Good morning, boneheads!
Interesting part of the season. They lose, some people will be happy. They win, another group will be happy. Well, isn’t this always true? 😃

It’s my first first!
Congrats, DaveB!
I’m so freaking happy
Unless someone else wins the lottery and I get bumped out of the top spot
I am apoletic this morning. Somebody stole at least 8″ of snow forecast from me! I went to bed expecting over 20″ in the next 36 hours and wake up to… 12. How sad. Total through Sat still at 20 but doubtful. Its way to warm. God this has been a sucky winter. NYR stink and no snow. Arg!
beezle 2.0, funny you said that because supposedly area north and west of the city are going to get between 12-20 inches of snow . I just checked the radar and there is no way that’s happening, there scattered light precipitation, no signs of any solid heavy precipitation, 20 inches, right.
Other than his attitude, which is very good most of the time, I fail to see the love that Zucc gets from Ranger fans. The fact is that he is just not that productive. He makes good plays now and then, but he overstays shifts, overpasses and also disappears for games at a time. Yes it is cool that a guy his size can carve out a career in the NHL, but that is about it. I bet he is gone by the draft in a trade. I would not be upset about it.
Good loss last night. They competed against a good team and the outcome could have been different if anyone could finish on the team. They had plenty of “good looks.” SOGs allowed were down, but, that wads mostly since the jest stop trying to score in the third. Got to get Georgiev some more games.
rangers need to trade zucc and other veterans, not named lundqvist obviously and get back more assets in the off season. I would try and trade smith, shattenkirk also but that might be hard to do.
Tommy – they are forecasting 2-3 ” per hour of snow this aft (2pm – 6pm) so while they have been wrong before, it’s all in front of us.
Shea had a rough game last night versus the big guns and Haze was caught on a bad line change on the second goal, wondering late into the picture, unable to provide middle support and was covering air on the first goal while Buff interfered with Staal, who ended up providing a nice screen as well.
.
Good team with a very good bottom six. First half of the game, NYR was in the mix but the second half they couldn’t provide any push.
.
the Chart boys favorite, Butch, has been highly ineffective and got his bell wrung again last night. Playing dd as center on Line 1 much be driven straight from the tank commander. And Holland, well, he is very consistent in his inability to not play a strong game in the middle of the ice.
SN, latest synopsis from the NWS out of brookhaven lab on LI and out of Boston are now saying models are coming in with a colder solution and storm track more south and east of LI. The guy out of Boston at least admitted that any slight variation in the track will change the forecast greatly, stay tuned.
This game really reveals how desperately the Rangers need is for elite talent. I hope it arrives someday before I’m too old to care!
I now agree with wicky about Skjei. He is a good skater, has some offense but his defense is not good and doesn’t appear it will improve. I would trade him for the right deal that helps the rangers going forward.
The fact that Skjei merely fits in to this all youth D and doesn’t stand out as a veteran who is at least a little ahead of the game is unfortunate.
believing more and more that what you see if pretty much what we’re going to get.
Also, there’s something about a snowy morning that makes me want a breakfast barge from Anthonys deli…
Dave,
Once I was almost first. I think that is the same as almost scoring a goal. It should be celebrated.
james G, going for the triple bypass special?
BDL coulda been a contender..
Skjei is not a Dman to build around. Sadly he is overrated.
You know it Tommy. I’d rather go out at my dinner table with a smile then have them find me dead and frozen with a shovel in my hands out in the yard!
Zucc is 30+ years old now. Ufa after this year. While he may have more points than most rangers this year his point totals aren’t the numbers you want the leading scorer to have on a team that’s contending for a Cup. I get that he’s a fan favorite to some but it’s a business. They should see what they can get for him at the draft.
Cost for 11 goals. – Stepan, 7mil. this season.
James
It may be hard to trade a Hobbit unless there’s a ring involved!
