Lundqvist stole that game. Haven’t been able to say that much this season. It was 60 minutes of Lundqvist, two moments of brilliance by Buchnevich and Lindberg, a solid effort from Vesey, and absolute garbage from almost everyone else.

Hankie outright stole that one…even the goal they did score barely crossed the line….as for the defenders it was like watching Hollywood and Wolfman….where’d who go?
Good morning, boneheads!
Hank stole it, alright..
If you’re Bruce Cassidy, you’re trying to solidify your playoff spot ( not a sure thing yet), you play your best hockey for a long stretch, you dominate the game, and you run into a hot goaltender. And then you get beat by a 21 year old rookie who doesn’t speak English yet, followed by a high skill goal produced by a 4th liner. What do you say?
And I guess Buchnevich’s shot isn’t underrated anymore.
Carp, next time you see him, show him this:”Бросай шайбу чаще, дружок!”
I hate it when the Rangers dominate a game, but still lose. It’s nice to see the tables turned for a change. How the Bruins didn’t score about 3 goals in the first period was all Hank. Brendan Smith looked like he was nervous playing in his first game with his new team and it was contagious. Everybody was giving up the puck in their own zone.
Lindberg putting on the moves in the offensive zone. Didn’t know he had it in him.
The more I see Skjei, the more I like him. I think he’s come a long way this season.
Nice hip check by Zucc.
Henk you very much
The Machine showing flashes of early last season, hope that play continues. Thought the new comer struggled at times but hard to walk into completely different system. He did push a few guys away from the crease which was nice to see. We are a banged up team right now, some on ice some off but the schedule has been favorable giving us all but one game that should be very winnable. Let’s step back from the ledge and hope for a good run.
Boston coach meets Van Morrison. Bruce Cassidy and the Moondance Kid.
Re the schedule; the league provided a mandatory ‘rest’ period in Jan and then the ASG break in Feb (after starting late) which has condensed the game calendar to create little breathing room during the non-rest periods and placing a premium on depth and staying healthy.
.
Last night some guys looked a little beat up but playing through it. JT and THE have been quiet.
.
First round match up tomorrow night with the Habs new braun on display.
Great, great game. You’re down four regulars, playing a pistol-hot Bruins team, and your best player wins it for you, with more than a little help from the captain, and some key contributions from Vesey, Zucc, not too many others. The Buchnevich and Lindberg goals were wonderful pieces of skill, and I can only imagine what a Bruin’s Bonehead blog might have made on Chara’s and Carlo’s pylon defending on each. Easy to see how Smith became expendable in Detroit–got undressed a couple of times, nervous on the puck as others have noted, but some good plays from him here and there, too. Good depth move.
Hank had a great game. It reminded me of old times.
I saw a lengthy post-game interview where Hank was pretty happy and relaxed. He said he ripped into the team after the first period and there was a lot of yelling in the locker room.
Buchnevich shows some sniping ability. I am glad Gorton didnt trade him for Shattenkirk. We weren’t one defenseman away from being cup contenders. I am not one of those people who say, If we didn’t win the Stanley Cup we failed.”
I live in NH & went to the game last night. Marc Staal was lost. He had no idea who was flying by him. Really makes me wonder how his “bad” eye effects his peripheral vision. JT was close to invisible, but THE was more engaged than it might have seemed on TV. McD’s college roommate just leveled Kreicji, I believe, after taking a stick in the head. Buch’s shot & Lindberg’s move were awesome! Bruins fans started heading for the exits after the 2nd goal. The rest left after Backes took out the Birthday Boy late in the 3rd & collected a well deserved goalie interference penalty!
Carp, don’t show Buchnevich ilb’s Russian words unless you want this to be you:
Last night Hank bailed out his teammates like they bailed him out earlier in the season. If they can ever get both things right this team can make some noise in the playoffs.
When the Rangers come out sluggish (and that is putting it kindly) like they did last night, I would like to see the coaches push the forwards to forecheck more. Even with Pirri and Puempel in the lineup, the Rangers have enough team speed to ramp up the forecheck and still get back defensively.
While I am on the coaching staff, why do they insist on putting our two right shooting forwards (Step and Ziba) on the same PP unit? Considering how the PP is struggling (again, putting it kindly), why not split them up so that you always have someone available for the Ovie spot – even if Step’s shot is lesser than Ziba’s.
I know that special teams success often runs in cycles, but the Rangers PP is back to being a momentum killer within games. They really do need to review the tapes from earlier in the season.
