Still winning Fantasy, but I dropped Buch for Zibby- then Buch had to score right away.
They said earlier buchnevich supposedly didn’t think he had a good shot. Well, he does. He’s actually better suited to be a goal scorer than a playmaker and he’s a great passer, I just think his swaggy-est, damn that was pretty legit moments come when he’s making a move to the net with scoring in mind or taking a one timer. You get him with someone who can draw guys to him and then dish to buchnevich and he’ll score 30. It’s up to the coaches and management to get it out of him. Goals are a good way to get paid too. Never understood why these pass 1st guys didn’t realize that. Racking up goals gets you paid or long term security, or ability to pick your team come UFA; whatever most important. Some of these guys: zucc, Hayes, buchnevich, stepan, brassard, Miller. I always felt they were doing themselves and the team a disservice by not being more assertive in using their shots to boom boom, puck in net. All those guys had great shots and were pass 1st guys. All gone. Except buch, and this coaching staff is gonna coach him up and demand it and Gorts is gonna put him in a position to cash frequently, and buch is gonna get it. And I’m gonna keep my pants and score something off whichever of you boneheads made a spirits wager with me

I think there’s really something to that. Knowing defense and really getting it and liking it at an early age, predraft. I think there is something ingrained when you resonate with the defensive side of the game as a kid. Mentality thing.
Taking big risks on ‘coaching’ ‘developing’ that In 20 year olds.
Give me a guy who really loves playing defense, can see and understand the game, can skate well and make a pass. And you can coach that kid how to do everything else.
Any of you guys feel the same way about those cast of players I just named. That if they had really wanted to, they could have scored a lot more goals.
And I don’t know if the rangers would have been getting rid of 30g scorers.

Kreider had a collision and banged his knee a few games ago, but I don’t think that’s why he didn’t play much in the 3rd. He and Zibanejad were pretty bad tonight.
If I’m Columbus, (who went all-in), I consider giving Torts the axe.
They should sit Kreider for the rest of the season for precautionary reasons like the devils have done.
