Watching this game…feel a real disappointment in Buchnevich play. Quite honestly, I didn’t like him (in a hockey sense) from the get-go and never shared that hype about him, hoping nevertheless, that I could be wrong and he will somehow blossom for Rangers. I thought though, that he is not designed for NHL, having total lack of even basic physicality, hence inability to protect a puck in numerous situations, trying to play finesse hockey, which is in his genes. Given, is his ability to see the rink and dissent shot, when allowed, but it doesn’t offset his poor play defensively and inability to achieve any substantial scoring. Ever.

Don’t think he necessarily will ever be an all star, but way too young to give up on, especially when we really have no other wingers his age or younger with anywhere near his skill level. Also not gonna get a whole lot in return for him so unless he is part of a larger package, better to hold onto him

The “top” 6 is pretty much set although Chicago are trying to break in there with their 5 game losing streak.
The other thing worth cheering for is an early exit for Boston or TBL which brings forward our pick into the 16-23 range from a potential high 20’s or 30’s. Those are the kind of extra picks that are better to package up to move up a few places.

As of right now the Devs would play Tampa first round and likely lose (which means we get a better 2nd round pick) and Boston would play Toronto, which could go either way. Then I think Tampa and Boston would meet in the next round (if both win), so unless I misunderstand the current playoff system, at worst one of those teams is gone after round 2 and one advances to semis at least. So really got to root for the Leafs as that seems the best chance for an upset in round 1.