Staal was absolutely brutal last night. One of his worst games of the season. Holden wasn’t much better. Clendening also very bad. Skjei was meh. Smith was not good. McDonagh was good.
Zucc’s “hit” was Moore’s own fault, and it was stupid to see Hayes go after him for what was not only clean, but not even a “hit”. I guess the Bs follow Chara in that regard, trying to intimidate you to create a cushion around their players. It’s almost childish but I guess its the way the game has always been played when done right. In this case, it was a waste of time because Zucc can’t be intimidated. Just give him a slingshot and he’ll take your eye out.
Oops, I had one more question that I just remembered. Some time last night Carp wrote that he thought Buch would go back to Hartford when Grabner is ready. He is probably right because the Rangers don’t want to keep him around and burn one of their four non-emergency recalls so soon.
My question is could the Rangers have sent Buch down for a conditioning stint and then bring him back without triggering an “official” recall? They really didn’t need the roster spot because they could have placed Klein on Injured Reserve. Since there is no roster limit after the deadline, then the Rangers wouldn’t need to make any moves when Buch would come back from the conditioning stint or whenever Girardi and Klein were healthy.
Staal and Holden = Hollywood and Wolfman
Carp wants to see them play beach volleyball slathered in lotion and sweat
McDonagh and Girardi are Maverick and Goose. Smith is Merlin.
It’s going to be one of those days, I see.
It was a desperate Bs team. They needed it more, and yet Hank beat them. While focusing on the negatives, you missing the biggest positive of the season. Hank stole a game. We have not seen that this year, and come playoff time, we are going to need to see it.
SN, don’t blame the league on that one. It was the players union.
I don’t agree with the “everyone” else was garbage. A lot of guys played awfully. More than two or three didn’t. And I thought the Rangers were pretty good with the lead in the third.
Kreider was banged up vs Caps, didn’t practice the next day. I think he’s far less than 100 percent.
I feel the need…the need for a snow angel
At the moment the Kreider is Cougar
Eric is Kelly McGillis
Does that mean Carp is Viper?
Thx Carp. Seems more jammed than usual but I am in the too many regular season games camp. Enough playing for the Cup after Memorial Day.
.
Henk looked like Vintage Henk.
.
the lack of a possession game hurts in these contests where the O can’t take pressure off the D partly due to D not able to push the puck up the ice.
.
Need to divide Zucc and THE.
He’s Meg Ryan. He’s always telling Kenny Albert “take me to lunch or lose me forever”
Kenny Powers knows:
Yeah, the players wanted a gift from the owners for making them all that money by playing in the World Cup … hence the week off. Terrible for the game. I think they will consolidate so that all teams have the same week off, or maybe one conference one week, the other the following week. Or something. The first games back are awful … except for Columbus where Torts said “We talked about not wetting ourselves coming out of the break.” LOL
Zucc with Kreider is, and has been a mismatch. Kreider plays a speed game, and Carmello Zuccarello loves to hold on to the puck and play one against five.
Carp – I thought I read there was some talk that they might tag some extra days onto the All-Star Break if the NHL doesn’t shut down for the Winter Olympics.
OK, I updated to say “almost” everyone else.
it’s funny how over the years, Chara no longer absolutely towers over as many other players on the ice. Except on our team, they are gentle giants
Vesey played well last night, as did the 4th line. The defense was mostly poor, especially the Staal-Holden pair. Skjei continues to progress nicely and looks like a keeper, and Clendening is not as bad as I feared he would be. I thought Smith was meh……….he gave the puck away a lot. Might as well keep Buchnevich up and use the 1st of 4 call ups. there is nobody else in Hartford worth calling up.
that’s better than the way it is now, Anthony.
I was pissed last night because I had DVRed the game, thinking it was on NBCSN (hey, that’s what the Cablevision schedule said) and instead it was 2 1/2 hours of Premier League or some such. I caught the NHL Overtime interview that Boucher had rinkside with Hank. I’d love to have been in that locker room after the first. Jones and Roenick talked about how unusual that is; that Jones remembers playing with Roy who did that and when he spoke everybody listened. Anyway, great to see Hank steal one. Smith did look tight, but what a hit on Krejci!
One thing I remember about Smith as a Red Wing … he took some unnecessary penalties.
