Rangers’ second and third periods play last night was like the Blizzard Stella…nonexistent.

All the ladies in NY are wondering where all those promised inches at?!

Thanks! I’m here all week, try the veal!

I wasn’t surprised that the rangers lost last night. I thought the other night against the red wings was more on the red wings playing a awful game than the rangers looking like a good team. Rangers can’t even beat a team without there 2 best players in the lineup, pathetic.

The Rangers looked like a good team in the first period. After that, not so much. They forgot how to finish. How else do you explain all of the “grade A chances” and nothing to show for it?

As Norm and Carp have said, (unless they go into a tailspin), these are not must wins.

Looking forward to getting Fast back. (ducks)

    Kamfer>Clendening
Not because he scored. Because we need the 3rd pair guy with Skjei to be steady and defensively responsible. IMO Clendening’s better offensively and could play on a lot of NHL teams.

I worry a little about Buchnevich. I’m pulling for him and I think he’s going to be real good, but as a rookie, he has to pay his dues and he’s got no other Russian team mates to speak with. Looked like he was going to cry when he missed the net.

Boy, do I not miss the mid-state NY shoveling or the southern NH shoveling. Out in the NW, you don’t have to shovel the rain, and there’s not as much of that as I expected.

I can see Raanta being taken by Vegas and flipped for a 2nd round pick. If he’s not taken by Vegas I think we should keep him as Henrik definitely needs a solid backup at his age.

Ilb – normal for someone with ‘back spasms’ being out this long or are they perhaps not telling us the full story?

And Buch still thinks he’s on the big ice and that he has loads of time to make up his mind what he’s going to do. And checking will get tighter soon. Somebody talk to the boy.

I want THE and JT to play tough, which I think is their natural instinct, but I don’t want them over aggressive, fighting or in the box. Management’s job is to see to it that lesser talents are employed do the serious dirty-work.

CCCP have Carp get you Buch’s cell # so you can talk some good Red Army sense into the kid. Failing that, THE will have to fill in with his Boston Russian.

The North country is getting a good amount of much needed snow on our mountains. Unfortunately, also wind. I could use a few scoops of your snow in the back of my car, its too light and starts to float in this stuff if I do over 40 even with the studs on.

  28. Rick Carpiniello (@RickCarpiniello) Avatar

I am not sure Raanta has more value to somebody else than he has to the Rangers. Somebody would have to be convinced that he can be a No. 1. Not sure what evidence there might be that he is or isn’t. Backups are plentiful in the NHL — though it’s pretty bad when you don’t have one (Fish Tanks). I think he’d be good in Vegas, but he would still be a backup, and I’m pretty sure George McPhee would be much, much better off taking a forward from the Rangers.

  29. Rick Carpiniello (@RickCarpiniello) Avatar

and with Shampoo Boy now 35, and going through his most difficult season, a solid backup might be more important than ever.

All I can say is I’m glad this storm track was west of eastern LI because originally they were saying 2 feet plus and I’ve had enough of shoveling snow and 2 plus feet would have been brutal. The problem with the rangers is they don’t finish. In every game they have grade A opportunities and they either pass the puck, miss the net of shoot it back into the goalie. That’s what separates them from the craps, pens, blackhawks, wild and other good teams, not to mention those grade A opportunities shrink against teams who forecheck hard, play physical, something the rangers can’t handle in there own zone. It will be even worse in the playoffs.

I’m going to hold my tongue and stay somewhat positive. Losing to the lightning is equal to a colonoscopy. It seems to me if they don’t easily score off the rush they get frustrated and fail to put in the hard work in the dirty areas. It baffles me.

    Speaking of Black Hawks…

This day in hockey history, March 14th 1933, the Chicago Black Hawks Lost 1-0 to the Boston Bruins even though they scored twice.

How was this possible? Boston was awarded the victory in 1933 when Chicago coach Tommy Gorman was ejected for hollering at the referee and the Chicago players refused to return to the ice as a result. The referee placed the puck at center ice with the score tied 2-2, then Cooney Weiland took the puck and fired it into the empty Chicago goal and the game was forfeited 1-0 to Boston.
