Artemi Panarin returns to Columbus after declining to sign a reported 8 year, $96M contract. Apparently, his return is considered to be a big deal. I didn’t think anything was a big deal in Columbus 🙂

His value to the team isn’t negated because he’s misused by the coach. The roster mismanagement is on the GM and coach, not on Fast. There are a couple know-it-alls who define Fast a net zero player. Which is false.
I have been on Trouba for not playing his best for a period of time this season. But I am happy we have him. He’s not bad, and he eats up minutes. As Goldman points out, it’s interesting that Quinn doesn’t shift Smith to D after the Hajek injury to roll three pairs and just shorten the forwards bench.
Fast does not play up as a rule. But it sure helps a roster that he can play anywhere when there’s an injury, most recently Zib’s. It is odd indeed to make a glue guy like him a whipping boy.
Instead of 2nd place in the Atlantic we are 3 pts out of wild card 🙁

Georgie had a couple of games against the Leafs where he had a similar number of saves, but, the degree of difficulty was much higher tonight. He has allowed 2 goals on the last 80 shots.
The kid is a real find. Nice work by the Rangers scouts betting him signed. And of course, the Goalie Whisperer helping him improve. Something tells me that Cam Talbot misses working with the GW. I hope the GW is mentoring a successor. I thought Trouba played a good game last night.
