The Rangers return to play tonight hoping to bounce back from a loss and beat one of the better teams in the league, the Dallas Stars. And I don’t know about you but I hate everything about Dallas!
Dallas comes into the match 8-1-1, winner of four straight (OTT, UTA, SEA, EDM) while the Rangers are 5-5-0 after dropping the last vs Tampa Bay. The Dallas PP is humming at 32.6% (#2) while the NYR PK is at 80.8% (#16). And while the NYR PP has improved to 21.3% (#12), the Dallas PK is only 79.3% (#21). Both teams are great at the dot. Beyond that, Dallas scores amost a goal more a game than the Rangers but both give up a similar number.
Shesterkin (10-9-2, 2.48GAA, 0.911 SV%) in net for the Rangers tonight and DeSmith (6-1-2, 2.07 GAA, 0.920 SV%) the early call for Dallas. Edstrom is out again with a LBI, Othmann has been recalled from Hartford but it looks like Sully has given the nod to Sheary. The line blender is in full effect, check below for the details. Dallas has a lengthy injury report: Matt Duchene (upper body), Adam Erne (lower body), Thomas Harley (lower body), Nils Lundkvist (lower body), Lian Bichsel (lower body).
The refs tonight are Chris Lee (1516 GP) and Michael Markovic (343 GP). Lee is right down the middle, Markovic tends to give a few passes to the home team.

Just finished the replay on espn+. My thoughts I’m sure no one will like them. Stars did not give their best and missing a few good players. If you give up 42 shouts to the Rangers you are sleep walking. They are probably going to win just enough games giving Drury the opportunity to wreck more of the future at the deadline. What was the purpose of the Miller trade? When is Busto going to get a vacation in the press box? Why not have Schneider on the point? On a positive note a nice OT win!