Will need 4 or 5 games to assess Smith. One thing the Red Wings did so well was neutral zone movement and playing as a 5 man unit. Don’t see that too much here. A couple of times he looked up to a spot and nobody was there.
Like the physical play particularly throwing down Seguin in front of the bench just before the Oscar goal after getting close-lined by Pesterneck. That kid may be good but he will be looking for a beat down if he keeps up the cheap shots.
Chara looked and played like the Winter Warlock. On his last legs to be generous. Over 16 years ago the trade of Zdeno Chara, Bill Muckalt & 1st Round Selection (Jason Spezza) for Alexei Yashin is arguably the worse trade in NHL history. Milbury as GM was one of the best things to happen to the NYR franchise.
Milbury 🙂
On Marchand’s goal, Holden made about 3 or 4 bad decisions in a matter of seconds before it was in the net. Thought the captain had one of his better games in a while.
Kreider put Pasternak in a head lock after he shoved at Smith in front of the Rangers crease after the whistle.
Stepans struggles continue. Mock me if you want for line ideas but I think Nash with Hayes and Vesey and reuniting the Zibanejad/Buch Kreider line may spark something.
From the latest edition of Elliotte Friedman’s “30 Thoughts”:
“The Rangers, sitting in a position of power with Shattenkirk, are not believed to have offered more than a second-round pick and B- or C-level prospect for him. It will be interesting to see where this goes in June/July. Both sides may need to bend to make it work, but if they want it to happen, there’s certainly a will. “
So today I met the most confused hockey fan in the world! Meet Pablo! He said that he actually likes the Rangers! I asked him to name at least one current Ranger and he said….wait for it……………..
KOVALEV!! I swear! I almost died!
http://i68.tinypic.com/2ls8pky.jpg
It’s funny to hear people say that this is the first game Hank has “stolen” this year. I think there have been more than a few. Philly twice, Caps, Toronto, Dallas all come to
mind. He was great last night, but he’s been great in a bunch of games. When he’s been bad it’s been very obvious and imo more “memorable” because it’s out of character. We definitely need to see better 60 minute games going forward because Hank can’t do what he did last night on a regular basis. I think both Stepan and Kreider are struggling with injuries. I hope Buch stays up and in top nine. LGR!
so pablo is a ranger fan wearing a islander hat and a flyer jersey, got it.
Uhh dude, you do know who Pablo Asham is, right??
Looks like he just robbed the NHL store

Thoughts on the non-call –> NBA rules, “no harm, no foul”.
It’s like when the Hansons skated by the goaltender or the bench. Oh whoops, just passing by.
It was funny to see Slapshot on the NHL Network for the movie’s 40th anniversary. It REALLY loses a lot when you to edit for broadcast television. When I used to travel/cover the Iona College hockey team Slapshot was always the first movie shown on the long bus rides 9which seemed to be every bus ride). It was the only time when everyone was watching the movie and not talking, sleeping or listening to music.
26. The Rangers, sitting in a position of power with Shattenkirk, are not believed to have offered more than a second-round pick and B- or C-level prospect for him. It will be interesting to see where this goes in June/July. Both sides may need to bend to make it work, but if they want it to happen, there’s certainly a will.
And Mexico will pay for the will.
Clearly a high stick by the Bruins player, if Smith’s head crossed the goal line it probably would have been disallowed..
the whistle would have blown if a Bruins player was the next to touch Smith’s head.
I was wondering why Smith was on all fours in his own zone. The replay was never shown on NBCSN. It also appears to be deliberate.
If Smith’s head had been knocked into the stands, I think all of the Rangers players would have instinctively pointed at it while trying to get the ref’s attention for a delay of game.
But silly Rangers, the Boston player wasn’t in the defensive zone.
Smith slammed a Bruin (Seguin) to the ice on the next opportunity when heading to the bench after the puck was cleared, eventually leading to Oscar’s heroics.
We know this team is soft but there were goal mouth scrums with Seguin and Pesterneck taking liberties. Jeez…
When Sam said Smith was down I figured he blew out his knee. Was happy to know that it was “only” him getting whacked in the face with an errant stick.
“Bruin (Seguin)”
Different Bruin.
“I was wondering why Smith was on all fours in his own zone.”
He was looking for his head. You think finding a dislodged contact lens is tricky, try finding your head without your head.

see the last minute. ripped him a new one (lack one of his goalies)
Not Seguin 🙂
Pasternak was the player with that shot to Smith. Same one who blind sided G and got suspended early in the season. Kids a bit of a punk
I like him, a lot.
