That was fun! I can watch games like that all season long. 180 from the team under AV. They don’t back down, they give as much as they take, they fight and hit right back. And they don’t give up. The compete level, and the fight in them will go a long way, including next season, and hopefully beyond. They just need to add more personnel that fits the system.
I know it’s only two games, but let me ask you- are they really worse without Hayes and Zuccarello in the lineup?
Speaking of Zuccarello. Good luck to him in Dallas, and I hope his injury isn’t serious. I think for people who didn’t appreciate him as a player, and as a person in NY, it’s time to listen to what his teammates, friends, and his coach say about him.
Lias Andersson and Pavel Buchnevich can make a good pair going forward. Even Chytil looked more physically engaged playing with them. For some time…

The magician vanished again when it got chippy.
Entertaining game…some breakdowns defensively but they sure made Caps earn those 2 points
There’s not much more you can ask from these guys.
Great team game. Not perfect by any means, but they pushed the defending champs to the brink.
It’s not a far stretch to expect the Rangers to be more competitive next season. Young guys will have a year of DQ’s system under their belts, and I’m sure Gorton will find some choice free agents that should fit with this team.
It appears to me that this is a tight-knit group, and to go through this adversity together only strengthens that bond.
I admired Zucc’s playmaking abilities but feel he was a far more intriguing character off the ice than on. He performed best when on the 3rd line with Brass and Pullout during the Cup run.
I take issue with the Zucc Fan Boys and their blind adulation and inability to objectively assess his on ice performance.
Hockey needs more characters and he was true character in more ways than one.
Missed the game today. My son had a squirt game upstate. I hope that Gorton is patient, but doesn’t overplay his hand with Hayes and McQuaid.

Outside of Hank letting in about 3 to many. It was a crazy fun game to watch and banter with boyz.
A little bummed Zucc broke his arm wrist. He was all over the place. So here’s hoping Benn and Zucc heal quick. They need to earn us a 1st round pick asap.
Strome has played his way onto this team.
He had to earn it with this kick at the can and I believe he has.
Best guess where Hayes goes?

Very unfortunate for Zucc. Deserves better. Rangers never quit. It’s all we can ask for now. When all the pieces are in place if they continue to function in the manner they have good things are going to happen.
