Second preseason game tonight against that team from the city with the funny accent, the Boston Bruins. Boston is coming off a 5-2 preseason opener loss to the Capitals.
Some of the kids are getting a second go (Laba, Othmann, Parssinen, Perreault, Robertson, Berard, etc) while other more familiar faces (Cuylle, Fox, Shesterkin) get their first game and new comer Gavrikov makes his debut.
Expect a lot of different line combos again. A little pressure on Othmann who did not have a great game against NJD. Panarin still limited with LBI.

It’s only pre season but Fox looks like he’s played 90 games without a break. His body language is absolutely irritating and his head wasn’t in the game. He pretty much is the reason this game went south.
On a positive note 94 is a sniper and Laba is pretty good. Bernard has nice hands and so does Fix-Walonsky.
Look on the bright side. These guys haven’t learned yet to only play one period a game. They actually dominated for two.

Is there some way a ballsy Ranger coach and GM finally see that Fox is not ghe player he was 3 years agk and trade him. He makes 3 or 4 plays a year like this. He is supposed to be an elite NHL d man.
I really think it is time for him to go. His head just does not seem to be in the game.
Unfortunately the NMC is in effect now, that trade window has probably closed for three seasons.
The time to make that decision was before July 1. They are stuck with him now. He is unmovable even without the NMC. Perrault made a bad play on the shorty too. But he’s a rookie and doesn’t make $9million per.

There were a couple of bright light in yesterdays game. Some of the kids looked OK. Let’s see what they do Thurs.
Once again, the young players played well. Even Chemlar, who I don’t think is much of a prospect, was very noticeable. The only one I didn’t care for was Sykora. Didn’t notice him at all, until they showed him on the bench.
My only Skykora sighting was pushing a guy away near net. Other than that zilch