Scru Pasternak
His name is Pastrnak.
Pasternak was a great Soviet poet and novelist. You know, the guy who wrote “Doctor Zhivago” 😉
Did you know that the original title of “War and Peace” was “War, what is it good for?”
Absolutely nothin’; say it again, huh!
did you guys see Brodeur’s Enterprise commercial? Actually pretty good.
“You know Tolstoy use to write in the village square. The faces inspired him.”
“He didn’t need any inspiration….God spoke through his pen.”
“Yes, Mr Lippman. It was his mistress who insisted he call it War and Peace.”
Uuummm…. I actually wasn’t quoting Seinfeld…but, thanks.
🙂
Did it bum you out that you couldn’t fit in the compact rental?

Repost because no one said new post…
Got home late, just finished watching the game….

I voted shampoo boy, easy peasy jimmy vesey, and I-95…in no particular order.

Classy classy classy Montreal

Now to go back and read the comments and see if there is a “run out of the bldg by bigger team” exaggeration comment or two.
–
Speaking of comments, anyone hear hank’s post game with Boucher? Hank said they needed to add grit and physicality so smith helps in that. I wonder why an NHL player thinks he knows more about hockey than norm? 😉
Caught up on comments…knew what I’d see, you guys never disappoint;)
–
Norm
Yes sir, it was a good hit.
–
Silver lining is they can make a couple of “hockey trades” in the off season regardless of playoff outcome.
–
I also think even though AV got an extension, a first round exit and he might be canned.
Not even enterprise can pick Brodeur up
Cccp ❤️ Seinfeld
Izzy can lift him over his head
That was a wicked shot by

“Marty how many grocery bags can you fit in the trunk of a mid size sedan?” #askbrodeur
AV: “nice shot by Buch but he’s no Yesper Fast”
“Marty did you rent a car just to have easier access to drive throughs?” #askBrodeur
If Buch had played a full season I think he’d probably have a good 15 goals at least. And would probably still be likely to go to Hartford
Pasture Knack is the affinity to raising sheep in Soviet grasslands and then writing about it.
Proposed 40 second golf rule to hit your gdamned ball and move on – waaaay past due.
When you took the Enterprise gig, were you upset to find that Prise wasn’t a restaurant you could enter?
#AskBrodeur
Why is Birthday Boy the one Ranger chasing down Brad Durante Marchand ? Why isn’t 27 or someone else putting him in a headlock when he is trying to goat Hanky ? This team needs a heart transplant
Or at the very least VIAGRA SINGLE Packs So Someone Gets A Hard *$
Re punks like Marchand
FAT BOY MARTY went to Enterprise rent a car because They give you the tools to succeed
I wouldn’t mind seeing Kreider, Zibanejad, & Miller together at some point.
After watching Hank have to stick.up for himself again last night I vote for a line of Kocur Kurtenback and Domi..I am in favor of Extreme Vetting for all future draft picks to make sure they have the Ba##s to stick up for their teammates
I realize we won the game I realize we banked another 2 points but at what point do you become embarrassed that your goaltender has to also be your most vocal response to opponents trash talking? Every other team in the NHL would have had someone on the ice at the time handle Marcjand..Us? We resort to the 50’s classic….”Leave It To Hank”
I-95. LMAO.
Can you fit your wife and her sister in your Enterprise rental?
#AskBrodeur
If not you, the rocks would have said it CARP. I was waiting for some Uncle Daddy up here.

FYI, Kevin Weekes then took Peters to task for classlessness on NHLNetwork. Good for him.
Peters making Torts look like Nelson Mandela in that clip wow
Dumb move by Peters. Who wants to play for a guy that behaves like that?
Plus, does he have any idea how hard it is for a struggling goalie with no confidence to think he now has to pitch a shutout? Asinine.
Surprised a guy like Ron Francis would stand for something like that.
Black Hawks – Isles on MSG. 8:00. Let’s Go Hawks!
Watching the BlackHawks..man I love how Chicago plays the game..
My Blackhawks jacket. Love my Blackhawks jacket.
The crossed hatchets..classic
HO SANG CAN YOU SEE playing tonight..
Wish we had a player like Ten Years After on our roster…
the other kind of sister in law ie not his wifes sister
http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Romantic-or-insane-Marty-Brodeur-gets-married-a?urn=nhl,91034
Brodeur was scheduled to get married in late June to Genevieve Nault (pictured far right … just jokes, people), the former wife of Melanie’s half-brother whose relationship with Brodeur launched a thousand “sex with your sister-in-law” jokes.
