE!!! Lmfao!!!
Who came up with the gem?
I AM NOT CONCERNED with paying TNT Trouba $8M plus for the next 7 years as his NTC kicks in on July 1st.
Papa’s on the verge of an aneurysm (E4)
Bjorkstrand : ankle fracture.
B-bye, ‘Lumbus
Kreider will either sign with the Rangers or be traded by Monday.
(E5)
When did Trouba start getting $8M PLUS? He actually has a full NMC through 2023-24 season, and modified NTC with 15 teams no-trade list thereafter.
eh, whatever, I root for the laundry anyway
James
I love Indian food man.
Biryani is my crack-habit!
If the actual knock on Trouba is that he isn’t the best RHD on the team then that’s a good thing for the team. Adam Fox has been dynamite. I had serious concerns about that kid and he’s been great.
Let’s see Trouba with Rykov or K’Andre Miller next season and see what’s up.
Norm: “So far, he’s been a disappointment. But the The tooth fairy says, things are going to
improve!”
PAPA, please DO NOT READ THIS POST without taking blood pressure and heart medications!
Trouba’s getting paid $12M this season and $10M next.
James, not an unexpected milque-toast response. But, are you concerned?
Fox will have issues playing against heavy first liners eventually. Shut down isn’t something we should expect him to become. But yes, he is the best D-an in NY at the moment.
ILB, someone, call 9-1-1. Please
About your impending heart attack? Or the Trouba thing?
Lol, ILB!
That not right that you kid about my health like that. I’ve been on the other side twice. And when I get there the next time, you’ll probably want a friend to be vouching for you.
PB I honestly don’t think he’s been as bad as you’re making it. He’s had some tough moments and he’s definitely pressing. But I also haven’t been scrutinizing him the way you have. Certainly hasn’t been an all star But I don’t think he’s Wade Redden 2.0 either. So no, I’m not concerned. Not yet anyhow.
A game without Tony D is a game with 2 less goals for the Rangers and a day without sunshine for Oeanut Butter.
AA said sphincter.
Crap/I actually forgot that you’ve dealt with that stuff. I apologize. Just don’t tell my wife about the apology because then she’s going to think that I’m just throwing them around to everyone but her.
Sorry, Papa.
In regards to the Kase trade, Bruins obviously gave up the R1 as a sweetener so they could dispose of Backes’ salary.
As it’s been said the Ducks are a good team to deal with if they were looking to unload Smith or even Skjei.
Wondering where Josh Manson is going to wind up….
My sauces are telling me that #8 is going up into the rafters Saturday before the Sharks game.
Trouba, Trouba, Trouba, Trouba …
Boys, I’m just kidding. I’m not offended in the least. And, I’m on your side if I get there first, whether you like TNT or not.
🧨
E3, I got a trombone for you, right heay!
I’m offended that Papa’s not offended.
Norm, I’m being polite. My mother taught me if you don’t forgive, you’ll never be truly happy.
Islanders have traded their Russian goalie (Sorokin?) to the Hawks.
Did you ever get the feeling that Gorton might be left standing at the altar, tears in his eyes and a bouquet of poison ivy in his hands?
I think something really big is at hand, E3
I always thought it was about not being capable of gratitude. Forgiveness is right up there, though!
Lundqvist to the nursing home.
Is the nursing home giving back any prospects?
PB – my saxophone blows sweet notes.
Hank’s hair wants a trade.
Norm, my mother might retort that genuine gratitude can only occur when one is unburdened by full, and complete forgiveness. Though, I understand your thoughts and can only offer that this may be a classic parallel to the unsolved puzzle of the chicken or the egg?
E3, mine is a baritone, deep and pulsating

Guy owed me $50 for years. One day he hits the Lottery for 5 mil, so I go to him asking for my long un-repaid US Grant. ‘Can’t do it.’ he says. If word gets out that I paid you, everybody I owe will come around looking to get paid.’
Norm,
I hear in exchange for Hank we’re getting Esther and Henry Bloomemburger. Absolutely useless when it comes to the game of hockey but they’re very sweet and they’re excellent at shuffleboard. Rumor has it their grand kids don’t call though.
BDL, reports now saying Dreger backing off report that the islanders traded Sorokin to the Hawks.
is anything more appealing to a Bonehead like me than pure and double entendre traidline G(j)ibberseh?
At the mention of shuffleboard, #18’s dingy got a stiff oar.
Looks like Dreger tweeted the Islanders traded Sorokin’s rights to Chicago and then retracted it.
Dinghy, coos, c’mon.

