The new rumors who is on the block doesn’t mention Kreider or Georgiev. My thought is if someone comes up with an offer the rangers can’t refuse than they would trade Georgiev but I don’t think that will happen and georgiev stays with rangers. I also read somewhere but don’t remember where I read a article stating that Gorton has started to talk to kreider’s agent which possibly means the rangers are going to resign kreider. I also thought that maybe the reason fast plays on the 1st line is to boost his trade value. I could see fast and Buchnevich and possibly Skjei being traded at the deadline to clear cap space.

I’m working on comprehensive numbers to see what it may look like to resign everyone. And I mean EVERYONE, just to see what the numbers will look like. Bear with me. I will need your input, I’ll do it when the next post is due.

I cannot imagine a scenario where as Andersson ever suits up for the Rangers again. They will try to build his reputation back up by the draft, and hope to recoup some sort of asset for him. Much like the guy in Edmonton will never suit up for them again.

During the break, another post I’d love to see is a keep or trade post. Would be fun to see everybody’s thoughts on that. Except James of course. His list of keeps is just Kreider and Chytil.

aneirin – the time he missed would not affect the pts or goals per game in each of those months, only the total number of goals and assists. My data is right from nhl stats so I stand by my earlier, there is a slight drop off in production, not an increase. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if that applied to most players given that early season usually has more pond hockey and poor defensive play.

I’m pretty sure gorton did the same thing with zucc and hayes prior to trading both of them.
There’s a scenario, bdl, where the Rangers management–the grown-ups–calmly bring this headstrong kid along and promote him if he earns it. No fan is going to care that he had a melt-down if he eventually produces. But I agree, not likely.

You’re locked into another season with Haley and smith on the 4th line. Young guys like kravtsov still in the minors with no roster spot etc, lack of “impact” guys.

James, no rage here. Unfortunately, if we don’t sign Kreider, you can thank To a degree Trouba and his awful cap eating contract. But being fair minded, I’ll give him to the end of the season to win me over. However, I will continue to call it as I see it, not how I would like to see it.

Just how diluted is NHL talent these days when Haley (for example) has not been replaced with a hard-nosed, 200 foot competitor, 12 goal scorer? And Buttman welcomes yet another franchise.

Not clear why Brooksie thinks there would be more of a Georgiev market in the summer….there are alot of UFA goalies out there come July. There are teams with playoff aspirations that need goaltending help now
