29th in the league with a -7 goal differential. Off to a great start. Too bad they decided to mail in the 3rd period tonight. The forwards are getting little done. They cannot score and cannot defend. Otherwise, everything is cool.

I thought this blog was a HAV to help Carp’s loyal followers to stay together and have a place to discuss Ranger hockey. Like Sittoo, I enjoy the intelligent analysis, humorous banter and varying opinions expressed here. With that being said, the nasty insults between many of you is really detracting from what could be a great Rangers blog. There is enough crap out in the world, can we please keep this as a place to just rant about the “rebuilt on the fly” team we will be suffering with this year. Our time would be better spent starting pools for how long AV lasts, when Nash gets traded or we could discuss what we could get for Hayes and/or Kreider in a trade. I don’t post often, but have been a loyal follower. It’s becoming much harder to follow with all the personal attacks that don’t seem to stop. Last but not least, does anyone know why Carp no longer posts here? Has MSG restricted his posting on blogs or is it a personal choice of his? I do miss Carp’s insightful post game analysis.

Sometimes you gotta slap ’em down when they get a little ornery…

They’re winning many games only scoring one goal.

Hanka played well again. No offensive support. Well the offense was offensive, but you know what I mean.

Pathetic defensive play by Shattenkirk on the tying goal.

How come Calvert plays like an all-star against the Rangers? Always!

I don’t know about you guys, and maybe I’ll get some batteries thrown at me, but this is what I think. If this losing rebuild on the fly trend continues I would rather it be with the younger guys on the ice. Let them learn Deangelo needs to play. Carey, Holden, & and the Cracker out. Trade Gnashless, Grabber & the Hobbit. Bring up Boo see what he can do & Vinny. Maybe Hank will ask to be traded. Guy has a lot of pride but he has to know there’s no cup coming to MSG anytime soon! Kreider can’t hit the broad side of a barn! Bring up Graves. Fire Bazooka Joe!

I agree with trading Grabner and Nash although the latter probably will wait until deadline. Will help accelerate the rebuild.

the Rangers are lucky that the Yankees are having this run. When that ends though, the Rangers will have nowhere to hide.

I’m not surprised with the results so far this season. Rangers have only one defensemen that can actually defend in his own zone and only one decent line. We all new the window closed and dark days were coming. I hope the rangers stay the course and if that means a top 5 pick in next years draft than I’m all for it. I hope Gorton and his build on the fly comment was tongue and cheek and actually builds this team in the future the right way. I don’t want to see anymore the rangers building a team just to make the playoff just to get knocked out of the 1st or 2nd round.

    I agree Eli.
Waive Holden, and Kapfer. Play Tony D, and call up Graves as the 7 (2 full years in the AHL already ). Waive Carey, and Cracknell. Call up Boo, and Leterrie. Waive DD. Send for Andersson in Sweden. Playoff team? Doubtful. But at least they would be moving forward.

    As far as trades go,
I would follow the Yankees model. Make the trades as early as possible. I think it was around 90 games, maybe less, that Cashman started to pull the trigger. I wouldn’t go much past 40. Grabner, Nash are the two obvious ones. They would have to decide if they want to keep Zucc, and McD long term. If not, both would have high value in that they are under contract for another season.

I’d rather the clock not start this year on our 2 number 1’s. We’ll be in cap hell enough with buyout of Girardi and likely of Staal in another year or 2. So I’d rather the number 1’s contracts start next year not this. Get more for our money too.

I watched the Leaves-Devils game the other night and they had a graphic with all the young players the Devils had in the lineup. Then, I thought about the Rangers giving Chytl 4 minutes of ice time in a game and replacing him on the roster with Crackpot, benching DeAngelo for Kampfer and having all those defense prospects in the minors. Maybe there’s a reason that the Devils are looking pretty good despite the thrashing they got last night and the Rangers floundering.