James, 9:17. – The NY Rangers’ Motto. Should be on the tee shirts. 🙂
Move Shatner-Kirk to forward otherwise try to trade him at the draft. Garth Snow may be the perfect sucker!
4+ mil for 26 goals is something of a bargain these days.
The amount of cap space available and lack of true first line talent makes me think they will sign Kovalchuk this summer – rebuild or no they will want a star attraction rather than trying to sell season tickets to watch the Rangers JV.
If Zucc had any trade value he’d be an ex Ranger right now.
Brookhaven Labs? What in holy hell has gone on in that place over the years?
AND Plum Island?
Tommy – I am full onboard with less snow as my two in-house day laborers are upstate doing ‘hard time’ in college…
The Hobbit might be interested to know that there is a ring around my tub.
cooscoos, I don’t know what they do now but when I was going to college in the 70’s I got a part time job working there and the engineers would give me there work to do and disappear the rest of the day. What I witnessed was nobody did squat.
SN, that’s my concern. I was happy they were talking about my area getting no snow at all and north and west of my area getting 12-20. Radar doesn’t lie. There is heavy precipitation breaking out in the ocean due south of me heading this way and the radar depiction is showing snow. I don’t want no part of this heavy wet cement snow, not to mentioned it snowed last night and the ground was covered with a 1/2 inch of snow.
Would love to see Buch play with Kreider and a good center (who can stay healthy) on a steady basis. Let me know when they find that center!
—//
Have to play the Georgian goalie more that’s for sure. I do wonder if edmn winds up with the 3rd or 4th overall pick could they be talked into trading it for Brady and one of our firsts. Whether we would want to do it or not depends on who is the board but not as opposed to the idea as prior to the season. In hindsight moving Brady and/or Miller for Trouba a coupl years ago would have been the right move!
so our leading scorer and best passer generally sucks and we should trade him for whatever we can get so we can address most glaring of getting elite talent…not sure how that would possibly happen but wanted to level set on the general reasoning here

TommyG. – Rumors years ago about. deadly radiation coming. out of that place in that they were (with government. funding) experimenting and investigating things beyond their knowledge.
On Laine’s second, part of the bloom comes off Spooner. Good backcheck, but passes Chiarot off to Staal too late, can’t get to his man, Laine, in time. That said, Laine is, uh, good. His first is on Gilmour, who fails to fight through Stastny’s pick to get to L. or draw a penalty, but that’s a laser of a shot.
coos
Then we need to trade the Hobbit, the tub, and the ring!
Staal, LOL
Bobby I definitely do not understand the Zucc bashing. Guy comes to play every game. He is not an “elite” player. He is a damn good forward.
Zucc is widely admired in NY for his overachieving, hustling, edgy play. He would be admired for that anywhere he played, but since on this team he has no higher-scoring players around him, he is reviled… but only on this, the most fussy and scapegoating of websites, RangersReport2, aka Which Ranger Do We Hate the Most.
Also not getting the “Skjei sucks” narrative. He’s a second year defenseman forced into a huge role because of injuries to Mac and Shatty and the poor play of Smith. He is going to be very good for a long time and I think it would be a mistake to give him up.
Norm, I’m glad you brought that up on the jets first goal because as soon as that play happened I was aggravated there was no interference call on Stastny. I guess the refs are tuning up for the playoffs.
Didn’t say Skjei sucks. Said he was overrated.
Skell this season, satisfactory, little more.
Topo reviled?
The fact that Zucc almost scoring a goal last night was celebrated as some big accomplishment by fans here on this blog tells you all you need to know. At first I thought it was funny. Then I was just embarrassed as a Ranger fan.
I would not pass any judgment on SkjeL’s defensive abilities yet. Second year, not the best partners and defensive coaching that we really are not sure about (is it AV? is it the three assistants? What exactly have they coached?) It seems pretty clear they will clean house coaching wise this spring so we should look to see how SkjeL and others improve. Likewise a few of the forwards who have underwhelmed like VC.
