Appreciate the input. I believe I posted chytil or someone…if you prefer put another name in there besides chytil. Truly doesn’t matter one bit to me, just an example.
Re skjeL and Toronto, it’s been said recently by McKenzie that Toronto would be more apt to trade nylander for a young d man, so why not ask? Worse Toronto days is no.

BDL, I had a feeling they may claim him, but for a different reason. I thought they didn’t want Smith to keep feeling it was his job and keep losing him for 5 min or more every night. But you may have something there.
The only two back-liners capable of MVP status in a Playoff Series are McDonuts and Shatty. For that reason, I keep tutoring ShattRochelle on positioning and I re-sign the Captain. Everyone else back there can go into an Ashram and play sitars with Cat Stevens for all I care.
Remembering back, the Undertaker thanked McGratton for the opportunity and McGratton patted McIlrath on the ass after giving him a boxing lesson.

Re McLeod
I’m not stoked about it. This is why I wish the rangers had playable toughness on the roster, it would make moves like this unnecessary.
Now if this is for Hartford only and we won’t see him on the rangers, I’d assume he is there for the reason bdl stated and is replacing or supplementing selleck, then that is fine.
Either way he is an honest and 100% effort player. Never have to question his effort.
TomK
Will Holden lose his number again? 🙂

McLeod can actually kill penalties and take a semi-regular shift. Not a terrible grab, and as others have said – we might be real young real soon.
Bye bye Peter Holland, it was nice knowing you
I’d take a flyer on Paajarvi-Svensson too, who went on waivers today.

If Torts has McCleod in the final game of the season against the Flyers, he would have had more minutes than Gaborik.
Dr. Wicky MD
Well, it was reported several places and in interviews with players that toughness was lacking and that and size matters…even though norm says it’s all a lie
I’d still rather have playable toughness throughout the roster but this is better than nothing I guess.
I like guys like McLeod with no teeth because, unlike the pretty boys, they usually play not worrying for their teeth to be knocked out.

So if they claim him they have to put him on the roster or he must pass through waivers to go to the AHL? Curious about this move. Who sits? JT, VZ, Cousin Vinny? I assume they didn’t claim him to Prucha him. Is he Tanner Glass 2.0? Career FO% of 31. Not much help there. Hasn’t played more than 30 games since 2016. He is 33. Let the young guys play. They may get better. He won’t.
If they send him to Hartford, when they do call him up, it will be an admission that we expect to take a physical beating that night.
Alex
I think it’s definitely an admission that the season is gone and the ufas at least will be traded in next month. He’s ufa after this season so he’s here until april 7th when the season ends.
I think Lettieri or Carey draws the short straw. If Lettieri goes down he comes back when Nash and Grabner get traded.
Expect him to dress if they claimed him….be interesting to see if our forwards start venturing into the corners and on the walls more consistently as a result
Alex
Because I think it proves we’re in sell mode. Trading Nash and Grabner for starters while bringing up more Hartford guys.
Mcleod will give some entertainment value to the garden fans and try to protect the young uns a little.

this is the first step in a major selloff. If your gonna suck, you better have goons to keep butts in the seats. Plus, you cant have just kids out there who cant defend themselves. Remember days when Simon, Barnaby, Sandy Mccarthy were all 3rd liners here?

BDL, from the previous post- I would love to see Pionk here. I was more so just projecting a hypothetical blueline without Staal as opposed to without Mac

