Smith playing on 4th line does not affect Kravtsov or Lias playing time with Rangers. Definitely not for K as he and the team do not want him playing 4th line. For Lias – he looked bad on his own and played with Smith. So even if there was a different 4th line type called up and played instead of Smith Lias time would have increased only minimally.
Not enough to keep him happy that’s for sure.

I’m in the minority of fans who actually think the Rangers pass well and don’t undershoot, but Panarin overdoing it there, and following up guiltily by shooting twice when he should have passed.

18 shots that period–DQ will not complain. The Ducks are pylons, will be interesting to see if they are able to lift their game in the 2nd, almost always the Rangers’ worst. DQ will hope he can keep the 4th line stapled to the bench.

The best 13 forwards do not make the team and the best 12 don’t play. They’re not going to dress top 6 forwards for all 12 forward spots.

I also remember you wanting them to allocate more time to guys like Kreider and other top 6 f’s. Those minutes will come from some place (ie the 4th line)

Now it’s the shot from the point with absolutely no one around, especially after passing it around the zone, dominating and tiring out their opponent.

High stick = penalty on both guys
Fighting instigator = penalty on both guys
The refs should put on NHL jerseys so at least they look the part of getting involved in the game.