BDL wasn’t referencing you specifically regarding Skjei. Have seen a ton of criticism here and other places online. Just think it’s premature to write him off as a top talent or to think about trading him.
Should be a crowded field of D in camp in the fall and we don’t know what will come out of the draft. Still hoping that the Rangers can pull a Dave Debusschere and pull Dahlin out of the hat. Hopefully there is some quality amongst all that quantity. Let the tanking continuing. The more ping pong balls the better. My sense is that Pionk will be a keeper. Gilmour maybe and Tony D will be gone. Scarlett is an AHL player. Not sure why there was an interest. Maybe they wanted to try someone out who was a little bigger, but, he is 24 and WYSIWYG.
latest forecast does not look good…
On Carp’s #14: “He also was hired, of course, by Chris Drury. I just want to be the first on record to suggest this.” Too late Carp, I was on that last week!
@coos – BNL has something called “Summer Sunday” tours, believe its late July into early August. Recommend a trip through the RHIC. I did the old NSLS and look forward to seeing NSLS II this year, it should be pretty much in full swing now. https://www.bnl.gov/ps/nsls2/about-NSLS-II.php and https://www.bnl.gov/rhic/
Zucc was surrounded by higher scoring players in past seasons. His bad decisions with the puck weren’t any less infuriating back then. No one is saying he isn’t a good player. In fact I’m sure once he’s on a winning team as depth everyone will be happy to inform the blog of every point he puts up.
Business is business. They’ve clearly torn it down. I don’t think Zucc (at 31 years of age in September) and on the final year of his contract is being looked at by Gorton as someone to build around. That doesn’t mean he sucks, he’s hated or it’s all his fault.
Pretty good stuff here. Only one Ranger made the list. Can you guess who? 🙂
Also, AV nowhere near mentioned… I thought he was the best coach ever?
https://www.nhlpa.com/player-poll/2017-18
RE: Skeji, I’ve said it few times- the measuring stick policy on this blog sometimes feel like it’s “The next Leetch or Bust!” Expecting every young defender to be elite isn’t realistic. To acknowledge Skjei as “being what he is” in short, means maybe we should stop expecting him to turn into Drew Doughty and be happy that he isn’t Ryan Sproul.
That said, going forward I sure hope Gorton is careful when it comes to long tern deals for Dmen….
CCCP interesting … Stepan as a coach? Really? MSG ice not most hated? I still don’t get all the Cindy love, guy has played dirty and cried most of his career, great talent aside. Woudl have been fireworks if they asked about most overrated players!
Agree wait on Shea, but he is up for next RFA deal so decisions await. Re his game, inconsistent in dzone and no real offensive output, but very challenged in decision making in neutral zone. Falls into the Kreider camp, all the tools in the world but poor decision making may hold him back, wants to fall back on wheels to erase gaffs, but in NHL most are fast and getting faster (Coach notwithstanding…)
.
Interesting reading about current Gophers’ D prospect, when his coach said he has a nasty streak which isn’t very common for Minn bred Dmen. Sums up my thought about Shea and to a lesser extent, McD. Need to play a little nasty in Dzone and smack these forward around sometimes.
JamesG issue is that alot of folks here are saying Zucc sucks so it may be more hate than logic… no issue moving him if they get proper value ….other thing to consider is that orton may not want to trade him..he may be one of those character guys he wants on the team – that would really screw up the narrative here
Coach = couch
Gorton’s character guys play North-South, not East-West. Zucc is a good 3rd liner, his ability to play top 6 and produce at even strength is questioned.
BobbyO is it really that people have been saying he sucks or that he is over rated by fans? I’m not fond of his overall game for reasons listed by others ofetn, but he does make some good plays from time to time. However, in the context of what is seen in other games, many of those good/’great’ plays are fairly common in the league.
To me, Zuc is above average offensively, below defenisively but other than his size, is not really that unique or exceptional.
