Last time these two teams met, NY made New Jersey look like an expansion team. Expect them to come out with purpose, especially at home.

Home team forechecking with five, creating lots of pressure and leaving a lot of space behind for the Rangers to exploit. Other than the 4th line, though, they’re not forechecking at all, looking for transition too much.

Rangers have to start realizing they need to make much quicker decisions in their own end. The Devils, the few times the lose the puck on the forecheck, are on you immediately. It’s a victory merely to get the puck into the neutral zone, or even iced. Domination this period more than last.

From the Devils point of view, they know they should be up by 2 or 3 and would normally be frustrated that they squandered so many chances, except for one thing: they’ll have every confidence they can do it again in the third. I can’t remember the last time the Rangers were this comprehensively dominated. Gonna miss the third, can’t wait to read what lines AV ended up putting together to try to get a better matchup against the last-change Hall line. Keep yelling at them, Sittoo!
What we have given the Devils so far is a big fat chug of confidence that they are tons above us and have no excuse to not dominate us in any future important contests.

Dave is refreshing, Sittoo, in his truth-telling. Occasionally, he will throw a dog a bone because of his good nature (Staal the latest) but all in all, the one guy who will tell it like it is, devil be damned. And yes, Shatty stunk up the ice, capping it off with his anemic shootout pathos.

This game obviously meant a lot more to the devils than it did to the Rangers because they forgot they actually had to play a game after the anthem tonight. Carp is correct that was no penalty on the Enigma! One thing for sure after that embarrassment we’re good! Miller explaining something to Kreider I think during a time out. Kreider looked at him and provably said “What” then went right our on the ice and gave the puck away amazing! I am sick of losing to the devs why aren’t the Rangers?