Unplayable toughness?
ilb2001
Interesting stat about McLeod. Players of his ilk tend to be journeymen. 12 years in the league, and the Rangers are only his 3rd team. A year and a half with Nashville, the rest in Colorado. I know I’m trying to put a positive spin here, but still.
Peter Holland is their No. 1 center at the moment.
Wondering if McLeod is actually Donald Brashear 2.0 at this point.
DaveB
McLeod is only Donald Brashear if Glen gave him a call before claiming him and promised him power play time.
Old Ranger Fan
I think whoever said it is to entertain the fans may be on to something. In addition to losing their games have become very boring. Maybe he’ll make some noise in the MSG library.
James G
um…wow. Here I thought Mcleod was just a cheap option vet for the fourth line seeing as how the vet loving coach may have felt the need for a Glass type and couldn’t keep using lifetime AHLers
I think this move has more to do with the number of players who pooped themselves in LA. And so that De-Klein Smith doesn’t have to fight every night … even if his five minutes off the ice is a blessing.
Old Ranger Fan
The move is Satheresque. We may hear renewed calls from some posters to”FIRE SATHER!”
TomK
We’re still haven’t replaced Prust.
Old Ranger Fan
I suspect we don’t see him until after that AS break.
Alex – We’ve had kids out there who can’t defend themselves for seasons. Nothing new there. I don’t think McLeod was brought here just to put asses in a sold out arena. I hear a loud whisper into Gorton’s ear from Slats who would never ice a team filled only with Irish Christian Brothers. Of course, I realize that I’m probably the only one here of that opinion.
As coos and others have correctly noted … if the players feel better having a McLeod in the lineup, then it’s a good thing, no matter what the tangible effects may be.
Norm Merton
Entertainment for those who dig fighting–no problem, it’s a business after all. I hate that stuff–former high school coach and all–but if it makes players think they need to play tougher or they’ll be replaced by an unskilled thug (who hasn’t killed penalties for two years, TOI 6-7 in the few games he’s played this season) I’m all for it. If he actually does play, he will of course fight and/or look for the big, bad hit, and I’ll be looking for predictions immediately after the fight as to which team will benefit. As for McLeod himself, here’s hoping he doesn’t join in the line of brain trauma victims while wearing a Rangers jersey.
Smith is not disciplined nor is he particularly effective.
Alex
Cooscoos
this year is different though. We are going to be in sell mode and yes while most seats are sold (not all but most) a fight or three will provide entertainment. The sell mode started with the Stepan deal for 7th overall. Yes i know Raanta was party of the deal too.
He’s not playing tonight. Be interesting to see who the other 2 are on the 4th line. Hopefully not Grabner.
St Pete Eli
Just got home from the Dentist ugh! Still it wasn’t as bad as watching a Ranger game!
Alex
I agree with those who say Sather had input on this.
Of course Slats had input. Does Dolan constantly deposit big checks into Sather’s account just for him to carry towels from the laundry to the cubicles? You can bet that Slats DEMANDS input. Exactly how naive are some here?
Despite our mediocre play and our dearth of star talent, a couple few rah-rah guys on the ice and in the room might be enough to give us the push we need to nab a playoff spot. Gorton (and AV) should have thought of this much earlier.
McDonagh just entered the THN Trade Bait top 30 list. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to where he falls on that list? Here’s a hint: The rest of the NHL apparently doesn’t value McDonagh as much as we do and number one defenseman are apparently no longer in demand (despite the fact that they always are and a defenseman of McDonagh’s caliber rarely becomes available).
Also, the NHL writers just don’t have it in them to list Vegas as number one in their “Super 16”. They still have Tampa there. Just FYI…. Vegas has already beaten Tampa in the only two meetings they will have this season.
James G
Bingo, Carp. Gives them a quality they didn’t have. What people think of that quality= an entirely different conversation.
Look at the bright side: At least they didn’t trade for Lucic…
I just want to say I hate every player we have on the roster, in the system and that we’ll draft over the next 5 decades. I covet every other team’s fading superstars and don’t think any are attainable or that we’ll get fair value out of any trade the Rangers make from now until eternity. Fire Sather. Fire Gorton. Fire the coaching staff. Resurrect Lester Patrick and Herb Brooks and fire them too.
TomK
Holy Shiskabob! Pavelec is the first goalie off! Maybe he gets a start?
Bdl
McDonagh is going to be downplayed by the media in Canada. As I said before, they are the Leaves pipe organ, and that are trying to lessen his value.
Now go ahead and tell me I’m way off Carp. 😀
Ev, not sure what it means to stand by the prediction … but they’re still as good as the rest of the slop fighting for the third spot (assuming PIT ultimately ends up 1 or 2, with WAS). After the selloff they might no longer be. But CBJ, NJ, NYI, PHI, CAR — all of them wildly mediocre.
McDonagh should rightfully be coveted by any contender considering they would have him this season for a Cup run and for all of next season and another Cup run in return for a skewered, measly salary. They’d also have dibs on his future after that if they’re still interested.
Everyone in Canada would salivate to get Kreider if only he spoke French rather than Russian. BTW, I suspect his Russian “fluency” is a figment of some nitwit reporter’s uninformed imagination that went viral.
Mixed reports about whether the Rangers are buyers or sellers, and now we are starting to hear McD’s name possibly moved….I really don’t see it and talking to people as of now the Rangers still believe they are only a few points from being solidly in the playoffs, and they feel they haven’t played well to this point…but we are not even at 50 games yet…”
Eklund: “…the Rangers still believe they are only a few points from being solidly in the playoffs.” LOL. a FEW points from a solid playoff position. This guy should be working in the basement of a Stop@Shop.
BobbyO
Did Hank get hurt at practice yet so he can sit out All Star farce and rest?
I said they want to make the playoffs, BDL. It’s not going to be a priority.
DaveB
I remember when there were some trade rumors a year or so ago involving McD and Edmonton – I think Brooks was just speculating that Draisaitl would be the starting point (may be wrong). The Edmonton media and fans who caught wind of that lost their minds – insists McDonagh’s a 3/4 at best.
Thankfully the fans and beat writers don’t run the teams. GMs know who Ryan McDonagh is and what he’s worth.
And while we’re on the subject of Yuckland, Spector’s hockey weighed in on the Ranger rumors – saying there’s no way the Rangers are sellers as long as they’re fighting for a playoff spot. Did I ever mention that I dislike Spector almost as much as Eklund?
If that’s the case Doodie, then explain to me why Mike Hoffman is number 4 while Patrick is a Maroon is number 2 and Mike not so Green is number 3. As a bonus what is the reason for Grabby being so low at 8?
This list is a hodgepodge of BS is my explanation.
DaveB
Ev – are you implying that the Canadian website is prioritizing the players on Canadian-based teams? They better not!
Gorton. made the mistake of giving Smith long years and big money for a job McLeod covers for 1/2 a season and 600 thou. The fact that Smith is undisciplined on and off the ice, (comes in fat?) and plays a pedestrian defense at best just compounds the error.
got paid off a nice playoff run. but fooled everybody.