I wouldn’t give up in SkjeL just yet. Tons of players have soph slumps. He hasn’t been good at all. But he has the skills to be good someday. Still a young D-man. … not saying he’s untouchable, though. If the right deal comes along, bye bye SkjeL.
… which is never not funny.
Players poll is entertaining. Carey Price one of the best goalies of all-time.
Top 50 scorer last year , think top 20 in assists…don’t see him as a 3rd liner
Beezle just read comments over the last 2 weeks
Lundqvist not even mentioned. Who were these fans, Montreal Canadien fans?
most of league is young so I guess not familiar with Roy Hasek Brodeur etc
players, tommy
Carp, yea, I noticed that after I posted, my bad.
When Sam Rosen retires, will the Rangers raise his comb-over to the rafters?
Zucc was surrounded by better scorers in the past, true. And he still led the team in scoring.
Marcus Johansson, David Desharnais, Artem Anisomov, Patrick Berglund. Guys of similar age and points as Zucc. None of those guys are more than role players on their teams with what I am sure are various degrees of leadership, character and intangibles . Popularity is no more logical than hate.
Maybe Gorton keeps him or trades him. Either way the blog will be divided just as Ilb joked about in his post.
Here is my take on the Zucc debate. Rangers fans love to roast, bag on and demand that pretty much every player needs to be traded/released – until it is their favorite player. Now that the camera lens is on Topo, his fans are getting upset.
Mats Zuccarello was a special story given his size and play. There are a mess of Rangers prospects who would have been stars if they had his heart and Zucc would have been a perennial All-Star if he has their size.
The problem is that, as a player, what you see is what you get. He is not going to get any better as a player in his 30s – whereas someone like Pavel Buchnevich has years yet left to grow his game.
For the same reason the Rangers traded Ryan McDonagh this year, Jeff Gorton needed to look to move Mats as well. I would guess the Rangers did look to move him, but they were not going to just give him away – nor should they give him away.
Next year as an UFA, the Rangers will need to move him like they did Michael Grabner and Rick Nash.
judging by offers the Rangers received, or didn’t receive, when they made their top scorer available to all, I’d say the league think’s he’s overrated.
Zucc was surrounded by better scorers in the past, true. And he still led the team in scoring.
right. And even then he was making awful decisions with the puck. Also true.
thinks. not think’s. Geez
Anthony, while everything you said is 100% accurate, you’re overlooking the fact that he leads the team in points.
Also, he lead the team in points 2 years ago and 4 years ago…So you know…(S)
Carp there must be a mistake. Do other GMs realize he’s the points leader on the team? lol
For the same reason the Rangers traded Ryan McDonagh this year, Jeff Gorton needed to look to move Mats as well. I would guess the Rangers did look to move him, but they were not going to just give him away – nor should they give him away
^^^ I think that about brings the Zucc debate to a conclusion, no?
Moving right along..
Carp, do you think all three RFA centers are going to get qualified?
The Carey Price contract about to become the nightmare that most Rangers fans were afraid the Lundqvist contract would become. Add to that Shea Weber has one foot and is signed through the 2025 season at an annual cap hit of 7.8 mill…
The Carey Price love in the players poll is interesting. My guess is folks are stuck on that 1 truly astounding season he had and he has been great in a couple of others. So I understand players saying he is currently the toughest goalie to score on. But calling him one of the best all time is ludicrous…
Zuc is not first by all measures.
Points per minute: Buch: 0.0412 THE: 0.0372 Zuc: 0.0355 Zib: 0.0336 The newcomers: Spoon: 0.0495 Namestoolong: 0.0388 Former: Hated:0.0400 (includes TB)
Certainly wouldn’t give Brady away, but given how many lefty D we have in our system, he will want real money soon and he is the only defenseman we have left with real trade value to a team like say Edmn, you certainly have to listen. Definitely agree he could use better coaching, system and righty partner.
