He’s like Vesey right now. Tons of effort but almost nothing to show for it. Hopefully that’ll change soon. Can’t last forever.

Good morning Boneheads! Just woke and checked the score another loss imagine that. Hank rounding into form. I know it’s not his fault, never is. But without him being Great this bunch has no chance. My question, will the NYR win another game this year with Lundqvist in net?
UKRanger
West Coast games = 3:30am puck drop here so no chance of watching that one!
From what the highlights show could easily have gone the other way but for a post.
My one and only observation would be to get Coach Orion and the Ducks teach the Rangers how to pick up the trash – most of these recent goals are coming from 2nd/3rd shots and rebounds – and generally players not picking up their men around the net or moving their feet enough once they get into a defensive position.
Bdl
The enjoyment of reading the go time comments is gone. It has been hi jacked by one or two people who have nothing but hatred towards the Rangers. Norm and Olga are there trying to fight the good fight, but they seem to be out numbered.
bobbyo
hey gloom and doomers…in the playoffs in a good spot something we did not have last year… Hank just needs to get a few more games to get up to speed and a few guys especially McD should get a game or 2 off down the stretch.
At this point if we are going to leave a defenseman unprotected in the expansion draft I say it should be Holden. Klein has had a rough year but he’s been banged up for most of it. He’s been valuable in the three prior seasons he’s been here. Holden had one solid stretch and has had a lot of ugly out there. Not too big a difference in age. Not losing anything that can’t be replaced. Nothing good anyhow.

Good morning, boneheads!
BDL, I still enjoy reading it. It’s entertaining.
Carp used to spend a lot of energy trying to fight. So did I. It made no difference.
Didn’t everyone also freak out when Lundqvist came back after that vascular injury to his neck because he got shelled in Boston and then wasn’t as sharp as Talbot over the next couple of games? And then he found his game and everyone calmed down (really, they just moved on to the next problem)..You’d think at least some of those fans learned from that situation. The pessimism is really getting to be unlikable.
in the grand scheme of things I’ll reiterate my long term problem with this organization: Way too much time over the last two seasons talking about how they need to play a full 60 minutes. They know they have to be better, they know it needs to change, theyre pissed off about their effort, they’re not sure why it happens but it needs to get fixed. And yet it’s still one of the biggest problems to date. Maybe it’s time to find out who or what is responsible for this issue and attempt to correct it?
SN
“I’m a big believer in playing the right way and for two periods we didn’t play the right way. We kind of got dominated,” Derek Stepan said
Agree perspective is needed but Step would be a Negative Nancy with his comment. What no Step comments on ‘playing the right way?’
.
Some are more emotionally attached to the winning and losing of every game, some can see a bigger picture. Some just quit on them and root for another team (cough, cough)
.
one cup in 77 seasons will drive some crazy…
.
Just happy they stayed in 1st WC for POs. Got Pumps a game, kicked JT in the arse, exposed Holden as the real 7th D and created more Henk Angst.
SN
Well..not really happy about the Henk part!
.
Awaiting the E3 review; rumor it is a 3 flusher out of 5.
I’ll be Mr. Sunshine when they show up for 60 minutes which they haven’t done in about a month. They had about 15 minutes of good hockey last night at the beginning of the third period. Just enough to rob an hour of sleep from me. Other than that it was another no show. JT got two but did watch Tierney get the third Shark goal. Sjkei is as good as Yandle right now and has the size and willingness to become a better defender. Keep those first rounders. Holden was awful, but, the call on him in OT was sketchy. If you put your stick in somebody’s stomach you shouldn’t get a call. Hank brought his B game. Let’s hope he finds his A game. IF he doesn’t does Raanta get a playoff start? Quenville did it with Crawford last year.
SN
James – they won’t protect Holden or Klein IMHO. I also wouldn’t protect Henk but many think his window is still open. #sad.
St Pete Eli
I am looking forward to Friday night I hate the pens. Rangers will rise to the occasion in spite of all the lackluster play of late! I’m believing they will break the home game losing streak. Go Rangers!
ilb2001
I agree with SN, they probably will not protect either. It depends on what they decide to do with Girardi. They have no choice with Hank anyway.
SN
Last season 9-10 in March and April; This season 6-8 with 5 games left.
.
Pens beat Bolts 2-1 in Game 7 of ECF so the spin of ‘losing to SC champ’ is a helpful yet tenuous claim.
UKRanger
I think if they’ve got any sense LV will stay well away from Holden or Klein and will probably steal one of Grabner, Jesper Fast or Oscar Lindberg. Lindberg would be my choice, he could easily move up the 2nd line (and possibly end up with Hagelin on his wing) – or Auntie if they’re not able to take someone like Malcolm Subban, Grubauer or Korpisalo
Norm Merton
These games have not mattered, except for the 13- and 7-spot tryouts, for a month. They’re beginning to matter as they ramp up, but any team that tries to play 3-period hockey for 82 games, especially when they’re locked into a playoff spot early, is an idiot.
Bdl
The reality is the Rangers have had nothing to play for, for close to a month. They are going to be the first wild card, and many of the teams they have been playing have had more to play for. I know that’s an excuse for the way they have been playing, but it also the truth.
Norm Merton
Is vibin’ BDL a good thing? 😳
St Pete Eli
Just a thought, if they are not going to put forth the effort as good entertainers do just because there is nothing to play for. Than may they should reduce ticket prices since we are not getting the best show possible!
Norm Merton
As far as the hand-wringing Go Time comments are concerned, it’s just a way for folks to get through a game they care about. We all do it; it’s only a question of degree. And it is entertaining, especially the Rangers as a gaggle of eunuchs who can’t pass, shoot, forecheck, backcheck, goaltend–see, RIGHT THERE, Stepan can’t hit a barn door (later he scores a beauty), Grabner just showed you with that miss that the Rangers, just stating facts, are one-and-done, season already over, franchise over, city over, country over, world over. I told you so!! Where is everyone…?
Bdl
Norm,
We disagree about some players, but for the most part, I think we see the game the same way.
Norm Merton
Why jack ticket prices when you can call up Glass? I predict they’ll pay him for one more home fight.
ilb2001
Norm- too many comas. Who do you think you are, Gabriel Garcia Marquez?