Never mentioned by SalmonJoe (Giannone will tell you, bless him) is how many times some creep after throwing a cheap shot and being reviled verbally from a few on the ice and the R bench, challenges that entire bench and gets no takers. Embarrassing. Would never happen with McIlrath or Glass here. Maybe it won’t with McLeod. A move for the better.
This is the dawning of a new ranger franchise, a new ranger franchise, a new ranger franchise. Franchiseeeeeeeeeeeee

Can’t wait until Vesey, letierie or even Buch or Miller are scratched so this guy can play! That being said, I’m fine with him dressing once we move nash, Grabner and others.
My favorite enforcer was Joe Paterson. He was great at beating other guy’s fist with his face. I remember after his first couple of fights he looked like he went 15 rounds with a sledgehammer with the bruises and black and blues on his face.

Can’t remeber exactly who it was but I think it was Nathan Horton when he was with Florida and malakhov was with the rangers and just beat Horton down.

Wicky is spot on. A guy like McLeod isn’t what they need to “protect” players. They need guys that can protect themselves.
Wonder how Oilers fans feel about Lucic and his 8 million playing fourth line minutes
Wicky, love me some Fleury. But I’m always a fan of the “little” guys.
In terms of Salmon Joe, Sam is definitely an unwitting beneficiary of “The Potvin Effect”. Steve Goldstein was actually a pretty good play-by-play guy for the Panthers until too many years of sitting alongside Denis Potvin. Now he’s a homer and his IQ had been exactly halved.
Man, that team had some of that “playable toughness” didn’t it?

On a différent subject, McKenzie or McGuire was on tsn radio yesterday talking about hank “talking” to the guys on the bench when he went in to the Islanders game.
Said it’s a bad sign that the team has laid an egg since that “chat”.
Makes them think there’s a problem in the room.

Dr. Wicky MD
SN
I didn’t interpret what they said about as hanks fault on the subsequent losses (I agree with you, roster and imo coach). I took it as the team didn’t respond to it at all and that there might be divisions in the room.
Dr. Wicky MD
Besides, let’s be honest he’s only a goalie