Hey kids! So I was the only one to say 8 is great? Lol. To me, absent knowing what type of NMC(s) is in the contract, TERM is more important than dollars. Hence, though I only think Kreider is worth 7, I’ll give him 8 to make sure we don’t go past six years. And its a $1M discount to the popular 7×7.
Whatever contract they do, they need at least a 10-15 team MNTC the last two years.
Speaking and spelling of the sexual organ, Father Norm.
It’s warming to my inner core that theseamateurish and unsullied opinions I offer here may ignite a fire in so few who are so alike. Only in America, on these internets do I enjoy such a disruptive emanation.
BTW, where is the man called Wicky?
@ilb and wicky – I know you have young kids that go skiing. Please don’t be the parents I saw today with four year old kids on the training ropes OFF THE SUMMIT CHAIR. They shouldn’t allow those on any lift that serves only black and blue trails. Get the kids to do greens without any training wheels, them bring them up.
James, I may have imbibed on a on a Bloomburger while lunching at the Naples Botanical Gardens on Monday. Delicious.

I’m not concerned. Like I tried to say to you last night, most aren’t.
Love you, Wick Man!
Why the hell would the Islanders trade that kid? He’s been said to be “their Shesterkin”…If they do make a deal with Chi-town my guess is Brandon Saad is part of it.
Moist are!
Trade deadline Monday…..it can be like Christmas sometimes. We all want new toys…..yet like most children hate…..we may only get clothes.
So long as the $ and term are close, I’m signing where I want to play, agent be damned.
What we get on Monday will be socks and underwear.
Coos he should be looking at the total dollars and trying to get as much as he can as quick as he can. Avoids chance of buyout and/or leaves open the door to a one or two year deal after, which is why I thought 8 for 6yrs would work for him. It is an AAV overpay but in the end, I think it works for both parties.
$1.5 million per year for another 15 years and Bobby Bonilla will be out of Wilpon’s hair.
Somebody buy future hall of famer Anson Carter a pair of cheap shoes to go with his $1500 suits. The sneakers are retro pathetic.
I’ve got a stocking stuffer…..right here….
Fire your Agent, save millions. Personal letter to ten teams:
‘Hi, I’m Chris Kreider. How much will you pay me over how many years? Please reply via e-mail. Only serious offers please.’
If TNT plays good tonight, I’ll be the foist to thank him.
If he doesn’t, I won’t blame Skjeil
E3, put this in your pipe and smoke it!
PB – my pipe is long and thick and gushes like a geyser….
Vegas has rangers at +158 tonight. I might take some of that action…
OH BOY. Hank in street clothes tonight Georgiev backing up Shesterkin.
Here you go! Bubble wrapping Hank 😃
Beezle, greens only. Even if I’m bored to death. In fact, I ski around 10 ft behind her, and if I hear someone flying down behind me, I cut them off. See too much of kids trauma at work, know how it works. Unfortunately.
Something tells I’ll need to post at least three new posts on Monday
ilb,
Today was such a good day to ski…. But, daddy duty (or in my girls case…doody) calls. Have only been out twice this season, whereas pre-twins, I was out 15 times a season.
I may or may not have hit 63mph last time I was out. The rush is incredible, but the little voice in my head was telling me to slow it down. Mind you, these trails were empty at the time other than my buddy….
I guess I’ve been working so hard, I forgot what it’s like to be hardly working.
Hank Pruch’d? What about his hair?
