The Rangers host the faux Romans from Ottawa for a tilt tonight at MSG. The Senator’s chariots have been running a bit faster that NY’s so will be interesting to see if the Rangers can derail Ottawa. At the least I think we’d all like a little gladiator action at center ice!
Ottawa is 3-6-1 in their last ten, most recently with a win over VAN and losses to FLA, COL, UTA and DET so perhaps its not quite as bad as it looks. The Rangers are 2-6-2 in their last ten and it pretty much is as bad as it looks. Certainly feels that way to most fans.
Quick (3-9-2, 2.80 GAA, 0.898 SV%) will go again tonight against Ottawa’s Merilainen (7-10-0, 3.33 GAA, 0.870 SV%) as Ullmark is still in hiding out for ‘personal reasons’. The rest of the NYR line-up is expected to be the same as Monday. Sullivan said today Rempe is a semi-healthy scratch as the thumb injury is still limiting his play.
The refs tonight are Francois St. Laurent (1115 GP) and Justin Kea (186 GP). Slight edge for the home team but nothing to get excited about.

I’ve never been a big fan of benching guys during the game, but if there ever was a time, it was after Trocheck’s incredibly selfish pengo start the game. Miller, not to be out done, with a lazy attempt to clear, leads to second goal. I sure am glad these two are the leaders of this team.

I was never a fan of bringing Miller back last year and his play so far this year has been not very good. For someone who is supposed to be our Captain his compete level seems to stink especially in the d zone. As I said earlier Miller and Troceck both look hurt; Cullye and Laffy I have no understanding of what has happened to their games. Also Schneider last year looked like he was maturing into a competent D man. What the heck happened to all of these young players?
I am full of questions with little or no answers. I guess that is why I am not coaching this sh** show. You would think one of the last 4 coaches could have gotten it right.