“Fatso there just forgot to shake my hand, I guess.”
Brodeur to new wife: “Well, that was a nice night out. You relax and I’ll drive the baby sitter home.”
Wife: “Uh…I’ll go with you.”
Olga are you pit there? Hawks tie it with 114 to go. OT now. Let’s go hawks
HAWKS WIN! Shootout.
They sure took their sweet time about it. Never led until the final shot.
Sure was tough listening to Skeletor through the game. I think next time I’ll just shove a sharpened pencil in each ear.
It’s Saturday morning where is everybody?
Wotta game, Hank! That said I bet dollars to Koharski’s donuts that if Marchand was a NYR he’d be pretty freakin popular around here. Just sayin…
Here’s hoping THE gets on the ice early for warm ups and takes some full speed runs at the goal… thinking of you mr. price!
Can we pick up two points from a game against the damn habs please?!
Because you asked nicely…yes
Kreider may never score another goal skating with Frodo.
Tonight = Must Win
Carmello Zuccarello! Where the puck goes to die.
Fivefinns is right on the money regarding the rangers. When opposing player bumps or in the rangers case plow into Lundqvist the rangers throw hugs and kisses. All other teams in the nhl when a opposing player breaths on there goalie they assault the guy.
“They’re not booing they’re saying zuuuuuc…no wait….no, they are booing”
Remember our motto! “Aim low?”
How are we gonna get him to shoot the puck more?
That’s what this sack of wrenches is for..
Zuccarello translated means glue stick.
Plecanic-So, are we still doing the diving thing?
Julian-Look around you F#/#$-!*/&!&! We’re the bad-asses now! . . . But, yeah, you can still dive.
Tonight is as far away from a must-win game as you can get. It’s a must-not-get-injured game, for which we need help from the hockey gods. It’s too bad the Rangers can’t sub in 5-6 Hartford guys for a game or two to help ease Kreider et al through to complete recovery. I mean, it’s Saturday night in NYC, there’s other things to do besides watch the Blueshirts limp through another home game, and it would be nice for the die-hards to see some Packers in action on the big stage.
Is that Packers or Hackers? The boys might surprise us tonight and put in 1 good period.
PETA outraged that before a game in Pittsburgh there was a bunch of penguins released onto the ice. While walking across the blueline one of the penguins fell down. Members of PETA, outraged by the stress and torment put onto these precious creatures were later informed that it’s common practice for ALL Penguins to take a dive..
Especially if they’re Canadien Penguins James G.
James not sure when you will be visiting St Pete but next weekend is the St Pete Grand Prix downtown. Sunday the 12th will be a madhouse.
Two Gorings from among many last night.
Crawford gloves a bouncing puck with Tanks up 1-0. “He catches it with that left hand glove, or else it’s 2-0.”
and, Panarin (whose name confounded him all night, “won the Calder Cup” last year.
must win.
these are great. he tweets them every morning for the rest of the season.

ps, Damian used to work for the Rangers, and now is on the NHL Player Safety staff. Good guy, no matter how much I kill them.
Lots of Red on that Rangers slate
Communists?
Since November 15th, Mats Zuccarello has scored 5 goals. That is 46 games. Anybody else, and there would demands to bench him.
“I think you’re some kind of deviated prevert. And I think General Ripper found out about your preversion and that you were organizing some kind of mutiny of preverts.”
8 points on the PP all season. Averages 18.50 minutes a night. Good season?
This Santa’s a commie! And he’s spreading propaganda!
Ok let’s go pinko you’re out of here!
Topo seems to be one of those lucky, rarefied, singular characters in life who not only escapes criticism, but is semi-beatified by friend and foe alike. Zooooook!
‘You cannot trust your neighbor or even next of kin
If your mommie is a commie, then you gotta turn her in…’
five goals on eight shots.
How many PP points for 1C?
Hey Sorry Eli, didn’t see your questions before. we’ll be in town a week from this Monday. Leaving Thursday an Stopping on the way down in NC, Savannah and then Jax on the way. I didn’t realize the Grand Prix was coming to town though! Guessing you’ll be busy down there
Between Zucc, Stepan and Zibanejad, we’d probably be in last place without Grabner, Miller and Hayes…
..and Stepan would still be saying “we need to be better”
Could always be worse. Corey Perry makes 2x what Zucc makes and has one less goal
Conversely, you might be talking Presidents’ Trophy if those three played/produced to expectations.
we’re talking about the defending Steven McDonald Most Popul …. er, I mean, Extra Effort award winner.
