The way Blues structure the game, in road mode, make it almost impossible to organize pronounced offence, falling into their organized chaos. Just talented individual(s) needed for singlehanded finish.

I had an argument with a penguins fan the other day and was accused of being jealous of the pens’ success. I said I was jealous of the fact that in Pittsburgh they’re allowed to do a full rebuild and suck for enough years that they get multiple high draft picks. I said I was also jealous of their luck that they were able to do all that TWICE when generational players were available.

Just catching up on the comments. Are people seriously blaming this loss on Lundqvist? Because it sounds like there are a few of you who think unless Hank pitches a shutout he somehow sucks. He played a solid game. Once again the team (Hank included, even though it was a terrible turnover) failed to show up for the opening whistle. After that he played damn good. His teammates on the other hand decided not to skate at all for the entire 2nd period. This “overhauled” defense is a shambles. Girardi must be watching highlights and laughing his ass off…
And oh yeah poor Antti. Kind of made my heart ache watching that happen to him on such a big stage. Hope he makes a big comeback in his next game.

Hanka played well. So did Buchnevich. Thought Shattenkirk was OK and McDonagh had his usual good game. Ziba with another goal.
The bad? A lot of it.
Where were Kreider, Zucc, Hayes, Nash? Can’t remember a good thing any of these guys did.
Kampfer? Really? They sent all those promising prospects to Hartford so they could start Kampfer? Holden-on-to-dear-life didn’t do much either.

Please get DD off the second power play unit. Geez!
They really need a 2C and 3C. Hayes stinks. Miller is better on the wing. In fact a 1C and move Ziba down to 2C would be ideal, but 1C’s don’t exactly show up on your door step looking for a place to play.

TYM – Dead on with the AV and Bruce Arena comparison. I watched the USA soccer game and it looked like a Rangers game. The field was as bad as the Garden ice when the temperature gets about 75 degrees. Now that i think about it, the field was worse than the Garden ice.
Think back to when Tampa eased out of the playoffs in Game 7, triple it, and you still wouldn’t match the lack of interest the soccer team showed – much like our boys in red, white and blue.
USA’s veteran goalie faltered when it counted, much like Hank did against Ottawa at key times in the playoffs last year.
The difference – status quo with the Rangers while the pink slips will be passed around fast and furious in the USSF.
Better effort against a team that is playing real well. Hank played well but if he makes a save on one of the two in the first it’s a different game. Hutton was good in the third. Have to clean up the turnovers in their own end and get scoring from someone other than Zika. They haven’t filled the holes left by the loss of Step and Lindberg and it really shows. They can’t sustain pressure for more than one shift. I wonder if Dr. Hook Hugh Carey stays after Fast is activated.