Price and WWWeber love because majority players are Canadian so choosing their fellow countryman over foreigners.
Make Canada Great Again!
Carp,
Does the league know that Zucc is the Rangers leading scorer, AND almost scored a goal last night?
Carp-Lettieri and Smith? Instructional sparring match, utter disgust for one another or just 2 guys working hard and competing in practice?
I’m told i am way off base in my McCambridge speculation.
just competing, Tom.
Cody McLeod’s ancestors did the same thing he does only wearing kilts.
Carp- Thanks. That’s what I figured. Good to hear as long as no injuries.
Kilts reminder that St. Patrick’s Day is almost upon us. Time to fire up some Flogging Molly on the iPod.
I didn’t think Brendan Smith had it in him. I hope he comes to camp next year ready to make up for a lost year. We’re much better off with Smith giving us what he’s supposed to give us.
Unless they back off their Zucc ask, he’ll last until the deadline next season. But maybe he brings back more as a rental.
If we lost those games out west, we’d be in 28th place right now, good for the 4th lottery slot (assuming Vancouver and Edmonton got the points we didn’t).
Brandon Smith better find a way to come into Camp in the best shape of his life and a compete level that floors the coaching staff (whoever they may be).
I like that Gilmour lead all dmen in TOI last night. He led in the Calgary game too. Pionk the TOI leader among defenders in Edmonton.
guess Zucc being overrated is better than he just sucks ….if either is the case and they can’t t get a decent return probably makes more sense to keep the warm body and leading scorer..they still need 4 lines next year and its not like he is blocking the path of the next Ovechkin
wedding season fast approaching…Smith will be a busy man
SN I forgot about the number of Canadians in the league. Makes sense. Also apparently the poll started in the summer so makes sense that Price’s poor showing this year didn’t have an impact.
For what it’s worth here’s my opinion from the deep south. The players Gorton must move over the summer. Zibanejad, Zucc, Staal if possible, and Smith. Get rid of DD, Carey, Netherlands, & McLeod. And fire Bazooka Joe and his Entourage that’s an absolute must! Other than that everything is great in Ranger town.
Keep Benoit!
Whispering words of wisdom.
Let him be.
Quick, flip SkjeL to Edmonton for McDavid while Chiarelli is still their GM.
McD tribute
roundtable on the rebuild
Zucc is the teachers pet
the rebuild video just watch first few minutes
MRGA – Make the Rangers Great Again ! Ordered my Ranger’s cap for the next season with that acronym.
I think Allaire’s job is safer than Sather’s, at least for the next three years.
Just catching up. The only thing I read that made a great deal of sense is about McLeod and kilts! 😃
St Pete Eli – We’d be taking 50 cents on the dollar for Zika, and we’d NEVER move Smith unless we were taking back an equally bad contract or disappointment. I’m all for keeping Zibanejad around to see what he can do and seeing how Smith comes to camp. Now…if we can eat salary to clear the way for a Staal trade – yes, all for it AND it’s possible. And if we can get something worthwhile at the draft for Zuccarello, I’d say might as well.
BobbyO- you aren’t winning this one. You’ve been here long enough to know you aren’t going to change people’s mind. I never understood the Zucc hate either. He’s been a good player for this team for years. But I also never understood the infatuation by some. He added much needed skill when he first cane up ( TR called it ). And was never expensive. I believe this is as much as he can give at the moment. His time maybe up in NY, especially if they can get a good value back. But throwing him away for nothing isn’t smart. He is, probably, still the most creative player in NY.
Package up a handful of these guys and get some elite 1st line talent. We haven’t had an “A” forward in years.
(NO Oldies like Kovalchuk!)
We are trading Zibanejad already? Is 24 now the new wrong side of 30?
Olga-if McD didn’t bring back a first line talent, no combination of the rest of them would.