Perry and Getzlaf= 22 goals for 18.25 million dollars. Grabner- 26 goals for 1.6 million dollars
Not to be confused with the Brad Richards Extra Ef-it award, likely won by Kevin Hayes last season.
… or Brass.
And along with a Presidents’ Trophy would come constant talk about how teams that win it never make it to the Cup
@BDL I pointed out earlier in season that many of Zucs assists are not primary either. It may be heresy but I think the best use of Zuc is on the 4th line. Why? He won’t have guys with him that he feels obligated to play fancy pants pass and instead might make some moves on the net of his own.
Topo misses Brass and Hagelin. Think this place would melt down if Zucc was playing on a line with Crosby and Kunitz…
Richards: “Just signed a new contract last year and my legs are going doc. What can you give me to help?”
Doctor: “Take 82 milligrams of fuquitall and go cash your checks, son”…
James-History says those guys will snap out of it and begin to score.
if they start producing around April 12, nothing else will matter … just like pretty much the rest of the schedule doesn’t really matter. Get fourth place Metro. Go 5-13 or whatever and get in. That’s all that matters,
Rangers getting out-challenged:
https://twitter.com/Dave_Stubbs/status/838062709136637953
I’m not stressing it Ohh. Moral of the story is it all comes out in the wash. Long as they show up ready for the post season that’s all we can ask.
I just saw a photo of Carp walking along a Manhattan street next to the Russian ambassador. They may or may not have been in conversation about an upcoming Rangers game versus a Canadian team. I hope I did the right thing reporting it to HUAC.
Step is one of those guys who has another gear in the post season. Hoping he shift into it early
Norm, the answer lies in the first season of The Americans on FX..
One goal and 11 assists for Stepan on the PP.
Thx., BDL.
Norm, I was just explaining to him that Buchnevich could be going back to Hartford. I don’t think that’s espionage.
I agree with the “just get in” strategy, but it would be nice to beat Montreal once in the regular season.
Not a must-win, but it sure would be a nice start to Saturday evening.
Agree James.
Is this the year Nash comes gets hot the post season? God I hope so.
He was the best forward they had for the 5 games they lasted against Pittsburgh last year. If he can duplicate that kind of performance he should be fine.
Bdl
Carp asked for the 1C stats, which is Hayes, stepan has not been 1C on this team since the short season.
James
His gear is neutral, you have him confused with carp’s whipping boy brassard, who, as we all know, is called big game brass for a reason.
Neutral…lol
Carp, I’m in rcpt of yr “Buchnevich could be going back to Hartford” msg, sry fr dlay, lost tday’s p/w. Had my guys decrypt–lk fr my rply at usual dead drop.
💀 💀 💀
Wait, is this a secure line?
And that’s not even the most relevant. He set up Kreider for the tying goal in the 3rd and McD for the OT goal both in game 5. Not to mention he came back with his jaw wired shut the year before an scored a big goal. I’m happy with his post season performance…then again maybe If we traded him instead of Brassard, I’d get an invite out to the Wicky’s place once in a while 🙂
After the seriously scary events with Topo last season, were I he, I’d be a ski instructor in Norway. That he suits up and competes in this uber physical sport is admirable.
Here’s fun research. Type into your tool bar “Rangers blow lead to Montreal”…you get all kinds of articles from all different years. 2008, 2009, 2011, 2017…It’s like one of those bad horror movies where they show you clips of news headlines to give you background story..
I do the brass for zpack trade any day. Of course because of salary and value, the sens wanted brass and not stepan and you can’t blame them for that. Better player value.
Lol, one goal is all folks think of, in a series that turned on a tanner glass fight to the rangers favour. Lol, you guys never cease to amaze me with your player love
The Grand Prix will be over the Monday you arrive James, so things will be clearing out by then. I only work Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday so I will miss most of the chaos.
NEWS ALERT
Tortorella’s people allegedly wiretapped Dolan’s people with tap installed on Dolan’s yacht, ‘The Straight Ship.’
Stepan…playoff monster…
85 gp 17 goals 43 pts -5
Nash…playoff whipping boy…
65 gp 12 goals 36 pts +6
Nash, better playoff ppg than stepan and better +/- stats (if you care about those) so he’s a better offencive and defencive playoff performer than stepan…but yeah stepan has another gear in the post season and Nash sucks.
