2025 Stanley Cup Finals Begin

A rematch! Ali v. Frazier! Da thrilla in…never mind 😉 The Oilers dispatched the Stars without too much difficulty other than the five minute breakdown in game one. Likewise, Florida had a pretty easy go with the Hurricanes. Of those two losers, tend to think Dallas the tougher out and Edmonton looks like they just might have figured out the defensive side of the game. Florida will beg to differ and do their best to repeat as SC champs.

Game and broadcast schedule is below:

The Rangers would be better off trading KAM for a top prospect or young top player(center or left Dman) as opposed to draft picks that they will screw up anyway. They are better off getting a prospect from a team that actually knows how to draft players.

Very discouraging that Isles have a brighter future than Rangers with Eiserman, Ritchie and Schaefer coming in the next year or so. Rangers have little to look forward to from their draft picks.

4-1, game over. Edmonton should now resort to Panthers hockey playbook, take no prisoners. Check to hurt instead of checking to separate a guys from the puck.

Can’t Trade Miller unless a top pair D is coming back…unless he waits until July. If he can sign Gavrikov then he has more options moving Miller

  37. Beezle Avatar
    Beezle

If Miller is being moved it is because he is not a top pair defenseman, ergo you are not getting one back, by whatever definition you want to use for “top pair defender”.

  38. Anonymous Source Avatar

The Rangers were negotiating with Miller during the last few weeks of the season. His ask is more than the Rangers can stomach, so they have pivoted to trading him, knowing they can’t sign him. If they can’t get the trade they are looking for, they are perfectly happy to let him get an offer sheet, knowing what the number is going to be, and not match. The probable first, and 3rd can be used as assets to do other things.

Miller Lite is hopefully somebody else’s problem. Yes, he can skate straight ahead and make plays in open ice; that is 5% or less of what he is being asked to do. Just doesn’t not have the mental make up to play smart in all 3 zones; a borderline 3rd line winger who can’t play up so he plays back.

For me, KAM is in that nebulous between 3rd and 2nd pair. Better than a 3rd pair but leaving me wanting more as a 2nd pair. I do not think he’s a legit 1st pair. If someone can ever get him to stop doing the same stupid things in his own end then he could be a decent 2nd.

  54. Mkh Avatar

SN – If you are right, it sounds like Drury has once again sold low on a player. Rangers should have traded Kreider after his 50 goal season. It’s good that they are saving his salary cap hit, but they really should be trading with teams like Anaheim, San Jose, Utah for some of their top prospects, since those teams have deep prospect pools. Rangers should be doing that with KAM as well. Target other teams top prospects, not draft picks. Rangers scouts and management can’t be trusted to draft well.

Since 2021 drurys has drafted 16th, 63rd, 23rd, and 30th as his highest picks in each year. Not expectating deeply inpactful roster players at this point. Sure there are a few guys making nhl impact drafted behind Othmann but only a few, so far the sweet spot in 2021 looks to have been 12th/13th pick and better.

Not saying in a few years we won’t be able to look back and say he blew those drafts – and organizational history points to it likely being the case – but in the meanwhile there are bigger pizzas to fry.

The 10-12 best prospect does not seem like much of a return, even with Ducks taking on full salary. If prospect is down that far on their depth chart, he is probably a questionable future NHL player. They are probably better off letting Kreider redeem himself in coming season and trade him at deadline. If his game regresses even more, you aren’t losing much. You get their 15-18 best prospect?? Big deal, just another prospect that won’t play for Rangers.

What does Drury think Kreider could’ve gotten done on the third line last season?
6.5 million is jack squat with the cap going up. Also, in Kreider’s entire career, he is currently at his lowest worth.
Drury seems to like getting players to their lowest worth before getting nothing for them. See: Trouba, Kakko, Kreider.
Or just plain getting nothing for a player even when he’s worth a lot. See: Buchnevich

I am firmly in the happy to see Kreider go camp. I believe Kreider and Zbad orchestrated the ‘We Quit in New York” this past season. That is inexcusable in my eyes and he can’t be gone soon enough. maybe he had some injuries, but I still believe he Quit, so good riddance. we can only hope that Zbad waives his NMC to go join him. This Kreider ( or anyone else) quitting on the team narrative is complete nonsense. Were they upset about Trouba, and Goodrow?, obviously, but the did not quit. In Kreider’s case, you can argue that his issue was more about playing injured, when he shouldn’t have been playing at all. Selfishly believing 50% of Kreider was better than other options. Trouba, and Kreider are perfect examples as to why players should not play hurt. They end up looking bad because they cannot play to their typical level. The pro athlete mentality has always been, if I can lace em up, I’m going to try and play. It’s why they made it as far as they did.

Can we get a new post when deal finalized?

Kreider used to run around and throw his body around with reckless abandon in the first half of his career and frequently was in the sin bin as a result and often out of position defensively. Post life-threatening injury scare and subsequently surgery, he came back a different player; in fact, even was put on pk which was unthinkable early in his career.

Probably too smart for being just a knuckle dragging hockey player willing to compromise his life after hockey by fighting and had his share of stretches where performance waned. Familiarity breeds contempt and many naysayers proved their lack of hockey smarts be dissing #20’s effort.

You have all watched the best playoff forward in NYR history since 2000 and nobody will touch his playoff goal scoring totals in our lifetimes unfortunately. His legacy will only be emboldened over time and to (finally!) have a draft choice exceed expectations is reason alone to celebrate his Ranger career. History will be kind to #20.

    Terrance
    56 29 23 52 25
One of the OHL’s most underrated players,
Terrance had a good year for the Erie Otters even if
he failed to hit the point per game mark. Because
of his speed and strong two-way commitment
level, he brings such versatility to his coaches.
Offensively, his best asset is his shot, something
that helped him score 29 goals and lead Erie in
goal scoring this year. Terrance also was a member of the U.S.’ gold
medal winning WJC squad, but he did not see game action. Moving
forward, the key for Terrance is finding consistency offensively. If he
can find a way to truly unlock his speed and improve his puck skill
and carrying ability, Terrance could end up improving his outlook and
upside as a pro. If not, he could still end up a very valuable bottom six
player and penalty killer ala Paul Byron.