I’d def keep him ILB. But’s its worth mentioning the disturbing trend of
1. Starts strong as hell
2. Gets injured
3. Comes back, plays timidly on perimeter for 40 games
4. Finishes aight
2 years may not indicate a pattern. Also, remember, one of them was broken leg.
And it looks like I may have to stay at the hospital overnight. So I’ll be blogging away and posting a new post every hour 😃
The trade deadline was not the time for acquiring the elite players. Anybody with talent was keeping it for the playoff run. Contenders were trading picks and spare parts. After the season, at the draft, or a good young UFA over the summer.
I’m not concerned about the injuries – it’s the response. That broken leg was a freak play, and if it didn’t happen, he was going on his third straight 80+ game season. I think he’s as durable as the next guy. But he comes back skittish, and for far longer than it should take to get acclimated. But maybe this year was due to the state of things.
Ilb,
What do you consider good value for Zucc?
Do you think he has Grabner value? A 2nd and a prospect. Nash value? A 1st, a prospect, and an NHL player. Or McD value, 2 first, and two prospects.
Coos-I just approved your post above. It was in moderation because you posted more than one link in one post. Next time use one link per post.
My feeling is, Zucc is 3rd or 4th round draft pick value. He’s not as good as Nash, and McD, and his value is not as good as Grabners.
Didn’t think about it, BDL. Not Nash’s value. Maybe Grabner.
Just saw your post, BDL. Pretty impressed, I thought you’d say 7th rounder.
I’ll disagree with you on 3/4 merely because he still has one year left on his contract.
ilb – no idea what you’re speaking of re: links,. ?
If Zuc was worth something as a rental he would be gone already given the favorable contract. That we barely heard a peep about him (and certain no speculation of teams or names coming back) makes me think the whole thing was a plant by Gorton (or more likely Sather). If we got a 2nd for Zuc that would be pretty damn good.
In other news, the depressing lack of snow continues. Only at most 1″ so far. I may need to use Topo as a whipping boy if we don’t get at least 10 over night lol
Impressive tribute to Donuts except for the dumb song. He must have scored 60 that year. 🙂
Facebook sucks! Spies a la mode.
Never mind, Coos. Sorry. It was from beezle to you at 11:02
This weather is crazy, been raining and snowing lightly back and fourth all day, than at 3:00pm started to sleet heavily, than came a flash of light and a loud clap of thunder and now it’s snowing hard.
tommyG please send Ullr north asap, thanks. Ilb, thats funny as I saw that post the whole time? Hoping to hear back from coos after his BNL tour!
Nobody has more job security than Slatsko…nobody.😳
SN, think of it this way, it could be Dolan getting involved with the rangers like he does with the knicks.
Beezle. – Rumors abound that Brookhaven holds remnants of a downed flying saucer, circa 1992.
Rough teaching schedule today–sick colleague. So… do we all love Zucc yet?
‘Hello, class. I’m Mister Norm and I’m packing heat.
thx ilb…cant wait till they name Zucc captain next year
If AV is still the coach, that will happen. But not if they don’t buy out Staal. I’m guessing AV will be gone and therefore Zucc will be gone. The new coach will want his own leadership group.
I knew you guys would disagree with me on Zibanejad. Don’t misunderstand me here. I like his skill set. Just not impressed with his battle level. If he is our #1 he needs to be better. I am not a Zucc hater I like Hobbits I’m one myself. I just think it’s time to move on.
There are Zucc fans who also root for the Rangers. THey only see Zucc on the ice, and think he is the most important player on the ice and they cannot reasonably assess his play. Then there are Ranger fans who watch the entire team, and Zucc is just part of the team. Those fans see not only Zucc, but all players on the team much more clearly. zucc fans do not like Ranger fans.
Eli,
I agree with you on Zibanijad. He is the center I would look to move.
I get the Zucc craze. He’s not my favorite guy, but I get the blind admiration even if I don’t share it. What I don’t get is the flip side: the hate. I refuse to criticize a player for not being as good as crazy people think he is.