–
I love you guys but some of you are really clueless about hockey
Nash has the speed to recover and help out while Step has to be standing on the corner to catch the bus.
Oh and btw…brassard….
59 gp 18 goals 44pts +18
–
But hey, step has another gear…like I said, neutral.
–
It’s no wonder the sens wanted brass and not step, better value and better player dollar for dollar.
Big Game Brass mailed it in last season. Sorry.
Wick-Nash came here in his prime. Stepan played a lot of playoff games as a much younger player. Some of that is apples and oranges.
What were their respective cap hits before Step signed this contract?
NHL salary this season…step $8 mil, cap hit $6.5mil, Nash $8 mil, cap hit $7.8 mil, brassard $5 mil, cap hit $5 mil
Carp
He did along with almost everyone else on the roster.
The “make excuses for stepan” line starts over to the right…everyone form up behind ohh-baby
Step has been known to disappear for stretches, as he has of late The playoffs were no exception early on.
Turned on a Tanner Glass fight 🙂
Momentum!
It’s pretty simple and sorry it’s tough for some of you to accept it. Brassard dollar for dollar is a better value as a player than stepan and is a better playoff performer.
–
I’d make the brass z pack deal every day and twice on Sunday.
–
Just proving a point that stepan isn’t nearly as special as some of you make him out to be.
Carp
Agreed and the players were the first to say it.
Wick, stop me if I’m tiresomely misexaggerating your recent missives, but am I correct in assuming you believe Stepan is no good in the playoffs and that anyone who disagrees with that assessment is clueless?
Norm
Not correct in the least, but way to go to an extreme though.
–
I simply pointed out stepan doesn’t really have “another gear” in the post season and then was given a couple examples of the same goal.
–
I then chose to use stepan as a comparable to a couple of other players that everyone seems to think suck and are terrible in the post season to show that they are overrating and over valuing stepan. Doesn’t mean he’s bad (he isn’t) but he is overrated by many here.
Stepan is so special! Your not special!
Good evening all! sadly gonna be skating in late…may miss the festivities entirely, but here’s an early LGR!!!!!! Youse guys crack me up….
Wick-i never said “special,” but he’s part of the core and crucial to the success of this team. IMO Brass wasn’t as well rounded as Stepan, but is better offensively.
If Glass had landed one or two more punches they could have won Game 7 in regulation.
Thanks for the clarification, Wick. I was prematurely obsessing, crawling around on all fours searching in the carpet for clues.
Torts!
Not much on the line for the team tonight, but I wouldn’t seeing a little desperation from Puempel, who seems not to be aware his NHL days may be numbered. Not fair for me to say, but seems sometimes the guy is guilty of believing his own (past) press clippings?
As I was crawling across the Whitestone today towards the toll, I had an idea
Carp, when you tell everyone to put down their phones and drive, can you add “it’s 2017, get an EZ Pass already”
Lmao ok Wick. So Stepan 17 goals 43 points= bum. Brass 18 goals 44 points- best playoff performer ever!.
Step was part of those younger Ranger teams but I’m tired of this argument. Just gonna say for the record I mention MORE THAN that one playoff goal in citing contributions from the guy. Not talking dollar value corsi stats contracts or any of that crap. Just results. He’s given them a respectable amount
I am JACKED for tonight’s game..if we can pull this one out we get 2 ounces of Dunkin Donuts coffee tomorrow for just 1.00…
Any chance of getting a Go Time, or should we carry o here?
LET’S GO RANGERS!!!!!
BEER IN MY GLASS IS UINTA HOP NOSH..NEXT UP SOUTHERN TIER 2XIPA…
Montreal added beef this should be a chippy affair…
LGR !!!
What gives with the late start?
Is it HAV at it time yet?
I just fought myself to make sure I get off to a good rooting start. LGR!
They’re a pesky lot, aren’t they.?
Smith scares me.
LGR!!!! Price catching a few ZZZZ
Wick, you know I’m just busting chops. I thought the Glass fight was great, terrific timing. But you also know that I don’t believe anything that happened in one game affects anything in subsequent games in a series. And indeed, the Rangers were one OT shot from losing that series, and it had nothing to do with the fight.
Again with the pajamas against an Original Six. Tradition!
Gallagher = head pesk