He nut chopped him and then tripped him. Sounds ok to me.
Jumbo Shrimp attempting to circumcise McDonagh.
The same way there was no call on Kreider tripping before…
Amazing Ev
Rangers should try that Anaheim trick on the faceoff.
AV should have benched Holden a bit longer
Well, Carp did say we’d clinch with an OT loss sooooo…..
Vesey 0 shifts in the 3rd period
They lost a faceoff? No way.
Playoffs.
We got a check mark!
Playoffs? Playoffs???
Both teams wanted the point. The sharks players probably didn’t know they already clinched earlier.
Ranger clinch. And my butt cheeks unclinch.
Clean slate… Grabner it by the p$&@”
Unfortunately they already played their 1 good period. Be happy with the point.
Lololol Olga
Well the Sharks had their shot last season. Won’t see them in the finals this season.
Seriously zucc?
Zuccarello with his typical 2:00 OT shift
What the hell is wrong with Skjei?!!
Cursed I tell ya.
It’s over.
Holden playing his way off the backline
I’ll tell you one thing, the Rangers will never win a 3 on 3 OT in the playoffs.
Holden will have allowed the tying goal amd be liable for the winner….
You’re so negative, Olga.
Lundqvist sucks and I told ya.
Good point.
Sam sugarcoating the scenario, as always
And there you have it.
3 points out of 6 one the road. They didn’t deserve that many but I’ll take it.
Carp….if you see this, you’re the man. The prognosticator of prognosticators…. Carpadamus…. punxatanee Carp…
No rush to get over there Henrik.
We should’ve seen this coming. They were in ot and they hadn’t given up their nightly power play goal yet.
Holden for all three stars. Oh, you didn’t mean the sharks three stars?
This was also the first time we’ve scored 4 on a playoff team since February 9th…..
I do not want to see nick holden anymore this season.
Hank’s gaa since coming back is just under 5. I’m sure he’ll get it back by the playoffs. What he’ll get back, I don’t know.
@hockeystatminer tweeted that the 5×5 high danger scoring chances were 19-3 in favor of San Jose. Can we not pin this loss on Hank please…
Forgot the first goal. Holden was actually directly or indirectly involved with 3 goals, including the tying and winning ones. Ugh.
It’s on Holden mostly. But at least 2 of those he should’ve had. The shorty and the winner are on him.
Beep is a bit snake bit right now but I can sense he is on the verge of a 5 goal outburst!
He’s like Vesey right now. Tons of effort but almost nothing to show for it. Hopefully that’ll change soon. Can’t last forever.
