Plenty of good information on Quinn on the web. He was actually my second choice behind Montgomery before any of the shenanigans started.
I’m guessing that the Rangers organization and their desire to keep their search hush hush played a roll in his decision to openly state he’s staying with B.U. Not so sure what happens regarding the World jr. tourny though..

Honestly boys, you have to try to allow yourselves to stop stereotyping coaches as “minor league coaches” or “college coaches” etc. The game is changing whether you like it or not. So is the dynamic for successful NHL coaches. And no I don’t mean advanced stats even though some rely on those too.

There’s a very small percentage of old time coaches left behind the bench these days, Coos.
Off the top of my head Trotz, Babcock, Quenville, AV, Torts, Boudreau, Julien, Maurice, Sutter if he gets a job. That’s 9 out of 31. Roughly 30% and out of those names who has been consistently successful other than Quenville? How may of those guys are going to be in their current jobs for the next five years?
I recently changed my name on the athletic to Dan djtet T. Another person named Dan T. on the athletic has been trolling Carp. Just want it to be known that it’s not me making those comments and that I would never bash on Carp.

i didn’t watch when the Devils were playing the Kings.
i want Tampa to win the cup and not just for the pick. I’ve always liked Tampa going back to their cup when they beat the Isles and Philly along the way. I also want the Ranger 5 to win the cup. Those guys deserve it.
I haven’t liked Tampa since they beat us in the CF and I should hate them because of the Panthers. But there’s virtually zilch in the way of a rivalry here.
That being said…I want another first round pick so I’m currently a die-hard BOLTS fan.
I’m a fan of one team, and cheer for one team only: NY Rangers. In this series, I see it as a case of rooting against Washington, rather than for Tampa Bay.
Late in a shift spent mostly in the offensive zone, Ryan McDonagh had to go back about 175 feet (give or take) as the Capitals were on a 2-on-1 that turned into a 3-on-2. McDonagh got back and blocked Brett Connolly’s shot. McDonagh has been so good for the Lightning.
Wishing Quinn well, but this is a bit of a gamble. It’s a commitment to a slow rebuild if he’s hired, lots of players and a new coach with a steep learning curve ahead.

No issues from me if it’s Quinn. Has ahl, nhl and college coaching experience (some international as well) and obviously he has great experience working with and teaching young players. It’s the rangers so they could still go ahead and sign some ufas, but reality is they will have plenty of young players on the roster in the coming years no matter what.

Only difference is Girardi would still be a whipping boy instead of a savior.
Problem is far greater.
Too many draft picks traded. So no real replacements as others got too expensive or old or injured or all of the above.
And nowhere near top end talent up front especially at center.