Tonight is a very exciting night. We get to find out if Mats Zuccarello can score a goal in the month of January. This is his last chance. He has to score a goal eventually, doesn’t he?
“Hey Coach, you lookin’ for a tough 4th liner? ” Classico. Thanx for that one Carp.
tommyG
Carp, you can put me in the list with Doodie referencing smith. The 1st game he played for the rangers last year after the trade I posted on here I didn’t like him, called him a giveaway machine and have continued to post on here I don’t like his game.
Always, when Joey K’s name is brought up, I remember him, after a maybe ’94 scrimmage, seeking out Kovalev’s translator and telling him, “explain to your guy who I am and what I do here and tell him if he ever slams me to the boards like that again, I will send him back where he came from in a box.”
tommyG
you can add shattenkirk to that list. I remember posting on here a bunch of times rangers better not sign shattenkirk and was hopeful they didn’t resign smith. Stupid signings and a waste of cap space.
I remember Kocur fighting his ex-teammate Probert in Detroit. A scrum broke out in the middle of the ice in Detroit and Probert came charging in to the scrum and Kocur cut him off and a way they went. Probert got one or two shots in and Kocur with those sledge hammer hands nailed him between the eyes and Probert went limp for a moment and that was the end of that fight.
Picked up a copy of The Journal News the other day just out of curiosity. What a totally minor league rag this inkslop has become. As I’ve said before, the only thing they had going for themselves was Carp and Reisman. Now, they are actually an embarrassment.
James G
Don’t consider myself a fan boy of Hanks but had no problem with what he did. That being said I doubt this skid is “in response” to his words
James G
And I think AV is full of it. Hank on pace to start 67 games this year. Don’t tell me that his starts are carefully calculated. He bombed in Anaheim you realize he needs a game off and you’re starting Pav. Just say that
They tend to give Henrik a game or 2 around breaks like Christmas, the bye”week” or now the allstar break (where unfortunately he doesn’t get a break). so i do think this was planned.
Papa Bear

Hockey Sittoo
I think the team is “skidding” because they are riddled with injuries and weak in their own zone. Hank (and Pavelec) was masking a lot of issues in the defensive zone, but that can’t last forever and until the past couple of games they weren’t scoring either. If McKenzie or anyone else is blaming the skid on Hank for “calling guys out on the bench” that’s borderline ludicrous imo. Starting Pavs tonight is absolutely the correct call and he should have started one of the back to backs. And although I’m happy Hank is being recognized, I still wish he wasn’t going to the Allstar game.
Kocur was ordered by Keenan to fight Probert. Afterward, Probert’s mother scolded both of them. She was really pissed that two great friends would fight like that. They both hated it.
Earlier that season, in Halifax as a matter of fact, Keenan ordered Kocur to fight Mike Peluso, whom Keenan had in Chicago. Kocur kept coming back to the bench barking at Keenan, “Your bleeping boy won’t fight me.”
The idea that the team skidded after Lundqvist’s “positive” talk to them at the bench — Giannone said it absolutely was — is asinine, IMO. And if they want to surmise there’s a problem with the team, they’ll have to surmise somewhere else.
BDL listed the guys who would fight on that ’94 team, but they also had playable toughness guys like Larmer, Lowe, MacTavish, Anderson, Tikkanen, Matteau, not to mention the Captain. Those guys were pretty tough, too.
Hockey Sittoo
So Carp, if they are “sellers” and want to play the kids etc, do they also start managing Hank’s starts for the rest of the year? Does it make sense for him to continue to play that much or do they play Pavelec a lot more and hope to turn him for an asset if he continues to play well?
Thank you, coos. Chad Jennings on the Yankees too. He also got sliced the same day as me and Phil … They still have a couple of guys who do a great job with the high schools, but if you’re not into HS sports it is indeed a rag.
Good question, Sittoo. I don’t know. I imagine Lundqvist will have much input into how much he plays. I also imagine they’re not going to me mathematically out of it, even after the sell, for quite a while.
Why do I get the feeling we’re going to get a New Post after I typed all that garbage?
Hockey Sittoo
Yeah that’s a good point. That race is wildly tight. Some weird scores out there tonight. Looks like Pitt is turning it on. What a surprise…