Good God, Norm! It’s Not hating if you criticize.
Hate is a strong word, and I don’t know if it applies to me or not. I do know I hate what Zuucs game has become. It is a selfish game. Long shifts, blind passes, running around in own zone. everything Zucc does he does for Zucc. This wasn’t always the case. He changed after his injury, and the trading of his closest friends. Kind of like he said, F it.
dont think its Zucc craze..just getting good value if you are going to move him..if not he’s useful and current price…they can wait until next trade deadline to see where they are. Starting to think moving Ziba may be right move also…based on salary and injury history (he has not bounced back after being hurt last 2 years) .. they probably need to see more of Names and Spooner before making that decision though
Good God, Papa! It’s an expression. Review this thread if you think it’s mere criticism. Teacher’s pet?
Norm,
He’s clearly an AV favorite. He along with Fast. I’m not a Fast fan, but a big difference between the two is that everything Fast does is about the team. Everything Zucc does is about Zucc.
Must goes moving forward!
Slather
Bazooka Joe
Rough
Zucc
Staal
Bananajad
Carey
Day-R-Nay
McLeod
Netherlands
OP
Not sure about Arniel because I don’t know what he does if anything.
And the coaches son belongs on line 4!
They way you folks are trading people away, Fast will become your first line winger pretty soon.
DaveB – I wouldn’t be adverse to moving Brendan Smith for an equal-ish bad contract depending on who the player is. Sometimes players need a change to recharge the batteries.
Smith for Andrew Shaw.
Everything Zucc does is for Zucc, which is why he leads the team in assists. Again.
Ilb – we are already traded him
😬
Smith for Back Itch
Is tonite rivalry night?
I miss Sean Avery 🙁
I miss Sean Avery 🙁
SN
Yes it’s mud wrestling night the filth vs the dirty birds
Did I stutter did I stutter?
New Coach Sutter? New Coach Sutter?
I think in the offseason Zuc could get you a Spooner level youngish player and a 2nd or 3rd pick. At this point id ask for any such picks to be in the ‘19 draft to diversify our portfolio so to speak. Of course I’d rather have Zuc on my team rather than Nash if I were another team, just think big Canadian who used to score a lot of goals will always be more valued by the old boys club that is the Nhl
Nash is much more talented.
Pete I don’t think you’ll be getting a 2nd *and* a player like Spooner. If Zuc were on another team, same stats, what would you be ok with NYR giving up for him?
Black magic!! Two of my identical posts went through!
I need a new tinfoil hat.
Well I don’t value Spooner that much and nor did Boston, he was a throw in for cap reasons as they had no intention of signing him. Hard to answer that from a rangers perspective, but assuming for our arguments sake our top 6 was basically set with better players, we were in cup go for it mode and he’d slot in on the 3rd line and spot 2nd line duty, I’d give up a Vesey and a 2nd.
——
Nash may be much more talented, but he hasn’t put up as many points as Zuc in three seasons. Nash also needs to be with better players to have a shot at producing because he isn’t a creative player unlike Zuc
Nash is a better player. That why Nash was sought after. That’s why Nash brought back the pkg he did. If Zucc would have brought back anything close to what Nash brought back, he would be gone. Sometimes STATS lie.
Man can someone beam me down to Florida?? I can’t stand living in this slop…AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Five I’m heading to Tampa tomorrow – Yanks, Rangers, Mons Venus, Yanks. Did I mention Mons Venus?
Nash is a better player by a mile and the stats don’t lie.
1054 GP, 436 G, 366 A, 802 Pts. #4 among active goalscorers.
Zucc:
449 GP, 96 G, 210 A, 306 Pts. And he ain’t catching up.
As a resident of the Philthy city I’m forced to watch Pens/Flygirls. I’m rooting for Cinnamon at Mons Venus.
Headzo, not squeezing in Bern’s? That would be the trifecta.
