As bad as that third period was defensively, NYR lost this game in the first 30 or so minutes when they had the puck and did nothing with it. And then when Lundqvist laid that rolling egg.

Reviewing the goals: McD and Buch combine on the 2nd, Shatty falls asleep on the 3rd, Staal and McD give Anis. 2 whacks on the 4th (and McD tries to skate away with the puck before he has it). 5th, Lundqvist is too deep, Shatty gives up on the play, McD busts it but too late. Good to see the Rangers didn’t give up, but that was stinky pile of mistakes. Now to enjoy the comments I missed!
Eh. They won 6 and lost 1. They played a good road game for 2 periods and then completely forgot how to play hockey in their own end for 6 or 7 minutes. Didn’t expect them to win 70 in a row so may as well move on. Hopefully they got it out of their system and can get back to business vs Columbus.

Carp, totally agree that Hank laid an egg on the 1st goal, but I also agree with AV that he kept them in it when Chicago was pressing hard in the 2nd. The way the team came out in the 3rd was just way too reminiscent of the way they failed to defend in most of the first 10 games. I also think that the failure to capitalize on the 4 minute power play was the true game changer and not the crappy goal. But c’est la vie. Maybe this means we see Smith on Friday.

Good morning Boneheads! Hate watching the game DVR’d and missing out on all the fun. I believe all these fancy boy hackwagon passes refects the AV philosophy! 28 shots on goal when they easily could have had 40. Oh well I still say this team misses the playoffs. As bad as the D and forecheck can be at times the real issue is they are just not consistently strong enough in net!