Dr. Wicky MD
Jeezus Christ, there are some serious reading comprehension issue here…
It was McGuire(not McKenzie, I remembered) and they did NOT blame the skid on hank. He said the team not responding after that “incident” and playing the way it has since, could be an indication that there is a fracture in the lockerroom (ie not everyone pulling the rope the same way)
Everyone quit getting their knickers in a knot over the goalie.
Beezle
Norm that link made my head hurt. Please apologize.
James G
Carp, I really wouldn’t be surprised if they sell and make the playoffs anyhow.
Of course with the way things are right now if they didn’t have Nash or Grabner up front or McD on the back end it would be pretty brutal
Dr. Wicky MD
He did not say what hank did was bad or wrong, just that the team did not respond in the next few games the way you think/hoped they would.
Might “MIGHT” be an indication of a not so cohesive room.
James G
Ok got it now, Wick. So there was absolutely positively no cohesion in the room and the team wants Hank traded

this is the first step in a major selloff.
Interesting stat about McLeod. Players of his ilk tend to be journeymen. 12 years in the league, and the Rangers are only his 3rd team. A year and a half with Nashville, the rest in Colorado. I know I’m trying to put a positive spin here, but still.
Peter Holland is their No. 1 center at the moment.
Wondering if McLeod is actually Donald Brashear 2.0 at this point.
McLeod is only Donald Brashear if Glen gave him a call before claiming him and promised him power play time.
I think whoever said it is to entertain the fans may be on to something. In addition to losing their games have become very boring. Maybe he’ll make some noise in the MSG library.
The move is Satheresque. We may hear renewed calls from some posters to”FIRE SATHER!”
We’re still haven’t replaced Prust.
Cooscoos
this year is different though.
Just got home from the Dentist ugh! Still it wasn’t as bad as watching a Ranger game!
I agree with those who say Sather had input on this.
SIRE FATHER!
Of course Slats had input. Does Dolan constantly deposit big checks into Sather’s account just for him to carry towels from the laundry to the cubicles? You can bet that Slats DEMANDS input. Exactly how naive are some here?
LOL, Sather.
Bingo, Carp. Gives them a quality they didn’t have. What people think of that quality= an entirely different conversation.
Look at the bright side: At least they didn’t trade for Lucic…
It’s also become readily apparently that Coos thinks a lot of us here are naive.
Sounds like another one of those “conspiracy theories”, Evro…
Hey Carp, I was wondering if you still stand by your final Metro standings prediction?
Conspiracy theories? Here? Say it ain’t so!
Holy Shiskabob! Pavelec is the first goalie off! Maybe he gets a start?
Not all of them are pipe organs, BDL.
Everyone in Canada would salivate to get Kreider if only he spoke French rather than Russian. BTW, I suspect his Russian “fluency” is a figment of some nitwit reporter’s uninformed imagination that went viral.
Evrock – Just trying to stir the pot. 🙂
yeah, he’s not fluent and never claimed to be.
From Hacklund:
“On the NY Rangers…
Mixed reports about whether the Rangers are buyers or sellers, and now we are starting to hear McD’s name possibly moved….I really don’t see it and talking to people as of now the Rangers still believe they are only a few points from being solidly in the playoffs, and they feel they haven’t played well to this point…but we are not even at 50 games yet…”
Well if Eklund says it…
Once again, denting his, ahem, credibility.
BTW, they still want to make the playoffs.
So Carp, YOU ADMIT that Kreider isn’t fluent in Russian! LOL@ slop by the way.
SO CARP! you ADMIT that they want to make the playoffs!
James G 2:21 : Finally a post that makes sense.
Gorton is going to have to be very creative in order to sell Nash and Grabner, and STILL make the playoffs.
McDonagh probably isn’t higher in that list because he’s not as likely as the guys above him to be traded.
If former Columbus Blue Jacket star Rick Nash goes, does former Columbus Blue Jacket not-very-good-coach go too?
just for entertainment value can’t wait until McLeod is on Buchnevich’s line or better yet dresses before him
Eklund: “…the Rangers still believe they are only a few points from being solidly in the playoffs.” LOL. a FEW points from a solid playoff position. This guy should be working in the basement of a Stop@Shop.
Did Hank get hurt at practice yet so he can sit out All Star farce and rest?
I said they want to make the playoffs, BDL. It’s not going to be a priority.
Ev – are you implying that the Canadian website is prioritizing the players on Canadian-based teams? They better not!
Hoffman, Ottawa
Maroon, Edmonton.
Nuff said.
GMs know what McDonagh is. The only question is his contract beyond next year.