Anthony – I would absolutely get rid of Brandon Smith – I just don’t see it happening in any way where we net out even-steven. I definitely don’t know every player contract in the league, but I just can’t think of anybody out there with a similar contract, at a similar age, who is in a similar situation, where a team would be willing to flip players one-for-one in a change of scenery type deal. There are guys like Marian Gaborik who have comparable term and cap hit, but who are older and just flat-out done.
Smith was awful this year save for a handful of games which reminded you of what he could be. At that salary, you hope he redeems himself, but you sure don’t plan on it.
Norm – I love that place. When the end of days come I hope I’m in their wine cellar.
Ron Francis got clipped.
I went only once (much younger brother’s bachelor weekend featuring the trifecta) and still remember it well, including the tour, was intimidated by all the reading required by the steaks menu. Mons I was to chicken to take part in–talked a big game in the parking lot and then snuck away with the only other married man. Only time I ever did Yank’s spring training. So many catchers!
*too chicken*
Headzo…you magnificent lucky bast ard
took 3 cruises outta Tampa last year i would move there in a heartbeat
Sorry to hear Norm. I was hoping they’d join forces & open a Berns Venus . Imagine the possibilities!
and i could watch the Rangers 41X a year …
Finns it would be epic if you sold your house via the blog. I’ll keep an ear out for you!

I see what you did there Five!
Wear your surgery scrubs at Mons just to be safe
Dale Mabry – my good man!
End of the day of course Nash will have had a better career than the unstaffed 5-7 Norwegian-Italian, but Nash today isn’t the Nash of Columbus days or even his early time as a Ranger. Moreover, if Nash had half the cajones as Zuc he’d be an unstoppable power forward given his size. Instead he is largely a perimeter player, only occasionally willing to go into the dirty areas. And still waiting for him to make an appearance in the ‘14 finals 😉
*undrafted
Hayes plays the game like Zippy The Pinhead lounging around in his pajamas
Hayes IS the new and improved UltraGlide..The Best A Man Can Get
Hayes really belongs in a Colorado uni ..he could dab and consume edibles on non game daze
Did we lose to the Bolts yet?
Who’s in charge of fixing the ‘like’ click? Not complaining, just axing.
STILL people around here with no power for almost a week. Cuomo sent hundreds of these Con Ed types to Puerto Rico. Maybe he should worry a little about his sown State.
*his own State.
Tired of these egotistic ‘local’ politicians who think they’re responsible to the world with OUR dollars. Just fix the potholes and enforce the laws.
Headzo 🙂
Hey can somebody get me a link to whatever doodie’s talking in about his tweet.
Fivefinns I’ll take all your snow even if it is wet and heavy. The blog will take 6% on your house.
My hometown let chuck schumer show up at my sisters graduation to shill for votes, so in the middle of his speech in which he never mentioned the students, I yelled out for him to go home.
I also shocked Steve levy one night when he presented or lectured for a journalism class i took at stony brook. I asked him questions he was so taken back by and not expecting, heck the opportunity was there. He was such a pol. The professor really gave me the screw in return for doing so. I took the class as a single credit elective. And I overloaded this semester, I was gung-ho and i overloaded. Anyway I was trying to get into the civil engineering program which we could only start in the fall semesters and you needed a 3.4 to get in. I asked this professor to let me withdraw from the class, so that my gpa wouldn’t be brought down by this course, in which I had been honest to him about it being overload, but how the course really interested me. Well he remembered that night with Steve levy and he played a b&tch and civil engineering degree went out the window, I went to work for a development firm instead, moved to Brooklyn and eventually came upon what i do now. The stick up his azz professor, was a first time celebrity professor, he’s a stupid news anchor for channel 12 news. Woods, can’t remember his first name. Such a flamejob that dood. The fact he has the power in his hand, I told him as much, And he blocked my entry to the program I wanted to go into.
All these doods were such losers. Like stuff gets tough and they will be pissing their pants hiding bc their wives kinda doods
