Catching up–stupid job. Man, is Buchnevich going to get murdered by DQ for that first goal–puck barely out of the zone, has a chance to get it down the ice for a change after a lo-o-ong in-zone runaround, he swipes at it, misses, and jumps off! DeAngelo committed to the change, Staal halfway off, Zibanejad tries to help… dominoes. Georgiev maybe could have bailed them out with a poke, but that was too much time in-zone and a bad change.
How were all those guys on the way to the bench if there were 4 Rangers right in front of the goal but just behind Girgensons (or whatever) when he scored?
The ice time isn’t as drastic as you’re making it out to be. Strome is superior as a PKer and has been great with Panarin on the PP.
Wouldn’t matter if Chytil was the 2C he still wouldn’t be getting those minutes.
Rangers letting the Sabres play a “good road game”. Looks like 3 to 1 Buffalo win on the way. Rangers get 19 SOGs and pass up many good shots.
Chytil and his six assists through 43 games really should be running Strome out of town by the deadline though.

Highlight of the night….Carp on TV. Too bad Giannone would not shut up long enough for Carp to get in more than 3 or 4 consecutive words. That was not as bad as the Sam and Joe MSG Spotlight show, which was both unwatchable and unlistenable. I switched to the Buffalo feed in the 1st period because they were driving me crazy with that stuff. Buffalo lost at home last night to Detroit. The Rangers were not interested in playing tonight.

I’m not concerned about the nifty players on any of those teams. I care about results. Those teams are 3-4 wins better than this Ranger team which has been a disaster at times.
The Rangers are closer than some want to give them credit for.
Step back for a second and look objectively you’ll see that the Rangers are going to pull miles ahead of a bunch of teams when they figure out a few things too.
Maybe instead of killing Kreider or Panarin or Strome it’s time to ask where the rest of the team is.
Where’s Chytil? Lemieux? Kakko? Howden? Chytil scored one against Toronto. But when’s the last time any of those names were consistently on a score sheet?
No reason to care about results this year, James. Development is all that matters. Playoffs was a pipe dream, and just as well they avoided a first-round pummeling as young as they are. Go, Hartford!

Maybe Kakko’s best game. Displayed great skills and even showed some strength on the puck. He should be in the gym 2 weeks after the season ends. Just don’t use Dan Blackburn’s trainer. Chart boys probably think they had a good game. The numbers looked good-other than the score. Shot total less than 30 and Georgie got beat on 3 essentially breakaways. Like to see him stop one of those,but, can’t call them bad goals. I’m ready for this year’s selloff now.