Gorton. made the mistake of giving Smith long years and big money for a job McLeod covers for 1/2 a season and 600 thou. The fact that Smith is undisciplined on and off the ice, (comes in fat?) and plays a pedestrian defense at best just compounds the error.
Plus, Smith barely holds his own even with non-scrappers.
got paid off a nice playoff run. but fooled everybody.
Carp ADMITS in his 1:46 that whether those of us outside the organization think the rangers were “run out of the building” or not in LA…the players and people inside the organization DO feel that way
😉
Commander Cody is in the barn!
Dave
Listen to the most recent 31 thoughts podcast, might cover some of what you are saying
Lmao SN
Much easier to ‘wrestle’ these days to neutralize your opponent in a scrap, especially while wearing a visor.
Star Wars reference +1
Should be the word basically between “carp” and “admits” in my 3:11
Sorry, my bad
basically an error. apology accepted
Ain’t nobody got time for podcasts Wick!
But they have time to post here all day?
😉
So is this an nhl roster addition or AHL?
Do we know?
What time is it out there, Wick? 8 a.m.?
Let’s not act like Cody McLeod is going to got oodles of ice time from this coach.
Roster addition. Cantonacchi sent down to make room.
“got paid off a nice playoff run. but fooled everybody.”
Not me.
I’m on the can
Geez, when I mentioned McLeod yesterday I was making a yolk. Now I have egg on my face.
When the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, peace will guide the planets and the Rangers will win tonight.
I’m a Naive American I was born here!
I’d agree that they were prioritizing Canadian teams’ players but number one is Evander Kane. Yes, Buffalo is close to Canada, but it’s not in Canada.
The Age of Aquariums.
I think Cody is so old that he is grandfathered visor-wise.
He’s grandfathered helmet-wise.
This is the dawning of a new ranger franchise, a new ranger franchise, a new ranger franchise. Franchiseeeeeeeeeeeee
Can’t wait until Vesey, letierie or even Buch or Miller are scratched so this guy can play! That being said, I’m fine with him dressing once we move nash, Grabner and others.
those guys are usually too busy praising the other team and the other coach to tell you what’s happening behind the play.
We all have our favorite enforcer. Mine is Petr Nedved. One bad azz hombre
Salmon Joe are years past their sell date.
Eklund>Ultra Maroon!
Carp
It’s 3 a.m.
Mine was Theo
My favorite enforcer was Joe Paterson. He was great at beating other guy’s fist with his face. I remember after his first couple of fights he looked like he went 15 rounds with a sledgehammer with the bruises and black and blues on his face.
I just hope we don’t trade anyone to Anaheim because they’ll be wearing a pit jersey sooner than later!
JR – “the Rangers have to be more discipled in their own end”
JR – “for all intensive purposes, the trading deadline will inherit some big moves”
Remember when Kocur knocked out Daneyko with one punch? The good old days!
Carp, Smith didn’t fool everyone. Doodie and I called that one way in advance
JR’s brain – “wtf is it that comes out my mouth?”
E3 said their own end!
Remember when Malakhov absolutely shocked Kocur, then beat him? Loved Kocur. He’d always show me the bloody scar tissue on his hands. Once said, “That’s what happens when you throw from the ass.”
Member?
Member band camp?
The conductor was Rusty Trombone.
Someone earlier threw Chris Simon in with some other guys.
Most remember him for the hollweg or ruutu incident, but he had seriously good nhl hockey skills and he could play on any line.
Carp
Can’t remeber exactly who it was but I think it was Nathan Horton when he was with Florida and malakhov was with the rangers and just beat Horton down.
After the game messier said you don’t want to tangle with him (paraphrasing)
Wicky is spot on. A guy like McLeod isn’t what they need to “protect” players. They need guys that can protect themselves.
Wonder how Oilers fans feel about Lucic and his 8 million playing fourth line minutes
McLeod is not with the Rangers yet, so won’t be until after the break …
AV got a chuckle when asked about McLeod earlier:
https://twitter.com/NYRangers/status/956633487997509633
Wicky, love me some Fleury. But I’m always a fan of the “little” guys.
In terms of Salmon Joe, Sam is definitely an unwitting beneficiary of “The Potvin Effect”. Steve Goldstein was actually a pretty good play-by-play guy for the Panthers until too many years of sitting alongside Denis Potvin. Now he’s a homer and his IQ had been exactly halved.
Kocur was a bad mutha
How funny would it be if McLeod actually said that to JV last year?
Man, that team had some of that “playable toughness” didn’t it?
E3 – will you be putting the shark tank’s cans to the test this evening?
