Well the Rangers ended their preseason on a down note, dropping the finale 4-1 to the Bruins. Final cuts will be coming soon, will try to update this page when available.

Lafrenière will get PP1 time when he shows Sullivan he’s good at it. If that’s already happened, great! But the coach’s job re. PP1 is to produce goals, not to satisfy players who want to be on it. Hell, I want to be on it.
Then why is Meeka on it ?

Since 2017/18 Zibanejad has scored the 5th most PPG in the NHL (104) in 593 games. Reinhart at #6 has 101 in 608 games.

I’m very underwhelmed by Sheary and Rassish. Twenty games to prove me wrong I guess.
Meeka had 7 last year…their powerplay last year was horrendous and his hesitancy to shoot and/or miss the net when he did was a main reason. They can’t afford similar results on PP this year especially with their 5 on 5 play
I’d want to see evidence that Lafrenière is a better PP guy than Zibanejad before throwing the latter off #1. I don’t see Rangers practices, though. Sullivan does. Again, you don’t promote a guy to help his numbers. PP1 would help just about any NHL’er’s. You put the five guys out who have demonstrated they can do it best.
The personnel on PP1 requires Bread to be on left side dot, putting JT on the opposite circle and FOX up top leaving Meeka or Tro in bumper or on top of Crease, my guess, by default, is bumper, not his nor Tro’s strong suit so Land of Misfit Toys Part 78

There’s team friendly and there’s stupid. The best player in the world risking his 9-figure contract for a 2-year below market deal is criminally negligent. I don’t care what the salary cap is going to be in 2029.
But how are you supposed to know Lafrenière is a better PP guy than Zibanejad ….if he never gets PP time? who was the last number 1 pick that hasn’t gotten significant PP time this far into his career?

I have never been this excited for the start of a Rangers season.
we already know disco Mika is a power play merchant who is mid on the power play. am I supposed to believe kappo kakko would have done much less than 19 points if he had all the PP1 time last year? At this point may as well just gift Lafren that spot for the first few months and find out for sure. WDMD lately to earn that time either?
how about this out Mika out there on PP2 with sheary and Rempe for 28 seconds a night and see if he can prove he should earn back PP1. not gonna happen

Holy crow. Tampa so bush league with that move of calling up AHLers for the sole purpose of going all Hanson bros on them. Major injuries could’ve resulted.

People moan about LaCoast not being gifted PP1 after a 17 goal season (1 better than 22/23) yet Schneider needs to step up? Is there a reason he is not 2nd pair? Or first? Fox would be better suited at this point to 2nd pair and PP1

Interesting to see now how Sully uses this third line. Delores between shearling and radish not exactly a recipe for a 40-point rookie year so the preseason scoring pace definitely falls off.
Guess Dreary/Sully want to see if Sheary can recapture his 19G 24A glory of 21/22 in Washington. He doesn’t really block shots nor does he hit (and how hard is it to get on that stat sheet?)

The #NHL has fined the Tampa Bay Lightning $100,000 and coach Jon Cooper $25,000 “for their actions culminating in the events of” their preseason game on Saturday night against Florida.

I have to say, I”m disappointent in schneider. When he was drafted all the analyst gave him high regards. The past 2 years he has not impressed me at all and hasn’t played well defensively at times.
There is potential that 3rd line can pot a few goals while being defensively responsible.
Radish got his chances last year. Just didn’t finish. xGF or something was off the charts. He’s still fairly young.
Maybe Laba unlocks him and they find great chemistry.
Sheary could be a firecracker with his luck pursuit.

bottom 6 has to play smart physical possession hockey; pin the other team deep and cycle, cycle, cycle; not counting on them to score much
D is biggest question mark; better in own end, but not sure how much they can push the pace and/or transition puck out of Dzone; time will tell.
PP and Goalie will need to carry them until they figure out who they are.

You know it’s not going to be a good year for your team when the only thing your looking forward to during the season is the trade deadline and your anxious to see if your GM will be smart and trade away whoever you can get assets for. If drury is a buyer he should be fired immediately.