E3 had a breakfast burrito, chili for lunch and going pre-game Indian food to melt the porcelain off the commode.
That era if Ranger hockey had,
Buek
Graves
Kocur
Hartman
Kypreos
Wells
Domi
Langdon
They were usually a three line team, and some guys were just allowed to do there thing when needed.
Ev
I like the little players that play up in weight but are willing to pay the fee for playing chippy.
I don’t like the sideshow bob types that won’t pay the fee and just run around like they are special but really aren’t.
Oh really.
Everyone was extolling Henks leadership after that.
Well the fanboys anyway
Though the drop has much more to do with the roster or what is left of it
Absolutely loved Darren Langdon – I thought he had a little bit of hockey in him too.
SN
I didn’t interpret what they said about as hanks fault on the subsequent losses (I agree with you, roster and imo coach). I took it as the team didn’t respond to it at all and that there might be divisions in the room.
Besides, let’s be honest he’s only a goalie
😉
Tonight is a very exciting night. We get to find out if Mats Zuccarello can score a goal in the month of January. This is his last chance. He has to score a goal eventually, doesn’t he?
“Hey Coach, you lookin’ for a tough 4th liner? ” Classico. Thanx for that one Carp.
Carp, you can put me in the list with Doodie referencing smith. The 1st game he played for the rangers last year after the trade I posted on here I didn’t like him, called him a giveaway machine and have continued to post on here I don’t like his game.
Always, when Joey K’s name is brought up, I remember him, after a maybe ’94 scrimmage, seeking out Kovalev’s translator and telling him, “explain to your guy who I am and what I do here and tell him if he ever slams me to the boards like that again, I will send him back where he came from in a box.”
you can add shattenkirk to that list. I remember posting on here a bunch of times rangers better not sign shattenkirk and was hopeful they didn’t resign smith. Stupid signings and a waste of cap space.
Kocur had cap space.
Kocur admitted that he never felt entirely comfortable fighting his good buddy Probert.
Picked up a copy of The Journal News the other day just out of curiosity. What a totally minor league rag this inkslop has become. As I’ve said before, the only thing they had going for themselves was Carp and Reisman. Now, they are actually an embarrassment.
Don’t consider myself a fan boy of Hanks but had no problem with what he did. That being said I doubt this skid is “in response” to his words
And I think AV is full of it. Hank on pace to start 67 games this year. Don’t tell me that his starts are carefully calculated. He bombed in Anaheim you realize he needs a game off and you’re starting Pav. Just say that
I was surprised to discover that there are people out there who have actually analyzed fights and momentum. Those curious can visit https://georgetownsportsanalysis.wordpress.com/2013/10/13/the-true-impact-of-a-hockey-fight/ and draw their own conclusions. Apologies if this has been posted previously.
They tend to give Henrik a game or 2 around breaks like Christmas, the bye”week” or now the allstar break (where unfortunately he doesn’t get a break). so i do think this was planned.
Cody who?
Wick, said that the day after. Not a good idea when the goalie calls out the boys. I’ve seen goalie pads go in the shower.
I’d rather have Tanner Glass.
I’d rather have a beer
McLeod, Papa. Like the dude who was the highlander
Highlander reference
+1
Yeah that’s a good point. That race is wildly tight. Some weird scores out there tonight. Looks like Pitt is turning it on. What a surprise…
coos
Kocur left his opponents with cap space!
Norm that link made my head hurt. Please apologize.
Carp, I really wouldn’t be surprised if they sell and make the playoffs anyhow.
Of course with the way things are right now if they didn’t have Nash or Grabner up front or McD on the back end it would be pretty brutal
He did not say what hank did was bad or wrong, just that the team did not respond in the next few games the way you think/hoped they would.
Might “MIGHT” be an indication of a not so cohesive room.
Ok got it now, Wick. So there was absolutely positively no cohesion in the room and the team wants Hank traded
James
Apparently that’s what the incoherent interpretation is, so yes
SO YOU ADMIT IT!!’
James
Yes, I absolutely ADMIT there are reading comprehension issues by some here.
My message on Carp’s voice mail:
“Carp it’s James. McLeod is here, George is dead. Call me back”
I just plugged up a can at the tank
Nothing further your honor! 🙂
‘Atta boy E3!
First there was the thrilla in Manilla, now there’s the stank at the tank
Except McLeod’s not here, Steinbrenner’s dead, and George is alive. Call me back.
Some 16 year old on the noir-raptors scored a hattie vs Detroit. Shocked it didn’t happen to our boys
